I just installed tile in my house and I am constantly sweeping dust and hair. I would like to say that it is dog hair, but I shed more than a Golden. The vacuum serves its purpose. Things that I like: saves me time and the app is good. Things I dont like: Brush stopped working on day 2 because like I said, I shed like a Golden. Husband had to take brush part apart and pull all the hair. It was caught on the wheels, brush, you name it. It has gotten stuck a few times under tables, and sofa. I wont run it when I am not home. I have to block several rooms in the house because once it gets in there, it goes around and around and around. Recommendation: I think I would do more research on different brands and models. Women have long hair and it can be just about everywhere, so not sure if there is a model that can help with this problem.

Constantly gets stuck, clogged, or runs out of battery before it can crash its way back to the charger. It just randomly drives throughout the house like its blackout drunk. Areas of a room cannot be programmed to be avoided, so furniture that is just the right height to squeeze under, but too heavy to squeeze out from under, or outlets with power cords that cannot be kept out of its way, or doors that are easy to shut all become problems as this thing smashes into them all and never finishes a job successfully. UPDATE with MORE issues that I didnt mention on the initial review: This thing appears to seek out problems to be created for you. Its very noisy, and when I happen to be around when it runs its schedule, I usually determine its too noisy to let it continue and try to send it back to its charger. But if its more than 5-feet from the charger or not pointed directly at it, it has no clue how to get back there. It wanders around aimlessly as if I never tried to send it back. When it gets to its charger, it has often moved it around the floor enough, pulling it away from the wall such that it will never be able to dock itself on the charger. If it runs completely out of battery, good luck getting it to charge again! It needs to be lined up ever so perfectly that it is extremely difficult to do so by hand. It practically needs to line itself up. If its off by a millimeter it wont charge at all. Rugs are completely off limits for this worthless machine. Some I have are light enough that it tries to vacuum them up and gets them jammed into its gears. Others have patterns on them that are incompatible with its programming, somehow making it conclude that it is surrounded by cliffs, and it gets stuck on them every time never cleaning them at all. If you have certain rooms or areas of a room that you want to keep it out of because it has problems there, it is a massive headache trying to find any workable solution. Any obstacles that I try to put up it views as a challenge to be overcome, constantly smashing into them and attacking at different angles until it finds a weak spot to be exploited. Usually it gets past my best effort, but if it doesnt there is still an annoying obstacle in a passage way that I need to step around that the Roomba cannot. Finally, I would be remiss to not mention to never consider buying one of these if you intend to have a new dog in the house! On multiple occasions it has found a mess left by my dog in training before I could. It doesnt see something thats sitting an inch higher than its brushes as something to be avoided, it sees it as an enemy to be pushed around. When it comes across a fresh pile of poo, it goes over it as many times as its mechanics will allow. Smashing it down and spreading it all across the floor. Getting it mixed up into its wheels, brushes, and gears and leaving me with hours worth of cleaning of the mess it spread across the floor and within itself. If you have money to waste, get a few of these things for friends who you dont want anymore. The cruel joke will be realized soon enough and they will all stop talking to you altogether.

I got this for a gift for a family member but once we waited 3 hours for it to fully charge, we were faced with an error message, we contacted the roomba IT support team and they couldn’t figure it out and i also contacted amazon IT support team and amazon ended up sending me a replacement. which works great! i just wished it worked well the first time

Overall I like it. I’m a first time robot vacuum user. I bought one to daily vacuum my down stairs (which is a mix of tile and carpet) now that we have a dog. Does it do what I need? Yes and I’m satisfied with my purchase. However, the next time I buy one I’ll definitely buy one with more features. It runs out of battery before it makes it home sometimes. When low on battery, it seems to roam around trying to catch the signal for the charger. Sometimes it goes right by it. So I’m not sure what it’s process is on how it goes home. When it does get stuck or run out of battery, it sends you a notification, which is helpful. Also I have the charger on tile and it often moves it around so I need to somehow fasten it to the ground. (Probably with some command strips). Once or twice it’s made it home but isn’t on the charger properly so it won’t have battery to run the next day. I also wish it room mapped so I could have it just do the kitchen area. In the end, these things are not that big of a deal to me because I’m happy to wake up to a vacuumed floor I didn’t have to do myself.

Without Lider mapping robot vacuums are useless as they roam around in same area multiple times.. good for starter kit and is useful if you can use this in a closed room. Good at detecting staircase!!

Its programmable so you can set and forget; however, it gets caught on any cable and loose rug. When it doesnt get stuck, it sweeps well and Im glad every time because I hate feeling things when I walk barefoot. We run it once daily in the morning as we wake up because its noisy and crashes on everything before turning, so better to run it when were already awake or out of the house. Its smart enough to avoid falling down the stairs. I bought it like-new on discount. I wouldnt pay full price tho.

I live in a small two bedroom house and run this little guy daily. It does a 5 star vacuum the first time it’s used after replacing the rotor and/or taking 30 minutes to clean the parts. After one or two vacuums (1400 sq feet), the performance is noticeably worse.

My girlfriend has one of these from a different brand and I saw how good a job it does keeping her floors clean, so I decided to pick one up for myself. Roomba was really easy to set up and get cleaning—it paired with my phone without any trouble (unlike some smarthome devices Ive used) and connected to Alexa easily too. When I first ran it it had some trouble because it sucked up some Christmas ornament hangers, but it was very easy to remove the roller and clear the jam; since then its worked great. I think mine does a better job with obstacles than my girlfriends does, since it only seems to get stuck on the stands for my guitars and the heating vents in the floor. This one doesnt have any fancy floor-mapping, so I cant really complain about its routing, but it seems to cover the whole apartment without any trouble on one charge (about 90 minutes). At first it had difficulty getting back home but for whatever reason its gotten better at that lately—maybe there is some kind of mapping or homing function? In any case its doing a great job keeping my floors clear of dust and dirt, even in high-traffic areas like the kitchen. I bought mine at a substantial discount—these things go on sale all the time, I presume to clear out overstock since they release new ones at a good clip—and it was definitely worth the $180 I paid for it.

I was replacing a much older one with a battery that finally gave out. I’m very excited about this new Roomba, I love it being connected to Wi-Fi. You just start it from the app wherever you might be instead of having to remember to reach down and hit the button to physically turn it on before you leave the house. This one has a lower profile, is much lighter and doesn’t slam into everything like my old one did. It did a great job cleaning my wood and tile floors as well as the low pile rugs. So far it hasn’t gotten caught on a few obstacles my old one would routinely get stuck on. Definitely an upgrade. I did have a bit of a headache getting it connected to the wifi using the app. After trying several attempts where it just kept searching for the Roomba but never found it I eventually did a factory reset holding the spot and home buttons which corrected the issue and then it connected without a problem. Be sure you are connecting to the 2.4 GHz band instead of the five with your phone doing the “easy” set up since you probably automatically connect to five on your phone. If you have a pet, a robot vacuum is a must, it makes it so easy to keep clean. The dustbin isn’t huge but that’s just the nature of the beast, be sure to dump it since you can’t do that remotely. Love my Roomba.

The positives: I use it every day. Just turn it on and let it go. One day is downstairs, the next day is upstairs. It senses drop offs so it doesn’t fall down any stairs. It runs for about 90 minutes, gets underneath furniture, zig zags everywhere, is meticulous around corners and grooves it can get into. When it runs downstairs where the base is it docks itself when the battery is dying. After running it several days in a row I have noticed a decrease in the amount of dirt, dust, dog hair and human hair it catches. The negatives: it’s dirt receptacle is very small. Doesn’t hold much and has to be emptied every time. It can’t get into inside corners very well, only outside. There is a fan of some sort that blows as it moves around and it does tend to blow debris around or the little brushes end up throwing the debris off to the side. While it can make it over ledges in the floor, like rugs or wood separating rooms, there are certain rugs it struggles with like bathroom rugs or any rug that has strings hanging around on it as it wants to suck them up. I have not used the remote. Call it laziness on my part. I carry it upstairs on those days and I jus5 lean down and hit the go button when it’s downstairs. Knowing how some of these models are so extremely expensive I am very happy with the performance of this inexpensive model. So what if I have to still vacuum periodically in the corners and the stairs. This is well worth the money!
