> 3 dayI love this adapter. Very affordable, and has many applications. I use the 7 pin connector on all my vehicles and trailers. But on the family farm almost every think still uses the 6 round, including the vehicles. Nowhere have I found a 5 pin round (vehicle end) to 7 pin blade (trailer). So I buy these and cut off the 4 pin flat (on the wire harness) and connect the wire harness to a 6 pin round vehicle connector. So now I have a 6 round to 7 blade and a bonus 4 pin flat adapter to plug into the farm vehicles so they can pull my trailers. I find that you can buy 7 blade to 4 flat, or 5 round, or 6 round adapter. But no one makes a 5 round to 7 bladed adapter. Surely Im not the one with this need..

> 3 dayI purchased this for an install of a tow package on my wifes 2011 Chevy Traverse. There really isnt any place to securely mount this on a 2011 Traverse. I had to fashion a 1/2 inch thick metal spacer to be able to use it. I dont recommend buying this for a Chevy Traverse as it wont work unless you have the ability to cut, drill and install a .5 thick piece of metal stock. It was a PITA but only took 20 minutes because my neighbor had a drill press and metal cutter. The product its self is well built and works. The supplied bracket is not overly sturdy and you must use caution when plugging in a trailer as it could easily be bent.

> 3 dayIve wired in a lot on a lot of cars the 7way is awesome for your camper and the 4 flat is nice to rent or if you have both stile trailers like me just back up plug in and hook up and go other then trying to find you 7 to 4 adapter you let a friend use so you got to buy anather and always use dielectricel grease on the wires and plugs and you will never have a problem with the ends by the way those 7 way to 4 flat adapters burn out this plug if kept up will last the life of a car

> 3 dayThe 4 way plug was a nice feature. I didnt need to splice that connector in. I just used my existing trailer plug. I did have to make a new ground on the truck side, probably to handle the extra load from the trailer brakes and the aux power to the trailer. The mounting bracket seems a little flimsy. But it works. Use two hands to connect and disconnect and you should be fine. I like not having to use a 7 way to a 4 way adapter for my different trailers.

> 3 dayI trailer my racecar if I have to travel more than an hour or two to a track. I usually rent a truck (Ford F-150). The rental truck comes with a 4-pin connector for lights, but not for the electric brakes. This adapter (Hopkins 47185) allows me to connect my trailer and use the electric brakes. I purchased a Curt 56110 connector so I can just plug and play. Actually the Curt 56110 is for the lights only so I bought two Curt 56110 units and used the wiring & pins from one to modify the other to include the brake wiring. The truck has all the wiring, just not the final connector for the brakes. With this set-up I unplug the factory (lights only) connector at the rear of the truck (on chassis near spare tire) and plug in my modified connector and I do not have to splice any wires to use my trailer lights and electric brakes, and just unplug it when Im done.

> 3 dayPretty good quality! It is great for the typical install, where you tow every-so-often... For professional use (plugging and unplugging daily) it would work okay for a decent amount of time but I worry that eventually the 4 screws holding the socket to the metal bracket would begin loosening, the plastic the socket is molded from is good not great. I like the layout of the receptacles. The metal bracket could stand to be a tad thicker, but it is good enough. The wires are generously sized, and I like the look of it on the vehicle. Would definitely recommend.

Greater than one weekI added this to an old Ford Explorer that only had a factory flat-4 trailer wiring harness. Now I have the option of towing a trailer with the RV style 7-pin or an old school flat-4 plug in it. The flat-4 portion plugs directly into the existing flat-4 wiring on the vehicle so you dont have to cut anything off of the vehicle. The only thing you have to wire in is 12V auxiliary power and back-up lights, but only if you need them. Since my trailer does not use either of those options I just taped those wires up and left them there in case I want to wire them in later. It also comes with a mounting bracket and screws so mounting it is a piece of cake. I only had to drill two holes to mount the bracket. I would definitely buy again.

> 3 dayWhat arrived was exactly what I ordered. There is quite a price range on similar product and I went to the center as this is for my 1999 Dodge Durango that I use only to launch my boat. What I got was impressive for the price. Everything for a complete install was included (bracket, unit, wiring, screws, etc.) and the quality is good. I wasnt expecting the leads to be sealed (wax like substance to fight water/corrosion) and this is a bonus for guys like me (again, the Dodge stays at the lake snapped to the boat and is used to launch/retrieve the boat). Also, the leads at the other end (where the wiring connects to the tow vehicle) came pre-assembled with butt connectors already attached. Not only do you not have to supply the connectors to install (I know, not a huge expense but just to call it out), but what a snap to connect to your vehicle. Just put your tow vehicle wires in and crimp. Nice! The wiring is a quality grade and the bracket is sturdy. If you are price shopping and you choose this one, expect to get more than you paid for relatively speaking.
