> 3 dayUPDATE: 7-17-2020 Its now been 24 months since I purchased this monitor. Still love it. Its worked flawlessly .. no burned pixels or other issues. An all-round solid monitor. Planning on getting another to replace my wifes 17-er. Just a super little monitor. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ UPDATE: 10-03-2019 Its now been 15 months since my purchase of this monitor. Simply put, its worked flawlessly and has me seriously considering getting one for my wife to replace her 17. For the money, purchasing this monitor is a no-brainer. Ive been very happy with it. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As this unit has been installed for only a week, I cannot speak to long-term reliability. That said, there is a lot to like about this monitor. First .. it is important for anyone reading this evaluation to keep in mind this unit is a $90 monitor intended for basic viewing. I dont believe it was designed to be a gaming monitor even though several viewers mentioned satisfactory results when doing so. The monitor was fairly simple to assemble, however I needed to purchase a AmazonBasics DisplayPort to HDMI Cable - 3 Ft adapter for the HDMI cable as my laptops docking station only had a DisplayPort and not an HDMI port. Unit powered up without issue and has displayed a very nice, crisp picture when connected to NetFlix and streaming. There is a bit of a delay on the screen when resuming from Sleep Mode but not a big deal really. Overall Ive been pleased with the unit, particularly with the output. Im not impressed with the HP software that accompanied the monitor. The screen partitioning application (not needed at all) which emulates a very-dumbed-down version of Display Fusion doesnt behave well when resuming the monitor from Sleep. It was quickly uninstalled. Windows 10 did not immediately recognize the monitor in Device Manager so a quick trip to Windows Update provided the most current driver for the monitor. So -- at the end of the day you can keep it simple and not even use the supplied DVD unless reading Documentation is desired. Other purchasers werent happy with the external power supply wishing instead it was internal to the unit. Having been an IT tech for several years Ive seen a number of quality monitors discarded when the internal power supply failed yet the monitor panel itself having been perfectly functional. It would have been far more cost-effective to have been able to replace the power supply only. Several reviewers out there mentioned black-out or flashing on/off issues thereby denigrating the monitor itself without addressing the probability the external power supply was defective; no one appeared to address this issue as a troubleshooting possibility. The adapter is quite light and feels a tad cheap so users might consider trying to replace the adapter if performance issues (above) arise. Although an onboard USB port would have been nice, Im satisfied with what it is ... an inexpensive $90 monitor that makes working on my laptop more pleasurable for both my wife and myself. Assuming reliability extends its use beyond three years, it will have been a very nice purchase indeed.

Greater than one weekIm a designer and frantically needed a bigger monitor to connect my MacBook to. I wanted to get a decently sized and affordable monitor that wouldnt cost me an arm and a leg like a Thunderbolt would. Right around $100, this monitor had great reviews (even had a review from a fellow designer) and had same day shipping. I bit the bullet not expecting much. When it arrived, I was really impressed by how easy it was to set up - look me about 10 minutes total from opening the boxes to taking off all the plastic to get this baby up and running. Remember to purchase an HDMI to HDMI cord if youre a fellow Mac user so that you can actually use this guy. Or get a VGA to thunderbolt adapter and youll be golden. This monitor comes with a VGA to VGA cord (youve been warned). This is a fantastic product for a designer or anyone who just needs a bigger monitor. Normally Im very wary of HP products (like laptops because they all are miserable machines) but this doesnt fall into the group of things you must steer clear of.

19-11-2024I love these monitors. They look great, the viewing angle is wide, and color fidelity is very very good. I do a good deal of design and other graphic work and was very impressed with the display itself. I bought two for an event, and both were consistent, excellent units. So much so I used them at home now as secondaries and they have not disappointed. The easiest way to sum up the quality is: I see designers at my start-up being perfectly OK with sitting these next to their MacBooks. Yes, theyd rather have 27 cinema displays but reality is reality. I also noticed the design crew in the next office quietly dropped one of these on every desk not long after I showed mine off. I do have some minor complaints that dont impact the score because I cant realistically expect them at this price, but in so that everyone knows what theyre getting: 1. Theres no mounting options; you get the stand and thats it 2. The wires stick straight out of the back, rather than parallel to the screen, so you have to be careful pushing it flat up against anything 3. Color gamut isnt professional but for under $100 its pretty good All in all, one of the best bangs for the buck Ive gotten in a long time.

> 3 dayCant beat it at this price point! The monitor works well. Does what its supposed to and designed to. This is not a gaming display with fast refresh rates and super black blacks. Its a desktop monitor. I plugged it in and my old computer recognized it and it all self-adjusted on reboot. Ill update if needed when I put it on my new i7, ssd m.2 3.0 build. I expect it will be fine. Im currently using the vga cable but my new build doesnt have a vga output. Ill be using the hdmi. I take 1 star off because of HP. They are nearly the worst at hiding bloat and spyware in their driver disks. For the novice computer user, you dont know until 3 months later when your system barely runs because HP spyware has zapped all your systems resources. Fortunately, with a monitor, theres no need to use their driver disk.

> 3 dayI recently bought a gaming PC and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a monitor. I found this monitor and saw it had a lot of great reviews. I purchased one and it arrived in two days, much earlier than planned. I hooked it up to my PC and the quality was so great I ordered a second one! For how much it is, this monitor is a awesome starter. The colors are crisp and they are a perfect size. They have a really sleek design as well, which makes my dual monitor setup look great. I’m really happy with my purchase and I have already recommended them to other friends and family. I cannot stress enough how great this monitor is for $100. There’s a reason why it has so many positive reviews!!

> 3 dayI have had this monitor for over 5 years, still works perfectly so I’m just assuming those 1 star reviews are just from poor transport by the seller/self-care. I recommend using this for office work. Do NOT use this for video games. It is a subpar gaming monitor and can’t keep up with most games right now. It can’t run half of the games that I play well at all. A decent gaming monitor will cost you around $260-$350 at bare minimum, that is the route I took and I just use this as an additional for monitor for web-browsing.

> 3 dayWhen watching twitch or any video, if any browser was not maximized, then you tried to maximize it, the screen would flicker black for a fraction of a second. Turn off hardware acceleration in google chrome settings and its completely fixed for this monitor. You can maximize and un-maximize all you want and theres no flicker anymore. This is not an issue on my main monitor. Also colors look slightly different compared to my more expensive monitor thats AOC and $50 more. However if you edit the brightness to 85, and put the Black stretch off. and tinker with the contract and RGB a bit (I used the TEXT preset color settings, then messed with the RGB a bit - it can look similar to your main expensive monitor. Either way its a definite upgrade from my old non-IPS panel monitor.

> 3 dayI was a little disappointed in the monitors, although I guess for the price it was a decent bargain. The reason I wasnt so happy with them is due to three factors. First off, the AC/DC power supply for these monitors is not built into the monitor itself; its a fairly large external box. The DC section of the cord coming out of the box isnt long enough to reach from the floor to my desk, so they have to sit on my desk. I bought two of these monitors, so I have two roughly 2 x 4 boxes sitting side-by-side so about 4 x 4 of my desk is taken up by power supplies. Second, the stand for these monitors looks nice enough, but theyre very wobbly. When I type or bump the desk I can see them wobbling which is a little distracting. I have owned a lot of Dell monitors, and generally they have a very sturdy stand. Also I purchased them for dual monitor use, but the stand has the screen cocked at a slight angle, so when sitting next to each the edge of one screen was about 1/4 to 1/2 higher than the other. I stuffed a couple black plastic zip ties underneath the edge of each monitor to fix that. Annoying... And third, one of the two initial monitors I bought had a clearly visible area of the screen that was discolored. A plain white window would turn a very noticeable green hue toward the edge of the screen. Poor quality control. So these monitors are still a decent purchase, but if youre looking for high quality youre probably better off spending a little more money.

Greater than one weekI bought this monitor back in 2016. This monitor is still alive till this day, I do love the monitor a lot it was a worth while investment until i finally got a new monitor to play around with. Definitely one of my go to monitors on a budget as it is a beauty. Good: I played different genre games with this, and it is keeping up with the graphically intensive game (Monster Hunter World (Average Graphics Quality). Other games included in the mix: Final Fantasy XIV, League of Legends (high average settings), and Blazblue: Central Fiction. The monitor will last you for a long time if you are taking care of it, as well by not overtaxing the usage of the settings of the monitor (Brightness to Max) Buttons are great for my standards. They are easy to press and also it gives me an easy setup in the monitor brightness when the suns glare is messing with the monitor. The monitors base is a good base that you dont see in other monitors which allows you to put stuff under the monitor, like wireless charger, and glasses case to name a few. Bad: For a monitor, it is no pure gaming monitor, with the 7ms Response Time. Games that requires the player to react instantly may show an upsetting result, as they input it on time as they see the move, but due to a small delay it results on a Win or Lose situation. AC adapter to monitor, it is loose when you try to move the cable, but it is not to a point where it can come off with a slight pull of the wire. It is more when you are trying to move the monitor place to place that it somehow AC adapter connected to the monitor is a comes off but not completely, still hanging from the monitor. I do manage to remind myself that it will do that, so in the end I just check if the plug is really plugged in every time I move my monitor around my desk.
