> 3 dayIf youre looking for great adherence and seal performance then this stuff fabulous, but the backing material that gets peeled off is so slippery and slick that it makes application really difficult for one person to do especially if youre standing on a ladder and very limited in reach to keep it in a straight line so it doesnt fold up onto itself as youre laying it down. Recommend two people - one to pull on the backing and the other the lay it flat and straight.

> 3 dayI had old, but dry joists that were is excellent shape. So I plugged the old nail holes and any splits in the wood, and then laid down this joist tape. It worked great. The adhesive is so thick and sticky that I believe it will keep moisture out as well as sealing the new nails/screws penetrating the joists. The project needed 5 rolls of tape, so the cost for the tape was reasonable to protect the joists for another long period of time.

> 3 dayA much thinner product versus several others that are on the market for Use, One and done send it back In price comparison this is not a good buy.

> 3 dayThis was very easy to use. It came very quickly. I used it under my Trex decking, on top of the wood frame joists

> 3 dayWe are repairing a deck because of the problem that tapes like this are intended to prevent. Several of the deck boards and joists had rotted and needed to be replaced. This tape looks to be an ingenious solution to the problem of dirt and moisture collecting in the gaps between the deck boards above the joists. The tape went down easily. Cutting the lengths of tape before going up the ladder to apply them was a good idea. Its best not to fight the roll while applying the tape--especially when one is on a ladder twelve feet above the ground. The tape is only 1/8 wider than the standard 1 1/2 wide joist. Thats only 1/16 on either side of the joist, so one must be careful when centering the tape on the joist. Overall, applying the tape went quickly for us. Ill add that the top of the tape is slippery, so the deck boards easily slide before they are attached. This is nice for positioning them, but also could be a danger if one is not careful while walking over the boards before theyre attached. This tape is well worth the investment. Dont build a deck without it.

> 3 dayWell, this joist tape is sticky. It is black and it is thick. Easy to peal and apply. It is super sticky so it stays where it is put, and is hard to remove once it is set. I used this to cover the top edge of the 30 year old beams and joists when I replaced the decking boards on my deck. Will it work? Will it prevent rot? It seems like a good idea. I will never know. By the time that the deck boards are removed years from now I likely will not be here to find out. Others have noted that they found it hard to cut. I have some advise. Do not use a knife. Scissors work best. It took some practice but I found that I had to cut steady and slowly so as not to cause the tape to separate from the plastic backing. If you get any of the sticky goo on your scissors, you are done and need to clean the scissors before cutting again. I used a clean rag and some carb cleaner to refresh my scissors when they got gummed up.

> 3 dayKnowing there was the concept of there being joist tape most influences my rating. For the minimal cost, an almost guaranteed way to prevent the most common way your deck joists are going to rot seems like it should be a requirement of any deck build. The people that built my deck did not use it and that seems criminal unless this concept did not exist 10 years ago. As far as this particular product, it did exactly what I wanted, seemed to be good quality, adhered well. It is like slightly wider electrical tape with some roughness on the side where the deck boards would sit. I would use this product again next time I need it.

> 3 dayTape for the deck joists to help protect from rotting. Very easy to use. I used it on the deck base of a composite deck that I built. Great product, will save the deck framing for many years.
