I have to say this soldering station is outstanding, you have total control of the temperature , which is very important when you need to have when soldering very sensitive electronics . I give this product AAAAA++++

This is a great soldering station. It has very accurate temperature control, and heats up very fast. It makes soldering that much more enjoyable. The kit is nice!

And it’s still weak. Not first time I’ve soldered- electronics hobby goes back to around 1968, I’ve worked as a tech in a music store, repaired all manner of home Audio equipment and more. This ONLY worked after calibration and the instructions are woefully inadequate to describe it - typical “geek think”. Details lacking. I even used a laser thermometer and the temps still come back 200 degrees below indicated. Using chip-quik solder, paste, when it gets frustrating I get a cup of coffee or walk the dog and come back for another round. It’s very unpleasant to use. Works better, not great, after “calibration”- own a double handful of tips, have tried most all of them. not interested in buying a truly professional $600 work station but in hindsight… the old standby 25 watt Radio Shack “wood burner” just wouldn’t work on later generations of double layer blue boards and it worked fine on 50 year old phenolic boards in Revox gear. I wouldn’t buy this again, but there’s not many others near this price point that have as favorable ratings as this. I still wonder if others are reviewing the same soldering iron as I am.

Best soldering iron Ive ever owned. Programming is not very intuitive. I was able to figure it out after spending some time with it. I understand why it is the way it is. It is made to be on a manufacturing line with all the necessary features, including user lockouts.

My solder problems are over! This thing works great. I had some PC board de-soldering and soldering to do (modding an old Blues Jr Amp) and didnt want to risk complicating an already tricky job by tring to use my cheap, $20. Iron that never seems to stabilize: either too hot or too cool. This Hakko Soldering Station is highly recommended and used by pros and I see why. Precise and steady temp control and so much more than Ill need as far as features. I got this bundled with assorted tips so Ill be ready for anything that comes up in the future. Good deal all around I think.

After struggling with a junky radio shack soldering iron, I figured Id step up. This item is amazing. The tips are so nice and last such a long time. I run it at 750F and it does a quick and clean jog.
