> 3 dayYou might be unfamiliar with Ethercon cables. Electronically, theyre no different than your standard CAT6 RJ45 ethernet cable. The difference is the connector. And while most standard RJ45 cables will work with an Ethercon jack, the reverse is NOT true. Ethercon cables cant be used with most network cards, etc., as they have a far more robust retainer to make pulling them out more difficult. These are a part of GearITs ecosystem of devices, useful for audio snakes, carrying DMX for lighting, or AES for digital audio. These are situations where you DO NOT want a network cable to pull out accidentally, as it can set off an apocalyptic range of audio madness. The Ethercon connector prevents that. When its snapped in, youre protected against all but the most abusive situations. Theres only one word to describe GearITs version of the Ethercon cable. HARDCORE. As in almost overkill, but the confidence level in these holding up is100%. They come in varying lengths. I ordered the six, ten, and fifteen-foot versions. All are equally well built. So much so, I was actually quite surprised. On top of that, theyre very well packaged, with their website, tech support phone/email and hours of operation printed right on the bags. The product photos are accurate--thats exactly how they were delivered. This is a case where Id award ten stars if I could. Operation of the cable is flawless. Just phenomenally well constructed and presented. Cant beat that.

18-11-2024CAT6, oxygen-free copper cable in a solid-feeling rubberized jacket with pro-quality cannon connectors (ethercon-type). This is one nice cable! I ordered it, to pair with Gearits 4-channel DMX/XLR Audio extender. This cable works perfectly. The cables cannon/ehtercon connectors click into the extender boxes, firmly- making for excellent, noise-free signal conduction. It is worth a mention that this cable is advertised and labeled as shielded. However, the specification for the shielding isnt stated. Because of this, I assume the cable is CAT6 F/UTP... which means the cable would consist of 4 unshielded twisted pairs, surrounded by an outer foil shield- just beneath the jacket. For shielding at the individual twisted pair level, the cable would have to be CAT6A. That said, this cable is robust, features pro-quality assembly, and yields pro-quality signal propagation. Id buy more.

Greater than one weekI bought this as I needed a spare 6 ft cable for my home network in the living room. This unit works perfectly and the cable is very well made and durable.

> 3 dayI got this because I wanted to hook something up that took an etherCON type of cable like this. The cable is nice and I tried to look over it without taking the ends off which showed me that this is a well made cable in general. Just know that this is not something that you can pop the ends off of and get good results using it as an ethernet cable. It would probably work for a bit, but those ends are a part of the whole design and Ive taken them off of another cable which didnt work out for me and wasted my money. All in all Id say if you need this kind of cable, you wont go wrong with this companys products. This is the second time Ive used one of their cables, and I have to say that I always know that Im going to be happy with the quality when I come across their stuff.

21-11-2024This cable is thick and will be very durable. It took me a bit to figure out how to get the ends out of the shield, but twisting the metal protection and then pulling on it allows the connector to be used. I have a 1 GB speeed connection, and this cable got 911.76 Mbps download speed. My regular Cat 5 cable that I was using before this would never get past 850 Mbps. I was not really looking to increase my speeds. I just wanted something a little more heavy duty as my old Cat 5 cable I was always worried about it getting pinched or someone accidentally putting something on top of it. This cable can withstand a lot more than other cables due to its thickness. I find it to be a very good quality.

17-11-2024I have several GearIT cables and they have all be good quality - this one is no exception. The cable is very heavy with a good sheathing on it. The connector hoods are aluminum and the RJ45 itself is shielded. Understand these are EtherCON connectors for pro-audio applications. They arent intended for typical ethernet runs, although you can use them for that with some adjustments. The hoods are removable in this case, but they arent really intended and are probably overkill for home use.

> 3 dayseems to be a quality cable. see pics for details. As with any cable that is shipped as a spool, be sure to first unspool it to get it to lay flat when first opening the package - then roll up over/under as usual. if you do not, it will lay all curly.
