I should have bought this years ago ! Its so freaking hot I just touch the PCB and tin it like water. I build circuitry for fun and for car hobbies and this works wonders. I havent been able to explore its features yet but so far its amazing.

works very well. I have soldered as hobbyist for about 30 years and have used both guns and irons. I thought I was pretty good at soldering and only occasion would have a hard time getting solder to flow. The HAkko Soldering station took my skill to the next level, and I havent experienced a single flow problem. Some reviews are negative on the lack of intuitive controls. They are mostly right, however I have had no issues adjusting the temperature. Its very easy to select and adjust the temperature, and I would not let that deter you from the purchase.

The system has been good for 4 uses over 6 months and then the power switch stuck in the on position. It was not abused in any fashion as I am a technical representative for a very prestigious aviation company using the equipment for basic wire/ terminal soldering. I cannot find contact links/ numbers to reach out for repair assistance.

After struggling with a junky radio shack soldering iron, I figured Id step up. This item is amazing. The tips are so nice and last such a long time. I run it at 750F and it does a quick and clean jog.

This is hands down the very best Soldering Iron set up I have ever owned and I have owned quite a few. I highly recommend it. It comes with a number of extra iron tips all the way from tiny to very large. They send duplicate replacement tips in the box when they ship it. It gets hot immediately , it cools to another temperature quickly. It heats up when you turn it on right away, there is nearly no wait time. The temp control works great. It is super easy to use, super easy to change temps. It fits nicely in the hand. It is made of very sturdy materials. Changing tips is super easy and simple. Let me say this, sometimes I need an Iron to get really really hot (working on tube equipment) then I need it cool and even temperature..It does this without any problem whatsoever. Take it from me spend the extra few $ and win with this station. Yes, I own it. No I am not affiliated in any way.

This unit is complicated to adjust the temp on...it also came with no manual.

Missing a half star (if I could do it here) because the interface on the base station for temperature setting and presets is horrible. Otherwise it is fantastic. It heats up insanely quick. Holds temp very well against heavy loads. The iron feels great in the hand. Materials and quality are top notch.

Awesome 1st Station for SMT soldering, solid build, easy to use and my Hakko Bundle came with a selection of tips for SMT work. I have no doubt this unit will do me as a hobbyist for a long time, I love the Hakko quality, was put off by the Fisher Price look, but its definitely a Tonka build. Have not played much with it yet other than soldering a SOIC with no difficulty, will tackle an SSOP soon. Beats my 20 year old weller hands down, you definitely need one of these to get into SMT properly at an affordable price.

Wow! This is the first soldering iron I’ve ever purchased, and I’m beyond pleased with it!! I make custom neon LED signs, & this was a great investment. I’ve only ever used it for the purpose of making neon LED signs (which involves tinning & soldering electrical wires to soldering pads on cut LED segments), but in terms of value, precision, and efficiency it gets an A+ from me! One of the best soldering stations you can buy for the money. I love that this setup comes with a lot of different tip styles and sizes. I use this daily with making custom automotive lighting and it works 100 times better than my old weller setup.
