KA1214-BRK USA Fighting Knife, Steel

Holding up so far. I was a bit surprised at how light it is. Hope it serves me for many years

k bars are awsome,razor sharp and light.I took it camping and handled everything i threw at it.Nice sheath,although i prefer leather.You wont be dissapointed.My only complaint is i wish the handle had a lanyard hole.

My little brother is a USMA plebe this year, and I was entirely unsure of what I could get him for Christmas that he could actually bring back and enjoy. I know the KA-BAR is a classic standard issue USMC knife, and the price was good so I pulled the trigger. When I actually saw him open it on Christmas I realized how freaking sweet this knife looked. Its one badass piece of metal, and I plan to buy one for myself. Sharp.. yes sharp.

Just like others have said; what a heck of a great knife, and came razor sharp. It is as good and sturdy as i remember from 1967 / 1968 era, except of course we didnt have any with serrated edges then that I recall. The grip is great and if need be you can wrap paracord around the groves in it to lash the knife to make it a spear if need be. The knife is just the right size for most tasks. The sheath is great, especially the lock-in feature. You can carry the sheath in any of 360 degree locations on yourself or about any pack. The knifes 1095 steel is easier to sharpen, just maek sure you always finish up with a light coat of oil. If no oil with you, simply clean well and wipe dry and keep it dry. This knife can last you a lifetime.

Handle bent 30 minutes into my field test. I was not exceeding the limits for this knife. Must have been a dud. Ive been collecting knives for 20+ years and have never seen a ka bar bend the way this one did. Almost seemed like it was a fake? Not sure how to tell. My mora companion was able to finish the job when my ka bar failed. Doesnt seem right to me that a tiny mora would beat out a ka bar, especially with chopping tasks. I am still giving this 5 stars due to the fact the problem is being resolved and the knowledge that these things happen. Ka bar knives are amazing. One dud wont change my opinion of their knives. I am returning and buying it again. I will review again once I receive it

Dont be an idiot like me and feel the serrated edges of the knife to see how sharp it is, one soft feel and it slit my thumb open. 10/10 quality

I really like the handle on this knife, it is very solid and material feels and grips very nicely. The sheath is also constructed very well. Not as sharp as I would have liked it to be, but that is easy to fix.

One of the many things I liked of the k-bar was the handle of it has good grip and the hard sheath it was a great purchase for me.

I gave this to my son as a gift and Ive heard no complaints. This was something he requested and I was glad I could get it for him.
