> 3 dayJust like many of the other reviews, I also love this iron. This well put together kit will have you prepared for most soldering and desoldering projects.

> 3 dayVERY VERY GOOD!!! Heats up in Second. Temperature Controlled. Also I do not have much experience in soldering electronics, I was recommended this by a person who professionally repaired TV for 20 + years and reached upper level in business.

> 3 dayI was on the fence about this and the next model up. If your needs are basic and quick then the superior usability and size of this iron is best verses other Hakkos. Its built in presets makes the up arrow only not so bad. You just up arrow to the preset temp you want. You can modify those. Once set up its a one push affair to set the temp. The bad thing is the wand is too large for even my hulk hands to do fine work with. It should be impossible to do tiny resistors with. I never tried. The tip will tend to bottom out too much in temperature to do more than two pin component work. I compared this to the FX-951 at the same time. Just in soldering two wires with helping hands I could see the difference. Both irons will do that with ease. However it does show the big difference between them. Its not a lot of mass to heat in that case. If you solder an area of a PCB for more than 2 minutes and still struggle to finish, you needed to next model up or higher. If you dont with the 888D, then for sure buy this iron over the next one up. However it shouldnt encourage people by labeling it ESD safe. Im sure it is. But I really cant recommended it outside of some model RC planes and crafts.

> 3 dayUsed numerous types of irons over the years as a hobbyist but never had the opportunity to use a professional grade iron. I really wish I would have spent the money sooner. Makes a night and day difference to anything you can buy at a hobby center or radio shack (before they died). This is an amazing setup and highly recommend. I currently use this solder

Greater than one weekMissing a half star (if I could do it here) because the interface on the base station for temperature setting and presets is horrible. Otherwise it is fantastic. It heats up insanely quick. Holds temp very well against heavy loads. The iron feels great in the hand. Materials and quality are top notch.

> 3 dayAmazing solder station! Heats very quickly and accurately. I love that you can watch the temperature as you solder to ensure you are not creating cold joints. This station is the envy of my entire office (of electricians and electronics-types)! no one can believe how inexpensive it was!!

> 3 dayWork a lot better than my old variable temp pencil. Hope it lasts as long.
