Herschel Novel Duffel Bag

This is a quality duffel bag that is a big upgrade from the small gym bag I was trying to use for weekend and minor trips. It’s big enough to hold bulkier warmer clothes and I like the separate shoe compartment. I would recommend.

This bag is an excellent gift! I purchased this for someone else and immediately got myself a matching bag. The bag is high quality in stitching and perfect for a weekend away!

I don’t get why there are so many negative comments. This bag came exactly as pictured! I even got the camo one that everyone appears to have an issue with and it’s perfect!

It was well made and sturdy but too small for traveling for a few days which was what I needed. Good as overnight bag or gym bag. Cute pattern

Its a good weekender. Aside from the shoe pocket there arent any additional pockets. I bought it with the matching backpack and dop kit. Between the three I was able to pack enough to be comfortable for a week long trip on my boat. Though, packing for a week was a bit too much for the set, but I was able to make it squeeze in. Id say its better used for a two to three day trip. I had to bring towels, so that was a bit much for the set up.

I lied. Just like everyone else. Zipper sucks. I even returned the first through Amazon, and tried again. Same issue. What the heck!!! Seriously, if you buy this bag, I GUARANTEE you, the zipper WILL break. Dont buy this bag. Again, it looks super sharp, but zipper breaks after just a few uses. This is how Ive been carrying mine around lately (see photo). How sad for something that costs $130. ------ Incredible bag. I went with the Caramel canvas, and its sharp! Ive gotten quite a bit of comments, almost too many for just a gym bag, and Ive had it for about a week. Slightly more expensive than the other Herschel Novel bags, but absolutely worth it! The craftsmanship is exponentially better than what youd get from the standard Novel. I know, because I bought this canvas bag and a standard one and compared them side by side. Its very clear that a normal Novel would be damaged, and probably even considered useless, after only a few months (thin nylon, weak zipper, plastic fastenings); however, this one...itll last a lifetime. Think, durable canvas; wide brass zipper; and brass fasteners. Perfect for use as a weekender, overnight, or gym bag. I use it as a gym bag and, at first, was worried about the size. Then, it arrived at my house, I packed it up, and its the perfect size! Never worry about having to cram everything in the bag, or not having enough space for everything. This is especially true if youre going to the gym before work and are packing your work clothes. Everything fits nicely and comes out wrinkle free. The separate shoe compartment is awesome...never worry about getting nasty shoe gunk on your clothes. Can also double as a separate compartment for wet or extra sweaty clothes, swimsuits, etc. Internal mesh pocket is nice for keys, wallets, deodorant, etc. Only drawback is that there are no other small internal or external pockets. Would be nice to see a small pocket on the outside for quick access to those keys and wallet I mentioned before. Otherwise, fantastic bag. If youre in the market for a Heschel gym or overnight bag, skip the standard Novel line, and invest a few more bucks for this! (Disclaimer, I think this was a limited release, so good luck!)

I bought this for my boyfriend to replace a bag I got him as a gift. I’m glad I exchanged it because this bag is durable and fits a lot. It’s very nice.

Love Herschel I own multiple backpacks and fanny packs and never had an issue with quality or anything for that matter. The design is badass so I needed to buy this as my duffle. It carries A LOT. A little too big for it to be a gym bag honestly, but it does pack a lot. Separate compartment for my shoes is great. Wish there were multiple pouches inside or even on the outside. Theres one small pocket on the inside then the compartment for shoes. I dont see the issue with quality. Its sturdy and the material is thick in my opinion. Everyone compliments the design when they see it. My only complaints are the lack of/limited amount of pockets and compartments as well as the squeaking. I ignored the reviews I read and was thinking Id test my luck. Even if it did squeak, it couldnt be THAT bad right? I WAS WRONG. The squeaking is so freakin loud and obnoxious. Sometimes I need to carry it by the handle because if I hear the squeaking one more time, I will throw my bag across the courtyard and leave it. I want to switch out the strap and see if it helps. Other than that, it was worth the $90 bucks.

Bought this for a 5 day road trip and it worked perfectly. I was able to fit a pair of sneakers and sandals in the show compartment (a little snug) plus clothes and cosmetic bag. Zippers are very well made and look like theyll stand the test of time. Only complaint is there is only one internal compartment to store smaller things. Definitely will come in handy for short trips!

Shoe storage pocket is great. Interior of bag is nice. Wish it had more than one mesh pocket inside. The fake leather handles are kind of tacky.
