Greater than one weekI purchased 2 of these outlets and both have the same problem. I had an electrician install them because they were replacing switched outlets and I wanted to confirm we were installing them correctly. The electrician could not get either of the Geeni outlets installed. The screws did not back out far enough to wrap the wire around and then would not tighten enough to hold the wire. On one, the screw broke off after half a turn trying to tighten onto the wire. On the other, the electrician could not tighten the screw tight enough to hold the wires and he was able to pull the wire off without effort. This could be a fire hazard. Im returning them both and Im bummed because I was excited to be able to use them. But, when a professional cannot get them installed safely, then theres a problem. I tried calling Geeni, but cannot find out whether this is a known issue or just a bad batch.

> 3 dayThis is exactly what I was looking for. Make the outlets smart and less money on the light bulbs, etc.

> 3 dayThe face plate is smaller than a standard faceplate so when you replace an existing plug keep that in mind

> 3 dayBottom Line Upfront: Device Does Not Work With Alexa Details: There is a problem with either the firmware of the device and/or the Alexa Skill. The device will add correctly to the Geeni app and has all functionality from there, but when discovery is run on Alexa, only the bottom socket and the USB are “found” and controllable. I reached out to Geeni engineering over a week ago and have heard nothing. This is a major engineering failing and shows that the head of that department is totally useless in their role.

> 3 dayStarting out, my home was built in 2011 so everything was already modern specs so it was pretty much remove old and replace with new. I didn’t have to worry about electrical boxes or wires not matching. The only install issue I had was the fact that one of my faceplate screws did not want to screw into the metal hole. When it finally went in, it felt as though it had been stripped. It never secured tightly and just kept spinning so once it looked in place, I just stopped and left it alone. Setup was easy via the Geeni app. Plugs work great through Alexa. You can control each outlet and USB individually if that is what you need. Definitely get this one.

> 3 dayEven after constant use, it is still difficult to to insert a plug into the outlet. You kind of have to jiggle the plug a bit.

> 3 dayThis is a great alternative to the expensive Philips and other brands. I’ve also bought the door sensors too and love them. Highly recommend them. Great value for the price.
