I was hoping to get a new, more quiet, standing fan but I wanted a remote too as many now have them. I bought one of these fans. I like the black color over the also available white. It was very easy to assemble and had good picture directions. It is a dual blade fan set up with the large main fan, and a smaller secondary fan to help push air on the lower settings. The fan blades are all plastic. Although advertised as a more quiet option, it was in fact louder than the fan it was to replace. The remote works great and you can control all the important functions with it, oscillate, speed, timer and from across the room convenience. There are also on the unit control buttons too. Overall it works as it should and it does provide a good volume of wind. I only gave it 4-stars due to the sound level. It works great and if you arent as concerned about noise it is a good purchase.

Found it fairly simple to put the fan together. The instructions were pretty good. Since this wasnt my first fan to assemble, I kind of knew how to do what. A bit odd that one part tightens clockwise, the other counterclockwise, but since they at least tell you that, and if you follow what they say, youll be fine. However, what they failed to mention which might drive some people around the bend is that theres a part that MUST BE REMOVED FIRST before putting on the rear grille (aka fan blade protector). Photo attached. It comes placed IN the holes of the rear grille and you have to remove it before you can fit the grille onto the pins. It looks like it should attach to the shaft itself in some way but trust me, it doesnt. I found that by slightly bending in each point of the triangle, you can unhook it from the grille and remove it. Another thing that might have helped would have been to explain which way the blades go. That is, which side faces front and which faces the rear. Its pretty obvious, but did give me pause. And for people with no mechanical ability, lets just say it might be challenging. One other thing I might mention: When I assembled it, the front of the fan was not facing the same direction as the controls. It was about 40 degrees swiveled to the right. With my other fans I can just pull up the little knob on top and swivel the blades left or right at will. But I wasnt sure I should do that in this case (since there was no such knob) and so I called customer service. The robot answers with Helen of Troy then mentions another company with no mention of Honeywell, and so I wasnt sure if I had been given the right number, but it IS the right number. So dont be as confused as I was. And the customer service person couldnt have been nicer! She told me NOT to try to swivel the fan by hand, but to turn it on, put it on oscillation and stop it at the point where its lined up with the control panel. Have only had the thing about a minute so cant speak too much on that front. But it was really nice and quiet! Will report back if I have any problems. ================ Reporting back in a/o 9/21/21. The variable wind feature doesnt seem to work correctly on mine. It slows to a COMPLETE stop and then starts back up again. I dont think this is the way its support to act. And its a rather absurd feature to my mind. So Ive lowed my star rating. Its also not as powerful as my old 14 metal non telescoping fan.

Update: It has been over a year now (I bought a black one in March 2019) and the fan is still running perfect! The lows are still calm/quiet and high is what it should be. I really love that the low on this fan is fairly quiet (it has not gotten louder or started rattling on any speed over time like some fans I’ve had) and the air feels great. I can feel it on low across the room about 8 feet away (haven’t used it further away than that due to space). We don’t seem to use the remote much so I can’t give thoughts on it. At the time I need a new fan for my living room and have been debating getting a more expensive one like Rowenta but after seeing that the Honeywell one we have had for over a year is running great and easy to clean as well as cost much less than Rowenta, I’ll be getting another Honeywell double blade. I’d recommend it! So far so good. Seems pretty durable, noise levels are great, and most of all I love that I’ll be able to disassemble it to be cleaned unlike other fans and box fans. I know at some point this fan will have issues as they all do but it’s great for what I wanted! Oh and the remote is pretty neat. There’s multiple settings, you can have it oscillate, there are 3 speeds, there’s another feature that I believe changes the air flow (still figuring this one out it’s kind of strange to me, I usually just have it on the normal constant fan setting which is the button that turns it off as well when you press it a certain amount of times), and lastly this fan also has timer settings.

Ive had two of these for nearly a year, and theyve been flawless so far. Ive bought a gazillion fans over the last 30 years, and one feature that I always look for is ease of cleaning. The cage and blades are inevitably going to get filthy and reduce efficiency. There are quite a few fans out there that have protective covers that are pretty easy to take off, but the blades and rear cage wont come off without some work. With this fan, it ALL comes apart in about 20 seconds flat and zero tools. Blades and BOTH sides of the protective cages. I can take them all off in 20 seconds, spray them off in the shower, and re-assemble them in a couple minutes. And they look like NEW!!! I dont need to use any rags or tools like on so many other fans. This is the most ridiculously easy-to-clean fan that Ive ever seen. And of course cleaning it will increase its efficiency. I just dont understand why other fan makers dont follow the idea of making a fan hella easy to clean.

Bought this to replace my old Honeywell fan. We use this fan in the bedroom because our townhouse doesn’t circulate air upstairs very well. We usually keep it running all the time. Our last one, same fan just previous model, lasted about 3-4 years I think. Again, that’s with running it almost constantly! These fans give a good, strong airflow. This newer model runs quieter than the old one. The fan itself was easy to assemble and all settings can be adjusted with the remote as well. I definitely recommend it!

This fan is easy to assemble. It took me ~10 minutes. The cap on the fan shaft had to be turned clockwise to remove it. The fan has 3 speeds and 3 types of air circulation (constant, variable quiet for sleeping, and variable strong). I measure the noise at 6 feet with a decibel meter. At the lowest constant speed, noise is ~44db. At the highest constant speed, it is ~58db, definitely noisy. Using variable quiet speeds for sleeping, noise fluctuates between 33db and 51db. Frankly, I do not like the variable cycling noise generated by this variable cycle at all. It stays at 33db for no more than a few seconds. I also have the Honeywell Quietset Pedestal fan and that one is much quieter. At the slowest speed, the noise is 32db. The next speed #2 level brings 35db. The next speed #3 is 38db. Speed #4 is 41db. Speed #5 is 45db. All measurements are looking straight at the fans. When the fan oscillates, noise will vary since when the electric motor is sideways to the microphone, noise will be 1-2db higher. In terms of airflow strength, the double fan is stronger, but for sleeping, I prefer the Quietset fan. Its slowest and quietest speed is good enough.

I was very impressed with this fan when I bought it in May of 2020. It made a very strong breeze, enough that on the lowest setting it would blow hair away from your face from 10ft across the room. Unfortunately as time progresses the motor seems to be going out very quickly. We use the fan every night, and turn it off in the morning. When we first got it I would leave it on the lowest setting and would feel the breeze while sleeping. After a few months the lowest setting couldnt be felt more than 4ft from the fan. We switched it to the medium setting and that had the same amount of power as the lowest setting did orginally, and worked for another 3 months or so. Now you can barely feel any sort of breeze again. I am highly disappointed in how quickly this fan declined, especially considering the price paid for it. If it had kept the same amount of power it would have been a great product.

Used it from January 2019. Still going. I guess good thing I reviewed this now, out of boredom at night. Within this past year, it has been getting stuck. It would oscillate, but wont do the full motion. It would get stuck 1/3 of the way to the right (if you were facing the fan) then go left OR it would get stuck. Might need to look into it and see if I need to grease up the mechanism or clean it up. The other issue I have is with the remote. Regardless if it has new batteries or slightly used batteries, no matter if Im pointing just right or not, the remote response is very picky. Straight on or it wont respond. I use it for white/grey noise at night or when I do get overheated. Usually for night time sleeping. So, Im using the lowest fan speed all the time.
