> 3 dayThese filters are a replacement for the entire plastic cartridge filter unit that comes with your Winix. That plastic overly-complicated thing you will need to just toss out. Quality seemed good. Mine looked as good as the main product photo. White goes in first then one of the the black pre-filters. The white main filter fit perfectly. On mine the black pre-filter wants to lean forward when vertical. When running it gets pulled in fine. It is probably possible to hold it in place better with bits of masking tape or something. Mine is always running so I didnt bother. Black filter gets changed every 3-4 months. Works well and beats having to buy some $100 highway-robbery replacement which I dont think I could get myself to do... Oh yea, there is a smell from the pre-filter, but it goes away after a few days.

21-11-2024I ordered this after having purchased a more expensive filter for my Winix that hadnt fit and always left me wondering if it was working well. I received this in the mail an ran home to put it in, finding it fit snugly and made things run much more like when I had originally purchased my air filter. Thank you so much for creating this product and making it so I dont have to search for another air cleaner that works as well as the one I have...And I thank whoever it was that wrote a great review telling me how well it worked for him. Now there are two of us! No problems with this product at all...:)

Greater than one weekFor folks with the Winix 9500 model - the HEPA filter w/ the 4 carbon sheets, is NOT the exact duplicate as the filter you got with ur original purchase. 1) the carbon filter are carbon sheets, whereas the original are actual activated carbon pieces in a filter container. 2) since the activated carbon pieces are washable, the carbon sheets arent necessary. 3) the carbon sheets do not fit perfectly into the 9500 bc without the container that holds the activated carbon pebbles, the carbon sheets do NOT sit perfectly inside. There will be gaps on the side. 4) even the HEPA filter doesnt close all the gaps on the side bc it isnt reinforced by the original plastic filter that holds the HEPA filter and activated carbon. 5) I hear the followes HEPA may fit into the original plastic filter. That may be the better cheaper option. My 9500 was an overkill. I just want a fast and quick dust use the plasma wave. In fact do not use it if ur in the room, while you sleep, and let fresh air in to remove any O3 from your room. I use O3 to remove organics from the sump of my fish tank. You = organic. :) If you really want my opinion? Just buy activated carbon, make sure you water cleanse it(powdery), dry and replaced exhausted activated carbon. Bc honestly, carbon gets exhausted eventually. Find the HEPA (followes?)filter that will actually FIT the original filter. Done. But if youve got money to burn, get the 99$ filter on Amazon. It replaces the whole filter(HEPA+Carbon pebble filled filter+original plastic filter that holds both parts). Ill prob do that next year, if I cant find a HEPA filter n activated carbon pebbles + filter to hold it, separately.

> 3 dayThis filter is NOT a proper, direct replacement for the CASSETTE HEPA filter that came with the new air cleaner. The original had two smaller paper filters and a honey combed charcoal filter, and all of the filters mounted together in a plastic cassette, with a front mounted Pre-Screen useful for catching pet hair. This replacement completely negates the cassette, the charcoal filter is just a sheet that you have to cut to fit, it has no support to keep it from pulling toward the fan, and the original filters pre-screen to catch pet hair has no cassette upon which to be attached, so one cant use it! I just bought FOUR of these filters for three U450s and one U300, and I am not happy about it. Advertising this filter as a replacement for the WINIX U450 and U300 is TOTALLY MISLEADING THE CONSUMER! It LOOKS like a replacement for the filters within the cassette, but it isnt. Again, this is NOT like the original filter unit that came with the WINIX U450 or U300 PlasmaWave Air Cleaner. If you dont need the pre-screen and are willing to use two charcoal filters, one before the paper filter to catch hair and one behind it, then it may work. Remember you have to trim the charcoal filters to fit. Use the paper filter as a template, if you choose to do this. I was going to send these back, but I ordered them for two different addresses and returning would be such a hassle that Ill just use them for a couple of months, and contact WINIX to find out how to order the CORRECT filters for my air cleaners. I will say that I am very disappointed with my purchase of these, but I should have contacted someone directly to ascertain these were correct, and I merely went with the reviews and pictures, assuming theyd work with the existing original cassettes. Live, Suffer, and Learn.

> 3 dayProduct was delivered when promised. This is a replacement filter for a Winix Air Purifier. Keeping one on hand seems like a good idea.

> 3 dayI bought a number of the Winix air cleaners when they were on sale. The whole machine was less than a single Plasmawave replacement filter. Then there were the fires in Paradise and elsewhere and the air quality became so bad my smoke alarms were going off. For a fire 200 miles away. Fortunately I had the Winix air cleaners installed and they did a great job. I have a laser particulate measuring system for air quality (for arguments with my wife- totally worth it!) that showed indoors the air quality was several hundred fold better than outdoors for the two particle sizes. counted. The carbon coated filters need replacing every few months as they prefilter the dog hair and general linty things floating about. The HEPA filters filter out the micron range bits. After a year you can visibly see the filter color darken as it loads up on schmutz too small to see (lasers can count them without a problem). A lot of that is pollen and other stuff you dont want to think about. So once a year they get recycled. I went for the original Winix because sometimes other brands dont fit right (the seal has to be air tight around the filter or you defeat the purpose of the filter). And I know for certain the Winix filters work because I tested them, so its worth a few extra bucks once a year to use filters I can count on. The whole family gets allergy shots so this helps keep the air inside as healthy as possible. A couple of times a year the pollen is so thick you need to wash it off your car so if thats a problem, this is a solution.
