It does a decent job but doesn’t pick everything little thing up. Goes on and off my living room carpet with ease. Does not cover 100% or my floor but it doesn’t leave a mess either.

I like that my floors are consistently cleaner than before I purchased the robot. Due to my physical condition, I had difficulty cleaning under my couch. My Roomba does a fantastic job of cleaning there. I still need to clean the corners, behind the furniture, and under some low-level tables, but in general, I am most satisfied. Be sure to remove shoestrings, light cords, etc. out of her way because she like to tangle herself in them.

I picked up the 692 because it was suppose to be great with dog hair. I didnt even have a huge job for it: one 400sf room with medium pile carpet where our two Anatolian Shepherds hang out during the day. Right out of the gate, it became clear that this vacuum simply cant handle pet hair on carpet. It didnt pick up all of it, and part of what it did pick up was left in two neat parallel rows behind it. (And as anyone whos had a Roomba problem will tell you, Roombas support is the absolute worst.) Theres just no point in using it for pet hair on carpet, because youll end up vacuuming the next morning anyway. Unable to return it without paying a ridiculous restocking fee (my fault for buying something that wasnt Prime-eligible), I moved it to the hardwood floors in our dining room. It does a decent job there, although I still have to regularly untangle pet hair from the undercarriage. Oh, and about once every four days, its high-tech cliff sensor fails and it gets stuck on the edge of the step down from our dining room. Pros: - Reasonably quiet - Bump-and-go seems to work fairly well (although has become stuck under a chair a couple of times) - Useful app - Decent cleaning on hardwood - Edge brush works well for floor edges on hardwood Cons: - Useless for pet hair on carpet - Cliff sensor doesnt always work - Requires regular manual cleaning of pet hair from undercarriage - Having to manually take the filter out and knock dirt off it when emptying is annoying

Its programmable so you can set and forget; however, it gets caught on any cable and loose rug. When it doesnt get stuck, it sweeps well and Im glad every time because I hate feeling things when I walk barefoot. We run it once daily in the morning as we wake up because its noisy and crashes on everything before turning, so better to run it when were already awake or out of the house. Its smart enough to avoid falling down the stairs. I bought it like-new on discount. I wouldnt pay full price tho.

Here are a few tips if youre thinking about getting a Roomba (which you should!) 1. Wait until Prime Day or an equivalent sale. I bought this model for $220 (tax included). If you live in the Seattle area, watch out for the Amazon deals - Amazon vans will park random places for one day only to offload products at a steep discount. The Roomba is a regular for that rotation - Ive seen this model sold for $140. 2. Do not buy cheap knockoff versions for replacement parts on Amazon. Buy only iRobot products (from them directly if possible). There are a lot of versions of fake products from Chinese companies sold on Amazon. These parts are crappy and could impact the performance / lifetime of your Roomba. One example of that is the replacement air filters. The cheaper versions do not seal correctly, so dust gets into the small cracks and other mechanisms within the machine. Replacing your vaccum will cost a lot more than a $10 air filter. 3. Clean your air filter with a toothbrush after each use to reduce the clog of dust. Replace the filter every 3 months. 4. Do a deep cleaning of your Roomba every 6 months. Use a mini flathead and a small phillips to take off the front cover (youll need to take off the small, yellow spinning brush first using the small flathead). Be careful because the threads of the tiny screw are mounted in plastic casing. Very easy to strip. Clean out all the hair around the small screw that attaches the spinning brush (after 6 months, this can cause the brush to stop spinning - 90% of the time, its just hair - side note - this motor is also replacable for only $15 on the iRobot website). Ive noticed a fair amount of negative reviews discussing the shelf life of Roombas. People are making comments like My cats killed our Roomba etc. Id like to set the record straight for this awesome company. Basically, in life, you cant get things for free. You cant expect your car, for instance, to function well over time without regular maintainence. Most people hate car maintanance, so it has become widely accepted for most people to pay someone to fix / clean their car. And, for most people this makes a lot of sense. Wed rather spend our time doing other things besides changing the oil, checking the tires, checking the radiator, maintaining the engine and so on. For vaccums, the mechanics are much less complex than a car. However, they still incur a ton of wear and tear like dirt, cat hair, female hair, dust, and eveything else that lands on the floor. Over time, even the best vaccum will break or need repairs if it is not well maintained. In the old days, we had vaccum repair shops because people hated working on their vaccums. Then, everything possible became automated and outsourced. We could have Roomba repair shops that cost $30 to do a tune up of your Roomba. People would probably pay it. But, rest assured, the same people complaining about paying for that would be the same people who complained about the amazing Roomba - the vaccum that does its job with very little work from the human. The only thing is doesnt do well is clean itself. What we need is a cat Roomba. My closing thought is this one. Spend one hour every three months maintaining your Roomba, and you will save yourself 50+ hours a year (a whole work week) of vaccuming. Thats very simple math, but it will require some effort on the part of the human. I purchased mine on Prime Day 8 months ago. I did my first deep clean (along with the regular air filter cleaning with each use) and she is gently purring like the first day I discovered her :-). I do not own securities in iRobot or work for them. This review is completely of my own writing.

Got this to replace a competitor product (shall remain nameless...) which jammed up with hair and dirt and had to be cleaned or unstuck many times in a cleaning session. This Roomba is basic, but works very nicely. Seldom needs cleaning (e.g. rollers, main brush, etc.). Hardly gets stuck. My only gripe with it is the unreliability of the cliff sensors. I have a white tile floor with a step down to hardwood. Most of the time the cliff sensors work and it turns on the step and retreats. But occasionally it just drives over the edge and gets stuck (does not fall down to lower level). Very puzzled why. I tried cleaning the sensors - but not sure if its that. I think because its white, sometimes it just misses the edge. Annoying. update. Cliff sensors still erratic. Work 99% of the time, then they dont.... now the charging is intermittent too. Sometime it will charge, and sometimes it wont. Sometimes is charges, then loses its connection, so over a day or so, it loses all its power. Almost every time I try to use it, the battery is out. :-(. The work around I found was to place a weight on the Roomba when its charging. Not really a solution, but at least its charged when I need it. (yes, I did try cleaning the contacts....) see picture slowly taking the stars off, one at a time :-(

Setup with the app was a breeze and I was able to integrate it with HomeKit (Siri). You just have to do a little prep and make sure you don’t leave things out that it’ll get caught or hung up on. Our LVP floors clean up really nice with this guy, and it’s awesome that you can set routines.

We have had a Rooma for the past several years. Finally beat it to death. Used it constantly. We purchased this newer model replaced that one. Very pleased with it. The first think my wife noticed was how much quieter it was. It seems to move more smoothly through the space. We use it on a combination of floors: wood, carpet, and tile. And it seems to me that it recharges more quickly than out previous model. It also had wi-fi capabilities, but we havent really had a reason to use that yet. Highly recommend this product.

This is a great little vacuum. It cleans really well, and the battery goes for a couple of hours. It always docks itself easily when done and never misses a spot in my 1100 sq foot condo. It will go over rugs easily and fits under everything with no problem. I have two 20+ Maine Coons, and it does a great job of cleaning up their hair and any litter tracking. The drawer needs to be emptied every couple of days but, its not a big deal for me. I have hardwood look tile floors and carpet in the bedrooms. It cleans both well. It even cleans the litter mat in from of the litter box. This was well worth the money. I bought it during black Friday sales. This only negative is its a little loud.

But I don’t recommend for pet owners. Get a different roller brush if you have lots of hair.
