Hakko FX601-02 Adjustable Temperature Controlled Soldering Iron, 67 Watts

This is really a nice iron. I had another brand but I have been using this and it’s working so much better. The temp is staying consistent

I used it once and I noticed that it wouldnt melt the solder right, but i thought it was probably my flux or something else. But, then the second time i used it, it didnt heat up anymore. I waited almost an hour to see if it heated up, but no. I disconnected it and connected it again and it didnt heat up anymore.

It works very well, the cord is too heavy and not pliable for a iron that is energy efficient that is an overkill.

I make stained glass for a living and this iron is a complete game-changer. The temperature control is amazing it is small but packs ALOT of punch. You wont regret upgrading for a moment after using this iron one time it really is best of the best.

Is this used? Why is there already solder on the tip? Is this normal?

I had to return this as I made the stupid mistake of ordering a 120v product for use in a 240v country. Again. Anyways, it looked pretty sturdy and Hakko has a great reputation. I ended up with a TS100 which works just fine for me and my hobbies. Love this for my stained glass work. Lighter weight than other soldering irons, especially important for my previously injured wrist. Quickly heats to set temperature, so no waiting time. Only drawback is - must unplug to turn off - have solved this by attaching to a power strip with an off switch.

Unfortunately the soldering iron was faulty as only the handle heated up. It seems as though this was the case for a fair few others. The Return process was easy though.

The unit performs great and allows the temperature to be optimal for stain glass work
