> 3 dayIronically, the 4-pin plug on this which is made to go into the vehicles 4-pin plug had rubber shielding around the metal terminals to create a seal. I installed this on an 03 F150 which also had said shielding. The two wont work together, only one end is to have this shielding or boot. But fear not as the fix is easy: I just took a utility knife and cut the rubber off the plug on this Hopkins unit. It then plugged into the truck fine. Otherwise, these are not of the most robust construction. Hopkins also sells a more heavy duty adapter under the Endurance line which is of better construction. Ive used both and will opt for the Endurance in the future. The Endurance is gray in color and has a raised X on the 7-pin cover.

> 3 dayI love this adapter. Very affordable, and has many applications. I use the 7 pin connector on all my vehicles and trailers. But on the family farm almost every think still uses the 6 round, including the vehicles. Nowhere have I found a 5 pin round (vehicle end) to 7 pin blade (trailer). So I buy these and cut off the 4 pin flat (on the wire harness) and connect the wire harness to a 6 pin round vehicle connector. So now I have a 6 round to 7 blade and a bonus 4 pin flat adapter to plug into the farm vehicles so they can pull my trailers. I find that you can buy 7 blade to 4 flat, or 5 round, or 6 round adapter. But no one makes a 5 round to 7 bladed adapter. Surely Im not the one with this need..

> 3 dayWell made product, comes with a mounting bracket, which is not noted in the description. Wiring is easy, follows the standard 7 pin wire colors. The material is a hard plastic, instead of a rubberized plastic, which may be more prone to breaking in colder temperatures. Convenient 4 pin connector and 7 pin connector in one is a bonus. I would recommend this product to a friend.

06-06-2025Installed very easily onto my existing 4-pole connector on my 1997 GMC pickup. Found a good lip under the bumper to bolt my bracket to, and made my own ground on the frame for the ground wire. Havent actually hooked it up yet, but a multi-meter shows 12V power in the correct spots when various vehicle functions occur: blinker, tails, brakes, etc.

> 3 dayI too fell victim to the suggested mounting bracket. I didnt read any of the reviews since I knew I wanted Hopkins products for my tow vehicle. This kit already includes the bracket with it. I too wont be returning the >$5 bracket since shipping alone will be about that much, but that is not Hoppys fault. This is a slam dunk for trailer hookup. No more need to carry the 7 pole to 4 flat adapter (greasy item rolling around in glove box). The holes in the included mounting bracket matched up perfectly to the pre-drilled holes in the Reese hitch I purchased at the same time. This along with the Hopkins/Hoppy t-connector trailer wiring kit just reached to allow me to make all of my connections without any extra splicing. Pack the 4-flat connectors with contact grease and zip-tie the two connectors together. Wiring doesnt get any easier.

> 3 dayUsed this to wire up a Tekonsha brake controller, etc to a 2008 Toyota Sienna. Nothing particularly exciting to note here, its exactly as pictured and described. After spending some heavy cash on a kit from a particular online trailer place for my last tow kit, I found it cheaper and less wasteful to order the parts separately.

> 3 dayWorked great for over a year until the round cover broke off. There arent a lot of choices with the 7 and 4 prong plug ins. I bought it again. Will be very careful. I have a different brand one on my pickup. Its 25 years old. Hasnt broken. They dont make things to last anymore.
