> 3 dayThis product will do what is says it will do. That being said, it does not inspire confidence in heavy use situations. It does not appear very rugged. Nice that it comes with the mount, but again the mount is very thin and light and probably wont last very long. Also, the wire coloring does not match with the standard US codes. White is ground on the item, while in most cases in the US, black is the ground wire. Where was this thing made? Again, it is a good price, and a useful product, but just beware it might be very rugged or reliable. Make sure to read the enclosed documentation so that you match your wiring correctly.

> 3 dayPretty good quality! It is great for the typical install, where you tow every-so-often... For professional use (plugging and unplugging daily) it would work okay for a decent amount of time but I worry that eventually the 4 screws holding the socket to the metal bracket would begin loosening, the plastic the socket is molded from is good not great. I like the layout of the receptacles. The metal bracket could stand to be a tad thicker, but it is good enough. The wires are generously sized, and I like the look of it on the vehicle. Would definitely recommend.

> 3 dayThis item when I installed it looks and works great. We have a camper with a round 7 pin insert and waverunners on a trail with a flat 4 insert so this suits both well! The hardware that came with made the install a breeze and my wife was even impressed how nice it looks. Two words of warning though for us novices: 1) you have to ground the white wire even if you are hooking it up to an existing 4 flat connector. I drilled a small hole into my tow hitch underneath my car. 2) also when shipped the middle prong of the 7 pin adaptor is very tight- you need to separate the two clips to get your round 7 pin to fit correctly.

> 3 dayIronically, the 4-pin plug on this which is made to go into the vehicles 4-pin plug had rubber shielding around the metal terminals to create a seal. I installed this on an 03 F150 which also had said shielding. The two wont work together, only one end is to have this shielding or boot. But fear not as the fix is easy: I just took a utility knife and cut the rubber off the plug on this Hopkins unit. It then plugged into the truck fine. Otherwise, these are not of the most robust construction. Hopkins also sells a more heavy duty adapter under the Endurance line which is of better construction. Ive used both and will opt for the Endurance in the future. The Endurance is gray in color and has a raised X on the 7-pin cover.

Greater than one weekI had an old 7 pin connector ao I decided it was time to upgrade and this was great. It comes with butt connectors for auxiliary power and trailer brakes I cut those off and directly soldered them because I plan on keeping it on for years. I also bought a connector that goes in the middle of the brake/turn lights and has the 4 pin so that was really great

> 3 dayEasy to install, setup, wire up and use. Its nice to have one connection point and be able to plug pin what ever kind of trailer you might want to tow. It works great with my camper, snow mobile trailer, ATV trailer and my old beater gravel, dirt and construction material trailer. Installation: If you have a 4 wire harness already installed (like I did) you can just plug into that for all the lights, blinkers and brake lights, then simply add a break controller for trailer breaking and connect to the wiring on the multi tow adapter. It also has pass through power connections for your attached trailer- which is great for charging your camper batteries while driving down the road. We used this feature all summer while dry camping (camping with out plug in power) all over the midwest United States.

Greater than one weekBought a trailer with brakes about a year ago, but only had the 4pin trailer plug (no tow package) on my F150. Bought this piece, got it in 2 days with Amazon Prime, and installed it the same day I got it. Install took about 30 minutes (you could do it faster if youre familiar with the wiring), but overall pretty easy. 4pin plugs into the new 4pin (plug and play), splice blue wire for the actual brake controller, splice black for power, and white for ground (to metal of vehicle) -all not difficult (youtubed this video for help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWq9Fwj1D-8). Now I have braking power on my trailer (also got Curt 51110 Venturer Brake Controller and adapter for simple installation: 5min), all for almost $80 and about 45min of install time. Took trailer for a short trip and everything works great, next is 1600miles, so Ill update if something craps out. Otherwise, consider everything great.

> 3 dayWorks great. I had to change my factory 7 pin plug because I upgraded to a heavy duty hitch vs the factory one that was too small and I lost my mounting bracket that was attached from factory. There was someone else who talked about how flimsy the mounting bracket is and I have to say that has not been my experience. Used a couple oversized self tapping 5/16 sheet metal screws to hold it down screwed it in and it works perfect. Install was simple and sweet, wired into my Factory 01 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with butt connectors and heat shrink tubing, then taped it all up to protect any exposed wires. Will put up the wiring schematic for 2nd gen 98.5-02 rams if anyone else needs the info. Might be same for other Dodges, but I cant say. Center= purple/black tracer PL/BK back up lights 1 oclock= red/orange tracer RD/OR 12v Power 3 oclock= brown/red tracer BR/RD Right turn and brake 5 oclock= light blue LB Brake Controller 7 oclock= Black BK Ground , (mine has two black wires) 9 oclock= Green/red tracer GR/RD Left turn and brake 11 oclock= Black/orange tracer BK/OR Running lights.

> 3 dayI added this to an old Ford Explorer that only had a factory flat-4 trailer wiring harness. Now I have the option of towing a trailer with the RV style 7-pin or an old school flat-4 plug in it. The flat-4 portion plugs directly into the existing flat-4 wiring on the vehicle so you dont have to cut anything off of the vehicle. The only thing you have to wire in is 12V auxiliary power and back-up lights, but only if you need them. Since my trailer does not use either of those options I just taped those wires up and left them there in case I want to wire them in later. It also comes with a mounting bracket and screws so mounting it is a piece of cake. I only had to drill two holes to mount the bracket. I would definitely buy again.
