> 3 dayThe outlets have bad hardware. The small screws provided to attach the plate to the chassis are too large for the threaded hole and do not fit (see image). The screw-actuated pressure fittings for inserting the black live wire and the white wire are also difficult to use and in one case I was not able to insert the white wire because the screw would become stuck. Product number: GN-WW116-199. Zebra code: 4470208972. I called their customer service, who politely gave me two options: find the right screws at my hardware store, or send it back to them, but I would have to pay shipment. Worse electrical product I have bought in the past 20 years.

> 3 dayEvery smart outlet that replaces the old outlet was unsafe having earth leakage issues. This is the first one that is safe. Once I added the app, the app was smart enough to see the new device. Made it very easy to install. After installing the first one and seeing how well it worked, I purchased two more

> 3 dayIt works, but when I put the wires in the back of the outlet to wire it up the screw head broke off as I was tightening it, and the threading on the second screw stripped as I was tightening it as well. (I wasn’t putting a lot of pressure on it when it broke).

Greater than one weekThe entire process is a bit involved, but once you get the first one installed and operational, adding more is easy. Ability to control the power to each plug on a different schedule or Alexa voice command. Use these on holiday and security lights.

> 3 dayWhile installing the new outlet you must use the cover provided. The screws they provide do not go through the outlet housing or the faceplate. You’ll have to buy new screws. Who in their right mind puts the wrong size diameter screws in their packaging. Because of this, I’ll never buy it again. I’m sure this will get read and they’ll offer a replacement, cool, if you wanna do everything twice and wait a week.

> 3 dayThis outlet is pretty big, hard to fit into older boxes. A regular trim plate fits it nicely though. It connected right up to my wifi using the Avatar controls app. I like this one over some of the others because the one button turns on both outlets and is easy to find. I wish the button was lit when the outlets were off so a person could find it in the dark though.

13-06-2025Installing the outlet is hardest part While not necessarily the fault of the outlet, I think it is important to know before you buy as I was unable to use it where I had originally intended - my 1950s boxes & wiring standards, combined with the substantial girth of the outlet and its push-in terminals did make it a bit tricky to get seated properly. If you have an older home, I would suggest surveying your existing outlet(s) before ordering. Once installed, setup and operation are about as easy as can be. The outlet shows up in Alexa as 4 devices - the entire outlet, the top plug, the bottom plug, and the USBs. I like having the option to control each bit independently.
