i really like this smart outlet. it pairs well with my Google Home. i can set timers and turn it off/on remotely (with app). The only issue i have is that after a power outage, a manual reset is required for the outlet to function. this is unfortunate, i have placed this outlet behind a very heavy piece of furniture and now have to move this item to reset the outlet after a power outage. the reset process itself is quite easy (press the button on the front of the outlet)

While installing the new outlet you must use the cover provided. The screws they provide do not go through the outlet housing or the faceplate. You’ll have to buy new screws. Who in their right mind puts the wrong size diameter screws in their packaging. Because of this, I’ll never buy it again. I’m sure this will get read and they’ll offer a replacement, cool, if you wanna do everything twice and wait a week.

This outlet is pretty big, hard to fit into older boxes. A regular trim plate fits it nicely though. It connected right up to my wifi using the Avatar controls app. I like this one over some of the others because the one button turns on both outlets and is easy to find. I wish the button was lit when the outlets were off so a person could find it in the dark though.

Simple to install. More than I asked for. Each receptacle can be operated individually including the USB ports. Used Smart Home app instead of the Geeni app per the instruction. This is a bonus for my household since we have everything connected to Smart Home app. Worked well with Alexa. I am excited to see how long this smart outlet can last.

Great idea but not executed very well Installation is similar to any other outlet but you will need to make sure your outlet box is over sized. I have an older house so I had to remove the old small box and install a new larger box. I picked up the largest fiberglass box I could find but it was still not quite large enough. the ground screw sticks out the top and I had to use a dremel to carve a small channel to make it fit. The app is fairly simple but make sure you allow it access to your location. I dd not do this at first and could not get it to connect to wifi. The Greeni app must be used for setup but then you can control it using Alexa or another app. Now that it is set up and i set a schedule it seems to be working as expected (kiddos video games and tv get shut off at bedtime)

The entire process is a bit involved, but once you get the first one installed and operational, adding more is easy. Ability to control the power to each plug on a different schedule or Alexa voice command. Use these on holiday and security lights.

These were contractor recommended. They seemed easy to install (the contractor installed them). I got them to use at my kitchen peninsula so that we can just plug the usb directly to the outlet because who has time to find the cell phone plug? You can connect them directly to your wifi. Im not going to do that because all I needed was something without the wifi, but it was recommended and needed asap for kitchen reno.

Ordered several months ago and, way past the return period, finally got around to installing only to find out you can’t ground these while working with a standard size NM rework box or NM wiremold. The ground screw is too tall. Slightly lucky for me I’m working on an old work update GFCI protected circuit with out an equipment ground already, but I’ve run a ground to the new devices. This means even if some point I’m able to ground the main circuit I would have to replace the outlet again to ground it putting in extra work later. After powering the devices up and using the app they are pretty easy to connect to WiFi and they have an at least usable automations capabilities. If you want to use these like myself for controlling kids bedroom TVs, it’s possible but requires some ingenuity setting up the automations. The only really good these have going for them is how inexpensive they are.
