Super sharp, took it out the box and it shaved some hair off my arm. This knife is made too last.

I just received my Ka-Bar yesterday. I was so impatient to get it that I picked it up at the post office soon as it got there instead of waiting the extra couple of days that it was supposed to take to be delivered to my house. I opened the box as soon as I got back out to my car and all I can say is WOW! This thing is awesome and built to last. The factory edge is literally razor sharp and Ive got a bald spot on my left forearm to prove it. I got it home and tried it out on a few things to see how well it cut. One thing I tried was an empty Mountain Dew can. Im here to tell you that Ginsu aint got s*** on Ka-Bar. The serrations on the blade cut through the can with not much more than just the weight of the knife. I loved how the Kraton grip felt in my hand. The sheath is the Kydex one and its as well made as the knife. When you slide the blade in the sheath it locks in place. I shook the sheath with the blade locked in it hard several times and it stayed locked just like it should. Ive always known about Ka-Bar knives but had never owned one till this purchase. I would gladly purchase another Ka-Bar in the future. As far as Im concerned this is a very high quality American made item thats built to last. Its also a welcome addition to my pack and camping gear where it will be used along with my Estwing Black Eagle which is also a very high quality American made item and Im proud to own them both. Sorry to be so long winded with my review but as nice as this knife is it deserves more than something short and sweet.

Seriously. Do yourself a favor and buy this already. This knife is a work of art. One of the most patriotic artifacts I own. It took me a bit of time to figure out if I wanted the serrated or straight edge version. I needed this knife for camping so I felt like the serrated one will help cut rope faster. I definitely plan on purchasing the straight edge as well. Why not have another as a backup blade, right? The handle is excellent and has such a great feel to it. The blade is sharp as can be out of the box. It slices off the hair on my arm with ease. I do feel like you can still take it a step further and sharpen it a bit more to get that sharpness you desire though. I am also very impressed with the sheath. I am loving how it locks the knife into place when you insert it. Very snug, no rattling around in there. You will not be disappointed, buy it!
