I’ve liked this fan since we got it back in 9/2019. The speeds are great and, up until recently, it was pretty darned quiet on low, which is the speed it’s on most of the time. It’s now got a very noticeable and distracting hum. The blade noise drowns it own on high speed. I only use this fan during the summer, but it got more use this past summer than all of its use before combined. It’s still quite good and I won’t even consider replacing it yet, but if you’re looking for something silent on low, this ain’t it. Also, FWIW, I can only really sleep with fan/filter/AC fan noise. On low, this hum isn’t what I would consider pleasing enough to use it for sleeping purposes.

I have bought this particular model fan at least 4 times previously. This purchase was made as a standby as my current fan may be on its last legs after about 3 years of daily use. The fan operates quietly largely because the fan speeds are lower than most fans but for me quiet operation is most important which is why I like it. The remote is also simple to use and assembly is easy as well. The only caution with this fan is that as it ages the blades may not spin unless you first hand spin the fan a little, much like how those old biplanes of old were started by hand spinning the props. Once this begins to happen, you know that its days are numbered.

It has multiple modes and the settings for each strength and type of wind are perfect for each. Couldn’t recommend more.

Cant speak to endurance yet as Ive only had it a month, but otherwise like it. My most important qualification for fans is the ability to wash it, and this one just has clips to take off the grill so that will be easy. Assembly was pretty easy too. Its not super quiet but it doesnt bother me (low speed is quiet though). And I thought it would just be a useless feature, but I actually like the variable speed / breeze thing its got going. Sometimes a steady speed just isnt right and this adds options. I may buy another one!

We got this fan as a replacement and while its good in its own right (so far), it didnt work for our immediate need. We have two of our pedestal fans connected to smartplugs for voice/routine control and that works great when the fans can remember their settings during power-off/power-on, but this one does not. Every time we want this fan on we need to manually turn it on and move the speed up to Hi. Fortunately we use three pedestal fans in total so we mitigated the problem by moving fans around so our two mechanical-control fans are on the smartplugs. That aside, this fans seems to be of good quality for our simple needs. Theres good difference between the speeds, sound is where we like it (for some nighttime white noise), and its of solid construction. I cant comment on the remote control since I havent even put batteries in it. No interest there as wed end up losing the remote anyway. I wouldnt have even gotten a remote controlled fan except it was the correct price point with good ratings.

The set up was rather simple came with detailed instructions if needed. I turned it on and was stunned about how quiet it was! So far so good!!

About the airflow, you will notice the difference and appreciate it, has quiet air sounds. Its rather heavy. kids under 10 years old, and elderly people over 70 years old, may have trouble moving the fan. It would have to be a very large breed dog to knock this over. Lights up! very pretty blue lights on the fan, and the remote is a Plus. Fan remotes are just as important as tv remotes in some homes.

I bought the Amazon Basics fan first, this Honeywell is almost the same! The problem with the Amazon fan was it came w/o the remote, worked great, but I paid extra for the remote, so we sent it back, problem was they were out of stock for a re-order! Thats why we chose the Honeywell, same Double Blade fan set up, about the same price, and it came with a remote! The only differences between the 2 are,,,,,The Honeywell has clips that close the area where the blades are, and it better then the Amazon strap that goes around, which is very difficult to put on, and would be difficult to remove, and put back on to clean blades! The other difference between the 2 is the Honeywell is about 6 inches shorter then the Amazon Basics, we liked the taller one better, even though that could have been a foot taller! Both are very quiet running, not an irritating noise, both put out a lot of air because of the double blade set up! And Yes wed buy the Honeywell again first, because of the easy clips that open up the cage to clean! The only reason we grade this at 4 stars and not 5,,,,it needs to be 12-18 inches taller, are you listening Honeywell!-)) Update,,After approx 6 months, this Honeywell runs great, when I turn it on low, my wife puts on her sweater!-)) Gonna buy another later this year when they go on sale! next update bought a second one and both run great!

The fact that this came with no extended warranty (and a rather high price tag compared to other fans) it’s worrisome to me; l hope it last. It’s rather heavy duty. I have a lot of experience putting fans together, so I was ok. Less experienced people would probably feel otherwise. I wanted a fan with a good remote, good brand and that provided a strong wind. In those fronts it delivers. It has a good range of motion and on slow and medium you can barely hear it; on high you do but it ain’t too bad. However, that extra blade? I find it GIMMICKY. I don’t feel that it provides me of any benefit. It was kind of a pain to install two blades so I kinda dread fan cleaning time now. The apparent purpose of that smaller blade is for something that I really don’t like: a variable speed option. It has its intended purposes, but instead of slowing the fan down and up it pretty much turn it off and back on (which made me panic because I thought that there was something wrong with the fan.) But I re-read the manual (a manual. For a fan. Next: a manual for sandals) and it’s a feature designed to provide the user with a calmer sleep. Well it made me panic so, so much for calm. If you are in the market for a sturdy, strong fan with a responsive, easily laid out remote control, the Honeywell Double Blade delivers. But the rest is really nothing to call grandma about.
