Greater than one weekI too fell victim to the suggested mounting bracket. I didnt read any of the reviews since I knew I wanted Hopkins products for my tow vehicle. This kit already includes the bracket with it. I too wont be returning the >$5 bracket since shipping alone will be about that much, but that is not Hoppys fault. This is a slam dunk for trailer hookup. No more need to carry the 7 pole to 4 flat adapter (greasy item rolling around in glove box). The holes in the included mounting bracket matched up perfectly to the pre-drilled holes in the Reese hitch I purchased at the same time. This along with the Hopkins/Hoppy t-connector trailer wiring kit just reached to allow me to make all of my connections without any extra splicing. Pack the 4-flat connectors with contact grease and zip-tie the two connectors together. Wiring doesnt get any easier.

> 3 dayYep this is a good product. Go ahead and save yourself the headache and buy a brake controller right now. I should have purchased the 79.99 brake controller when I ordered this connector and in the pinch of the moment I then had to buy the exact same brake controller for 126.xx in a store to get the job done. Save yourself that 46 dollars and order a brake controller, in that regard, I would recommend a brake controller that has the custom pinch feature to truly control the trailer. The rig that I just set-up was a 2004 f250 v10 and the trailer Im preparing is a large 27 foot puma camper with bunks. This was a good 7 pin connector, plenty of wire and very easy to install in your factory spot. Sturdy aswell, NOT chinsy.

> 3 dayOn my particular car, there was no easy, inconspicuous, place to mount the bracket for this adaptor so I had to get inventive and make a special bracket to attach it to the car. Again, thats a design flaw of my car, not the unit itself which otherwise is excellent and works beautifully.

> 3 dayworks great after you replace the fasteners on the bracket with slightly larger ones that have nylon lock nuts. Couldnt keep the bracket tight worth a damn with the stock hardware, worked itself loose almost daily. the screws that hold the socket into the bracket were fine though. they just need to improve the bracket fasteners by making them a little bigger & using lock nuts instead of jamb nuts

09-06-2025Loved this product. It helped me to add a seven pin trailer plug to my 4 pin plug on my Santa Fe 2021 without loosingmy 4 pin. You immediately get the brake light/tail light function for your 7 plug. For trailer electrical brake you will need to install a brake controller though Very! Very limited instruction was the the only downside. I used uhaul instalation videos on YouTube that were very helpful.

> 3 dayI love this adapter. Very affordable, and has many applications. I use the 7 pin connector on all my vehicles and trailers. But on the family farm almost every think still uses the 6 round, including the vehicles. Nowhere have I found a 5 pin round (vehicle end) to 7 pin blade (trailer). So I buy these and cut off the 4 pin flat (on the wire harness) and connect the wire harness to a 6 pin round vehicle connector. So now I have a 6 round to 7 blade and a bonus 4 pin flat adapter to plug into the farm vehicles so they can pull my trailers. I find that you can buy 7 blade to 4 flat, or 5 round, or 6 round adapter. But no one makes a 5 round to 7 bladed adapter. Surely Im not the one with this need..
