Kahtoola MICROspikes Footwear Traction for Winter Trail Hiking & Ice Mountaineering

> 3 dayI have 3 pair of these, one for my big Sorels, one for my Danner hiking boots and one for my girlfriend. Ive run into many people on the trails who ask me what kind they are. Others try the cheaper brands and tell me they break and dont work well. These Kahtoola MicroSpikes are the bomb, actually bombproof. I use them on hard-packed snow, ice and mud, in areas I would not be able to hike without falling. They havent rusted or bent on me at all thru the past several winter months.

> 3 dayThis product works great. In Minnesota we had freezing rain not long after I received these followed by 15 inches of snow and these worked incredibly well

> 3 dayEasy to slide on and off and they fit several different boots I have with ease. I feel safe hiking on snow and ice with these puppies on!

> 3 dayThese spikes work extremely well on ice and snow. Much better than cheaper coil type crampons. They are well built and should last quite awhile.

> 3 dayI bought these for a trip to Mount Marcy in the Adirondack Mountains in mid-November, where we were expecting lots of ice on the mountain. We were not disappointed. About a 1/3 of the way through the ascent, we were starting to slip on the ice that was covering the majority of the trail, so we busted these bad boys out. From there on out, it was smooth sailing... traction was no longer even a thought in the back of our minds. These things really are remarkable, and I cant find a thing to complain about with them. If it ever snows here in Ohio again (like it always used to, in the winter), Im sure Ill get more use out of them on those dark cold mornings when I need to shovel the driveway, and Ill certainly be packing them for any future winter hikes! One note about sizing. If you look at their size chart, for hiking boots, Medium size is marked for mens 7-10.5 and Large size for mens 10.5-14 when sizing for hiking boots. I happen to wear a size 10.5. I ordered the Medium size first, hoping to fit them over my hiking boots (Treksta Assault Goretex), and when I received them, found them to only just barely reach around the back of my outsole. I thought this might be the case, and had allowed for enough time to order the Large to replace them (and I gave my Medium set to my friend (size 9 men) who would be joining me on the aforementioned trek). The Large fit much better around my hiking boot, which I would describe as a heavy trekking (but not insulated) boot. Just an fyi for anyone who may fall right between the sizing cracks. Hope this helps!

> 3 dayI am so happy with these! Because it’s hard for my fingers to get them on, I designated a certain pair of hiking books to leave them on and that worked great! You do want them to fit snug on your boot or shoe. It was so nice to walk in winter without fear of slipping on ice!

> 3 dayWOW! I think these might be my favorite outdoor gear purchase ever! I have had these about 6 months and despite being rough on them, they still look/work great! I took these hiking on ice, snow, mud, rocks/gravel, etc and never once fell or slipped. I can even run on ice in these!! So fun! High recommend for winter activities- they are built to last and will save you from injury time and time again. I recommend these to everyone on the trail that I see sliding around in plain tennis shoes.

> 3 dayAfter trying another brand with plastic nubs twice because the fit wasnt right, I turned to this one. I hesitated because the price is $50 more than the other, but my safety on the ice is worth it. I tried them for the first time yesterday walking the dog, and theyre awesome! I immediately felt the difference, and I felt more confident walking. They stayed secured even after jogging a short distance, and I didnt slip or felt unsteady once. Worth every penny.

> 3 dayI fell one day walking with regular shoes after a blizzard we had in Colorado.. My neighbors had a good laugh, so after picking up what was left of my pride, I went online in search of some Ice walking aides. I found these bad boys and never heard laughter again.
