I purchased this filter for my WAC9500. When I received it I found that it was not an exact fit. In fact, it is too large to fit into the filter frame that also holds and centers the carbon filter. After reading some of the reviews here I found that the filter will fit if you insert it directly into the unit without the filter frame. Unfortunately some folks have suggested that you put the hepa filter in first then the charcoal filter after, and at least one other suggesting you dont need the charcoal filter because the hepa filter is so good. If you put the charcoal filter in after the hepa filter, dirty air will flow through your charcoal filter and render it useless, and ultimately, cause a decrease in the efficiency of your entire filter unit. The charcoal filter is only there to filter out chemicals and odors, not dirt particles. If you are not concerned about using the filter to its full potential, just leave out the charcoal filter... you essentially have a Winix 5500 at that point (which by the way, this replacement filter fits perfectly). I put my charcoal filter in first, then the hepa filter, then the fine mesh and finally the large particle mesh. I did this by setting the unit on its back and trying to keep the charcoal filter centered. This is not ideal but is the closest you can get to original without buying the more expensive replacement... which I will be doing next time. I gave this 3 stars only for the fact that it is not a true replacement for the WAC9500.

We got these portable filter units a couple years ago when we started getting a lot of wildfire smoke blowing around, and theyve worked just fine since getting them. Replacing the filters requires about twenty seconds worth of time total - hit the power button to turn off the unit, pull off the magnetically attached hard front cover, pull the little tabs on the permanent screen filter to pull it off, pull the tabs on the hepa filter and remove it along with the black charcoal filter, place the new hepa filter in place (make sure the air flow arrow points into the machine and not towards you), place the new black charcoal filter on top of the hepa filter, snap in the permanent screen filter, place the tabs on the hard front cover in their slots and rotate to engage the magnetic hasps, and finally hit the button to turn the unit on again. The filtration system works fine - we left the house for a weekend getaway and when we came back there was no noticeable odors in the house whatsoever. Remember to use the brush attachment on your vacuum to suck off the dust that accumulates on the permanent screen filter once every seven to ten days and itll work just fine.

It fits the models we bought this for. We’ve had good experiences with previous purchases. No complaints here.

I ordered the Winix 115115 Replacement Filter A for my Winix 5500. Received the item. Came in sealed Winix box in new condition, no issues there. When I replaced the old filter I noticed a few things, the new one has a white frame while the old had a blue, the pull tabs are on the top and bottom while the old ones were on the sides, and it fits in the unit much tighter, and it has a slight smell to it “new filter smell I guess”. When I turned the unit on I noticed the airflow is greatly reduced and it never kicks into “bad air” mode now. This made me do a little more research and I found that what my unit had in it originally is the Winix 115122 G filter set. This filter costs twice as much as the Winix 115115 A filter I had just bought. The A filter may be doing a fine job but I will be replacing it with the more expensive G filter. I think it probably does a better job than the A and I worry about burning out the unit from the reduced airflow from the A. I am giving 3 stars. There is really nothing wrong with the filter and the packaging was perfect. It’s just not the right filter for my unit. Different issue, when I look at this order and another one received at the same time it states that this was delivered and handed directly to a resident. Yet I was home and got the email that my item was delivered so looked out the door and found them sitting on the step. The delivery person had not rang the doorbell nor had I heard a knock, and it certainly wasn’t handed to anyone in the house.

Bottom line: This is authentic, original replacement filter. Even though I wish the prices would go down on these filter, this is my 3rd time ordering. I have really thought about ordering the after market ones because they are much cheaper, but for my health and the quality of air I breath, I will stick to these. These usually last me 10-12 months. It is amazing how incredibly dirty the filter becomes, which means it is doing its job. It gives me great joy to replace the filter with a brand new, fresh filter to keep fighting the dust fight! Hope my review helps!

At one time I chose the less expensive generic filter package. The generic was a really bad choice because the carbon filters produced a black dust while installing and the Hepa filter lasted half as long as a branded filter. This filter is easy to install (no dust) and keeps air cleaner for longer.

Works well. Never had a problem with these. I think they’re better for small rooms. Don’t notice a difference in larger areas or rooms. I find the hepa filter doesn’t last a full year so it’s good the price isn’t too high. The only problem is Amazon’s drivers are either too lazy and/or totally incapable of following delivery instructions.

We have the 9500 and used the work arounds that people are posting with NO issues. Its a great alternative to buying the more expensive 119110 cartridge. Thanks everyone for posting instructions--very helpful! I found these instructions in the Q&As The 115115 HEPA replacement filter will fit the WAC9500 unit if you first remove the complete original filter cartridge that came with the 9500. Insert the 115115 filter into the unit fist (where the cartridge used to be) and then insert one of the black carbon filters so that the black carbon filter is facing the front of the unit and is on top. You should replace the black carbon filter once every three months which is why you get four of them when you purchase a 115115 filter. If you prefer the plastic cartridge filter, then order this model: 119110.

The Winix 115115 Replacement Filter A is a complete one year filter set. The True HEPA Filter captures 99.97% of particles and impurities as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, mold, dust, pet dander and hair, other allergens and cigarette smoke. The 4-pack Carbon Filters traps large particles, extending the life of the True HEPA filter and absorbs odor in the environment. Compatible with Winix air cleaner models C535,5300-2,6300-2,AM90,P300,5300,6300
