I am on my second pair of microspikes and cant say enough great things. Regardless of whether your going through slush, ice, snow or something in-between these spikes will keep your traction solid and steady. I have been able to navigate over terrain that most other microspikes or pseudo-crampons simply fail to gain traction on. My first pair lasted 5 years and at least 100 miles of hiking frozen water falls and other ice formations. Unless Im actually ice climbing I wont bother with real crampons anymore. These spikes provide all the necessary traction for hiking without sinking too far into the snow and ice. Additionally, unlike true crampons there is no learning curve with these; simply strap on and go. Lastly, they pack up easily and take up extremely minimal space.

Used once with running shoes for glacier travel on the 3 passes circuit. They were easy to put on and provided great traction on 10% packed trail on the glacier for the length of 2 football fields.

These worked well on 3 trips into the high peaks of the ADK this year. My friend wore these microspikes and he was able to get where I went with my sturdier and longer Hillsound Trail Pro Crampons. in the lover elevations with less ice he glided along while I had to choose between slippery boots or my spikes on slush covered rocks. He struggled at the peak while I had no issues up or down the ice. I think I will get a set for lower elevations and switch if needed. We both agreed they are a good buy.

Definitely go for a smaller size. The right size according to the chart feels loose and comes off on slopes.

I had never hiked in the winter before and saw someone using spikes so I asked a friend who hikes in winter what she recommended. Kahtoola microspikes was the only thing shell use. I am amazed at this product. Ice, snow, wet leaves, anything. No slip, no slide, great hikes! Ive had 5 knee surgeries on one of my knees and had been worried about slipping but not anymore! I managed to lose the nylon tote that came with them and I contacted the seller and they are sending me a new one free of charge! Great service, amazing product. I am looking forward to years of fabulous hikes with my dog all over, in all weather. Thank you!

Bought these for my son in Japan. He lives where there is a lot of snow and ice. He loves these spikes. Many of his friends have fallen and gotten hurt this winter and he is just walking on the ice and snow likes it not even there. Great product, very easy to use, take on and off with ease.

Work great. I hike through the woods every day, and dont slip at all going up and down snow and icy hills, as well as on ice covered ponds. They go on easy and stay on. Spikes are rugged and so far have stayed sharp even though Ive walked across rocky areas.

Used this during late June climb up Mt Whitney. Very versatile and provided enough grip for stability at some icy cliffs.

2 hikes with these - one in February 2017 and the 2nd in December 2017 - after the 2nd hike the rubber was half torn through on one of them and with a small pull broke the rest of the way. I guess I’m lucky they did not break when hiking as they did work well on black ice above the tree line and it would have been treacherous without them. However I will be looking for a new brand. Not sure how they could have so many good reviews while being so fragile - bad luck on my part maybe.
