> 3 dayI can no longer get Ungar soldering irons, but this is a little better. I used this for a few hours (on coax cable RG-213, PL-239 and 1/4 ring terminals)... It warms up quick. Plenty of controllable heat. Learning the right temp settings for different jobs takes some time. Use a holder (a coffee cup works!) Keep wiping on a wet sponge, clean your work and solder with alcohol. I use bright lights and a magnifier. My compliments to the makers of this excellent soldering iron.

19-11-2024Love this iron. I was thinking it would be bigger but it doesnt matter. It works so well. Ive gone through 4 soldering irons going up in price each time finally ending up with this, the most expensive. Well worth it!!

> 3 dayIve been using the Hakko iron for years in my stained glass studio. Recently mine broke and needed replacing. Im so grateful to have found one on Amazon instead of trekking to my closest glass shop (2 hours away). What I like most is the temperature control. Changing the temp allows me to make decorative beading in the solder.
