> 3 dayThis connector is the right one if you all ready have a trailer light connection. You only need to plug in your lights and run your wires for your brakes and 12v for camper . It has the optional wire for backup lights as well .It comes with a good bumper bracket and the necessary bolts , nuts and washers to get the job done . Once installed you have a connector for your boat or utility trailer or a plug for your camper or heavy pull trailer built into the same connection .

Greater than one weekEasy to install, setup, wire up and use. Its nice to have one connection point and be able to plug pin what ever kind of trailer you might want to tow. It works great with my camper, snow mobile trailer, ATV trailer and my old beater gravel, dirt and construction material trailer. Installation: If you have a 4 wire harness already installed (like I did) you can just plug into that for all the lights, blinkers and brake lights, then simply add a break controller for trailer breaking and connect to the wiring on the multi tow adapter. It also has pass through power connections for your attached trailer- which is great for charging your camper batteries while driving down the road. We used this feature all summer while dry camping (camping with out plug in power) all over the midwest United States.

> 3 dayWell made product, comes with a mounting bracket, which is not noted in the description. Wiring is easy, follows the standard 7 pin wire colors. The material is a hard plastic, instead of a rubberized plastic, which may be more prone to breaking in colder temperatures. Convenient 4 pin connector and 7 pin connector in one is a bonus. I would recommend this product to a friend.

> 3 dayThe number on packaging says 47185 but no bracket was included like some of the pictures show. As such, there is no way to mount it. It is useless without a bracket to mount unless you already have one or figure out which one to buy separately. As of Jan 2023, if you look at the photos for the product, you will see two different product packaging with the same 47185 item #. On one of them, the label makes it clear that the bracket is included. The other packaging does NOT indicate the mounting bracket is included. It seems I received the one without that didnt clearly list the mounting bracket as included. Since this item has been sold for years, Im assuming something changed over the years. Whether I received an old version, or a newer version of the 47185, I cant be sure. Either way, be aware there is a risk you are going to receive no mounting bracket. If you dont need the mounting bracket then this wont matter. However, I did and Im sure many/most do. If they sold the bracket separately for a few bucks, I probably would have just gone ahead and ordered the bracket. However, that doesnt appear to be the case, so I dont really know what they expect you to do.

> 3 dayBracket is thin and flimsy. It flexes too easily once its installed. You have to hold the back of the bracket when pushing a plug into the receptacle, or it would easily be bent completely over. Otherwise happy with the purchase.

> 3 dayPretty easy setup and a quality product. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the cover for the 4-pin will work itself loose and hang open. Maybe its just the one I got but thats a bit aggravating.

> 3 dayUsed it to add a 7 pin connection to 2008 Ford Expedition that came w/ the 4 pin connection. Mine had electric brake pre-wired, but no power line (black). I was able to make holes on the 4 pin connector holder and attach this adapter using nut/bolt. The wires behind the 7 pin connection touch the spare tire a bit, but I was able to install everything w/o much trouble. Looks professional, and so far no issues connecting/hauling a travel trailer.

05-06-2025It great looks good and the plug seems to be hermetically sealed on the backside to prevent any moisture or water to get into the plug great product. the only thing that IO didnt like was the bracket that it comes with. Seamed flimsy to me and I didnt have any good place to mount it. So I just=cut a hole in my bumper and mounted the plug Looks great and mounted solid..

> 3 dayIronically, the 4-pin plug on this which is made to go into the vehicles 4-pin plug had rubber shielding around the metal terminals to create a seal. I installed this on an 03 F150 which also had said shielding. The two wont work together, only one end is to have this shielding or boot. But fear not as the fix is easy: I just took a utility knife and cut the rubber off the plug on this Hopkins unit. It then plugged into the truck fine. Otherwise, these are not of the most robust construction. Hopkins also sells a more heavy duty adapter under the Endurance line which is of better construction. Ive used both and will opt for the Endurance in the future. The Endurance is gray in color and has a raised X on the 7-pin cover.
