> 3 dayPros: • Works flawlessly with Genie Garage door opener • No Radio Frequency interference with opener • Whiter light (as compared to previous Genie bulb) • More energy efficient (as compared to previous Genie bulb) Cons: • None – hopefully it lasts at least as long as the previous bulb This Genie LED bulb works flawlessly in a Genie garage door opener. It lights quickly with a white light, and does not appear to produce radio frequency interference as many standard LED bulbs do that can interfere with the receiver. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. This bulb is actually a replacement for the previous generation Genie LED bulb LEDB1-R. I checked my Amazon orders, and I had ordered 2 of the original Genie bulbs in December of 2016. One of those 2 bulbs failed after roughly 6 years of service. When I went to order a replacement, it appears that Genie has updated the model for the bulb to the newer GLEDB2-R model. The newer, current GLEDB2-R bulb appears to be a new, improved and likely lower cost design. It is a cooler color temperature and appears to be more of a pure white than the definite warm white of the GLEDB1-R previous bulb. The new bulb is specified as 4000K color temperature. I’ve taken photos of both bulbs in the opener with both the plastic cover open and closed for comparison. The left, more yellow bulb is the original, the right bulb is the new GLEDB2-R. The new bulb does appear to be even more energy efficient than the previous generation. It is specified at 78 mA versus 102 mA with both specified at 800 lumens light output. Other than the color temperature, the light output appears similar. The new bulb is also somewhat lighter, so has likely been cost reduced as well. It is hard to know if any RF filtering components have been cost reduced. It does seem to work fine, and there is no problem with closing the door remotely when the bulbs are lit.

> 3 dayThese lights worked in my old Craftsman garage door opener when several others would not.

> 3 daySo far so good. My opener takes 2 of these, so the fact that they’re not the brightest actually works for me because I don’t necessarily need a mini Sun to emerge every time I use my garage, and besides have the actual garage light in case I need additional illumination, which will be very rarely. So the brightness works for me. Light temperature is perfect too - it’s bright white (not yellow) but not that super blue sterile bright, just right in my opinion. Used on a modern Chamberlain by the way, and absolutely no signal interference with remote that I can notice. I typically use HomeLink in my car, and I’m able to operate the door from the same distance as I did before installing these.

> 3 dayIf you have a newer model garage door opener then you need this product. Why? Because it used to work great back when you had your regular old incandescent light bulbs in the overhead fixture. Right? Then you changed that bulb to an LED… and suddenly your remote door opener is “finicky”. Because the LED is interfering with the signal from the overhead door opener to your remote door opener… Your opener now only works sometimes or with repeated presses or not at all. Same goes for the manual code opener on the outside of the garage. Often times you need to resort to using the stupid garage door phone ap just to get into your own garage/house. (Which is not convenient when you’re still trying to park the car and then wrangle kids, groceries, rain etc.) Solution #1) Put back in an Incandescent Bulb. Easy peasy, simple, cheap and done. Oooops! We threw all of those out didn’t we? Cuz they told us LED was much more efficient and lasted so much longer (yeah right! and oh by the way they forgot to mention how hazardous LEDs are to dispose of too). Solution #2) Obviously the only other choice is to buy these specialty bulbs that will not interfere with the garage door opener signal. I have no idea if this brand is better than the others. I based my purchase on my experience with the brand name. The difference in price was not enough for me to want to risk having to replace these again sooner rather than later. If/when I have more to add to this review as time goes by then I will add.

> 3 dayGot these for my new genie garage door opener. Was tempted to try an off brand, but after reading reviews figured I’d get the genie brand. They are nice and bright and price on Amazon was cheaper than my local store

> 3 dayMore expensive than the regular garage opener bulb but it is worthy, the lights are so bright that you hardly see the Genie logo. There is a video from Genie that test drop the bulb from a story high and still light up. That mean the vibration of the motor won’t affect the bulb . The first picture is with regular bulbs. Big difference, day and night.
