04-06-2025We burned out an operator by using the wrong bulbs and are this time following the Genie recommendation. Hope this keeps it going for a long time.

> 3 dayThe bulbs caused my keyless entry keypad not to work properly. Also affected remotes. Once I removed the LED bulb everything worked fine. Amazon did credit my account for bulbs.

> 3 dayI have a 20 year old Genie opener on our 16 ft. garage door. I was having random issues with the Safe T Beam system going out in cold weather. I replaced sensors twice with no luck solving the problem. A few years back, I had install CFL bulbs in the opener. I saw the Genie LED bulbs and read about the issues with conventional LEDs and remotes. So, I decide to get a set of the Genie LEDs and try them out. Replaced the CFLs with Genie LEDs about a month ago and have not had a problem the Safe T Beam system even on these cold frigid days when Ive left the door up for hours.

> 3 dayPros: • Works flawlessly with Genie Garage door opener • No Radio Frequency interference with opener • Whiter light (as compared to previous Genie bulb) • More energy efficient (as compared to previous Genie bulb) Cons: • None – hopefully it lasts at least as long as the previous bulb This Genie LED bulb works flawlessly in a Genie garage door opener. It lights quickly with a white light, and does not appear to produce radio frequency interference as many standard LED bulbs do that can interfere with the receiver. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. This bulb is actually a replacement for the previous generation Genie LED bulb LEDB1-R. I checked my Amazon orders, and I had ordered 2 of the original Genie bulbs in December of 2016. One of those 2 bulbs failed after roughly 6 years of service. When I went to order a replacement, it appears that Genie has updated the model for the bulb to the newer GLEDB2-R model. The newer, current GLEDB2-R bulb appears to be a new, improved and likely lower cost design. It is a cooler color temperature and appears to be more of a pure white than the definite warm white of the GLEDB1-R previous bulb. The new bulb is specified as 4000K color temperature. I’ve taken photos of both bulbs in the opener with both the plastic cover open and closed for comparison. The left, more yellow bulb is the original, the right bulb is the new GLEDB2-R. The new bulb does appear to be even more energy efficient than the previous generation. It is specified at 78 mA versus 102 mA with both specified at 800 lumens light output. Other than the color temperature, the light output appears similar. The new bulb is also somewhat lighter, so has likely been cost reduced as well. It is hard to know if any RF filtering components have been cost reduced. It does seem to work fine, and there is no problem with closing the door remotely when the bulbs are lit.

> 3 dayIntially I had a regular tungsten light bulb and I could open my garage from like 50 feet away. Because tungsten light bulbs are hot when turned on, it burned a hole on the plastic cover of my garage door opener. I switched to a regular LED bulb and I was no longer able to open my garage within 10 feet away. I decided to give this one a try. It works a lot better although I still cant open my garage 50 feet away. I would say it works fine but slight radio interference still exists.
