Unfortunately, I go through a lot of fans. I bought this one for upstairs [although its currently downstairs]. Like many homes, the second floor is hotter due to the sun coming through the window and the AC isnt enough to keep it cool. There are several different air speeds, which can be controlled manually or via remote. The biggest features include its well made material [which is well made and not too heavy when moving around the house], several different air flow options, easy to clean (especially important when you have doggies in the house), and its ability to cover a large space. Unlike other fans, I never get cold. The remote is sleek, lightweight and easy to use. The negatives: a) its kinda quiet [which depends on the person] which I dont mind upstairs but when sleeping prefer it to be a little louder, b) the remote doesnt light up at night. Therefore, if you wake up in the middle of the night and need to adjust will need to pull out your cell phone to see the display and c) the red light display at night. Its almost like a light on a cable box, but if youre a light sleeper--sometimes it makes it harder to sleep. Overall though, highly satisfied great fan!!!!

    Greater than one week

Used it from January 2019. Still going. I guess good thing I reviewed this now, out of boredom at night. Within this past year, it has been getting stuck. It would oscillate, but wont do the full motion. It would get stuck 1/3 of the way to the right (if you were facing the fan) then go left OR it would get stuck. Might need to look into it and see if I need to grease up the mechanism or clean it up. The other issue I have is with the remote. Regardless if it has new batteries or slightly used batteries, no matter if Im pointing just right or not, the remote response is very picky. Straight on or it wont respond. I use it for white/grey noise at night or when I do get overheated. Usually for night time sleeping. So, Im using the lowest fan speed all the time.

I have bought this particular model fan at least 4 times previously. This purchase was made as a standby as my current fan may be on its last legs after about 3 years of daily use. The fan operates quietly largely because the fan speeds are lower than most fans but for me quiet operation is most important which is why I like it. The remote is also simple to use and assembly is easy as well. The only caution with this fan is that as it ages the blades may not spin unless you first hand spin the fan a little, much like how those old biplanes of old were started by hand spinning the props. Once this begins to happen, you know that its days are numbered.

This fan is a little smaller than I expected at 15 but I stuck with it anyway due to the price. I like the remote control (small and convenient buttons) and I do like that the fan has the oscillation features I was looking for, but it would be better as a 5 speed fan. The low setting is too high/noisy for my taste as I use this for sleeping and it blows harder than I like on some nights and due to the smaller size blades, its making more noise than my previous fan. Id prefer a lower setting and larger blades so it moves more air but is quieter while doing so. As for the high setting, it didnt quite cut it as it was too close to the low setting for what I like. Id use it after a shower to try and cool off and would prefer a much higher speed on the top end. But I think the smaller size unit at 15 is partly to blame. I also didnt care for the oscillating function when it came to stops on either end. As it rotated, you can sometimes hear a click as it rotates to the other side and that just didnt work well some nights when I was trying to sleep. As it stands now (1 year, 10 months later) it is making a LARGE grinding noise and is done with oscillating (thats why Im here writing this review as I need to shop for a new fan). So its not a bad a fan for the price, especially if you arent going to use it at night in your bedroom to sleep (ceiling fan wasnt an option for me, I sleep hot while the wife sleeps cold, so I have this fan on my side of the bed). But for me, it just didnt get the job done, so Im back looking for a more durable fan with a remote control and five speeds and hopefully a better quality oscillating gear inside.

To start, the instructions for putting this thing together are pretty awful. You just need to feel your way through it. There arent too many parts, so its not that difficult when you finally have the gist of it. I will say the way the cage is assembled is super easy and convenient, as Ive assembled Lasko fans that needed screws to tighten the cage, and this Honeywell fan has a convenient set of thumb latches. That was nice. Once assembled and working, you realize the fan is only about 4 feet tall. Its really not very tall at all. I was a little put off by this at first - most whole-room pedestal fans are around 5 feet tall. Not this one, its definitely a little shorter. And the remote? It feels a little cheap - mechanical buttons and cheap plastic. But it works and controls everything about the fan. I wish the fan itself had a place to mount the remote when not in use - I know itll eventually get misplaced and disappear completely. However, all the negative out of the way, the operation of the fan itself is pretty amazing. Its quiet, its cool, and it blows air a great distance at its highest setting, and does a great job even at its lowest setting. Its got two variable wind settings that change the wind intensity every few seconds so it doesnt have to be a constant stream of air - never experienced a fan with that option before. All the important things a fan should do, this fan does it, and thats why I bought it - and hence why Im giving it 5 stars. Totally would recommend this fan to anyone. Ive only had it a couple of days, so I cannot yet comment upon longevity. But so far, Im super happy with this thing!

Product arrived well packed (an understatement) and with all pieces (YEA). Only irritant was that black V plastic part instructions didnt indicate should just be snapped off. Spent a couple of minutes looking stupid at it before deciding it wasnt needed. More metal and fewer plastic parts than most. Sixteen inch base is probably the best compromise between stability and size for easier placement. It would probably take at least a 40 pound plus dog to do a header on it to knock it over. What is very good about the metal cage around the fan blades is its tight tolerances and all metal clips (another Yea since no screws) . Youd have to hit it with a hammer to loosen it once the clips are fastened. Someone said that blowing though a straw gave more airflow than this fan. Utter nonsense. After going through many fans (floor and otherwise) for over 40 years of purchases this fan pushes as much air (or more) for the amount of noise it generates than most manufacturers (unless you want a commercial type). The low fan setting pushes more air and generates less sound than previous Lasko & Vornado purchases. Im assuming part of this is the double blade design since the blades dont look all that different from previous purchases. You do have to cycle through fan speeds as with many other units but I dont find that an irritant as others might if it keeps costs down and merely involves pressing a button more than once. I wonder what people would say if they had to go back hand cranking an auto to start it even if the cost was half and you got 80 mpg. The unit stands tall enough to blow air over a 26 high mattress and bed. If youre on a bed or sitting in a chair the height of the fan is certainly adequate. I know opinions will vary on this, but the fan is about 36 from the foot of a queen size bed and IMO the airflow and sound on low is suitable for night sleeping. The remote has to be pointed directly at the unit to work from my usage, but I assume you know where the fan is when you want to use it. Its just another one of those hard facts of life, like knowing where all your remotes and house keys are when you need them (and gasp if they need batteries).

I wanted to replace the floor fan we have that is just too loud even on a low setting. We have a Rowenta Turbo Silence in our bedroom but their floor fans are over $150. This Honeywell is only $50 and claimed to be quiet. And has a remote... Sounded like a deal. If it were not for the cheap price, it would be a 3 star product. PROS: 1. Cost. 2. Easy installation. It appears easy to take apart as well for periodic dust removal. CONS: 1. The base is very cheap. It started to crumble in my hand as I grabbed it to start the installation. See the pic. Its got two chunks missing and it want even set up. 2. It is NOT all that quiet. Compared to my old stand fan, its a bit better. (So I am keeping it). But its quiet mode should be described as annoying... High/Low or On/Off... It would not be appropriate for sleeping. The description is misleading. If you think youre getting a low-noise fan, keep looking.

My Duracraft fan was a gift for my wife and I when we we got married. over 20 years later it finally started to die. We live in a ridiculously hot state (AZ) and ran it every night for a decade, then the next decade I ran it in the window of our dining room into my office to save money on A/C costs. I didnt think anything could replace this fan... so I started looking for another Duracraft pedestal fan... but they no longer exist. Honeywell apparently bought duracraft and now make a similar pedestal fan but even better. I hope this fan stands the test of time as well! It is fairly quiet even thought I run it on high most of the day. The remote is amazing! No more reaching into the window and turning off the fan by hand.

Ive been using this Honeywell double blade 16 pedestal fan for year daily. It replaced a Honeywell single blade pedestal fan than I have had for 10 years so far, and it was still working the same as the day I bought it. I was looking to get something that had more functions on the remote control, moved a bit more air, and was a tad quieter. What I wound up with was a big upgrade in going to this new double blade fan. It has a weighted base, so now the fan doesnt fall over when a gust of wind comes through the window. The base is also smaller in diameter, making it easier to place. The remote controls the swivel movement of the fan in additional to the speed, modes, timer, and power. The double blade fan moves noticeably more air than the single blade fan and is also quieter. On low this fan moves quite a bit of air and is very low noise. The remote also has really good range and wide angle, so you dont even have to point the remote directly at the fan. I have the fan in white, and they supply a bright red fan blade cap that is behind the Honewell badge on the fan guard. It looks so out of place and makes you wonder why that isnt white too. I am extremely happy with this fan, and it is even better than I was expecting.
