I was skeptical about this one but, as soon as the UPS man delivered it my 2 ½ year old boy wanted to go on it. I let him go 1 time inside but, told him after that it was an outside only potty. We have used it at least 6 times in 2 days and Im mostly very pleased with it. Setup is very easy (just make sure you hear the click when locking the legs in place) but, the built in deflector is somewhat small. Until he learns to hold it down we are going to have to take off his pants and training pants so his legs sit wide enough that it points down automatically (you Mothers of boys know what Im talking about). Also unlocking/folding the legs was a little hard the first couple of times but, it seams to get easier every time. I looked at a couple different portable potty chairs before deciding on this one. The other 2 options were both bulky and 1 didnt have a deflector and the other sealed so you had to carry the waste home and clean it out. Overall, I am very pleased with this seat.

My daughter has been just learning how to go in the potty and this was so great to take to the playground and to a restaurant. We use the bag that it comes in to take it and have our Clorox wipes to clean it so that is nice. And of course it goes into a backpack or large purse and with it being lightweight it makes it easy to transport!

Small enough to fit in diaper bag so we took everywhere with us - was a life saver in airport and when traveling!! Highly recommend!!

Hands-down one of the best products Ive purchased in the past 3 years of parenthood! This thing is SO versatile and has saved our behinds more than a few times. Purchased it before our summer travels (10 months ago) and it has gone with us on every outing since. My 3-year-old hates sitting on big potties (hes scared to fall in) so this has come in quite handy on-the-go. Hes a boy (obviously) so going to the bathroom is a bit easier for us if its just #1, but I have a friend with little girls who swears by this thing because it can serve as a sit-down potty ANYWHERE as long as you have a plastic bag on you. (Side note: dont bother with the fancy bags they sell for this thing separately. Just use a plastic bag and throw a few paper towels, napkins, or baby wipes in the bottom to absorb the pee.) Just fabulous... and I love that its so easy to clean/sanitize too!

This has been a game changer! No more trying to hunt down a bathroom before my daughter has an accident! We find somewhere to pull over, usually a back corner of a parking lot, empty church parking lot, or just somewhere there’s no one around. One tip - instead of buying replacement bags and liners just use grocery bags and ball up some toilet paper in the bottom of the bag to soak up the pee. Tie the bag up and throw it out at your next stop! Works the same, grocery bags fit the sit perfectly, and doesn’t cost anything! (Just make sure it’s not a bag with a hole!) I also keep a tub of Clorox wipes to clean it and hand sanitizer in the back. The seat folds up and slides perfectly under the back seat!

This is the best $10 I have ever spent! One week after my son turned 2, he decided that he was going to use the toilet and no more diapers. While I applauded his desire and determination, I had a feeling the ability might take a bit of time to perfect. So, after seeing the special potties for using on the go in one of his potty books, I took to Amazon to find out what these on the go potties are. For $10, I decided to try the potette plus--and have now purchased 3 potette plus-es! These things are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! They are little folding potties that can be set up as a small potty OR (bonus!) placed upon a full sized adult toilet seat to make it child sized. The legs easily snap into place to set the potette up as a potty and easily extend out to use as a childs seat on the adult toilet. It is the PERFECT size for the mommy, I have to potty, as soon as you make your turn onto a busy street--you can easily pull off into the closest parking lot or parking space, set up the potty on the car seat, floor, hatchback, folded down seat, what have you, so that junior can make his pee pee, after telling you for the 5000th time before you left the house 1 minute earlier that he did not have to go. Pros: Fits perfectly in the diaper bag where we used to keep the changing pad Easy to set up and use; for a portable potty, stick in one of the included liners (replacements are available for a reasonable price too--they look like plastic grocery bags with an absorbent pad at the bottom), and prop up the potty for junior to use (we keep it set up in the car--we fold down the front passenger seat and let junior sit on his throne on the folded seat. Its saved us many a time from an unforeseen car seat incident as grandpa would call it. Also perfect for bathroom-less parks, the beach, or anyplace else that your little one has to go while on the go. Once junior does his business in the disposable liner, you remove the bag, tie up the handles, toss it in the trash and go about your day. Easy to use on the adult potty. My little guy was public restroom (or any restroom that was not at home) a-phobic. He REFUSED to use toilets that were not his own, which made leaving the house while potty training extra fun. After we got the potette, every toilet seat looks alike! (because the potette is nicely propped on top and that is all the little one sees). The legs/handles keep junior from grabbing those germ infested toilet seats in public restrooms to hold on--he can just hang on to the legs/handles of the potette plus and keep his precious hands free from public toilet yucks. Cons: We didnt realize that the legs snapped up into the potette to stabilize it when used as a potty. We learned that after a couple of wobbly attempts. Make sure that you snap the legs in place when using as a free standing potty. Overall, it has made potty training a breeze. We never had to spend those long dreaded weekends at home because junior was learning to use the toilet. We just bring the potette plus with us and hes good to go on the go. We keep 1 in each car and 1 in the diaper bag. It seems like nothing brings on the urge to potty like getting strapped into the car seat and pulling out of the neighborhood.

Loved this! At first I was very skeptical because I thought there was no way my daughter could sit on it in the potty chair mode without having to hover or her touching the bag, but she was easily able to it on it like a regular potty chair with no hovering and no touching the bottom of the bag. It’s a great travel seat! We bought this to keep in our van specifically for the times she has to go and there’s no where to go. We’ve had it for one week and it has came in handy three times! At the park with no actual bathroom? Use the Potette! At a out door event and don’t want your child to use a nasty port-a-potty? Use the potette! It’s small enough to fit between our front seat and captains chair in our Toyota Sienna, so it is very discreet. Seriously wish we had purchased sooner!

This thing has come in handy so many times! My toddler likes bathrooms. I dont know why, but where ever we go, the first thing she wants to see is the bathroom, and she wants to go back to see it at least 3 more times thereafter. Its annoying, but when a 2 year old tells you potty, you dont really have much of a choice unless you want to risk an accident. This thing, when I remember to bring it, saves me from having to hold my toddler up as she hovers over the toilet seat, as I repeat dont touch ANYTHING 10 million times as she holds onto my arm only to say finished! 10 minutes later after doing nothing. Instead I bring this, slap down some toilet liners under it and feel better about spending more time in the bathroom than the actual restaurant. But, I digress. This thing is great. It was a life saver when we went camping. No scurrying to the bath house to get her to a nasty toilet every 10 minutes for 3 days.

I purchased the Potette Plus before my son was actually potty trained to help in the training process and just to be ready. My son does prefer the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair at home as it is larger and more comfortable to sit on but the Potette Plus has worked out great for us when we are out and about because it is very compact and portable. We have only used it once on an actual toilet seat and that worked out okay (it was a little small for the size of the toilet seat making it a bit difficult) however we LOVE it when the legs are down and locked into place. My son has used it in the back of our car several times, on the floor of public restroom stalls, at relatives homes, etc. It has worked out great and helps my son feel secure in that he can touch the floor with his feet while using it. This is a great travel potty and highly recommend it for that use. Update on October 25, 2011 . . . Still LOVE this seat. In my first review I stated we only used it once on a toilet seat and thought it was a little small. Now that we have been using it for over 10 months we have used it many many times on public toilets and it works great. Anytime that my son uses a public toilet he uses this seat and it has been fabulous. We do still also use it with the legs in the down position as a stand alone seat for the times when he just has to go and we arent near a toilet and that still works great too. LOVE this seat. So affordable yet priceless for parents of toddlers.

This potty/potty seat seemed like a terrific idea for travel and walks, but the folding legs dont snap into place firmly. One of my daughters was particularly excited to use it ... until the legs folded when she was on it, and she fell on her face. Now shes afraid of it and would rather wet herself on a walk than use it, which really defeats the purpose. The problem is that the legs move between their three positions -- fully folded, down for use as a potty, and straight out to the sides for use as a potty seat -- very easily. Yes, they snap in place, but they also snap out of place with just a little pressure. With a design like this, there should be some locking mechanism, or it should at least take a lot more pressure to move the legs from position to position. FYI, the potty comes with a few bags to get you started and also includes a plastic draw-string back you can use to carry it around. July 2016: Coming back years later to revise this review. Yeah, its easy not to lock the legs in place properly and end up with a spilled kid, but once you get the hang of how to lock the legs, these potties are pretty darned handy. To tell you the truth, we still carry one of these around in the car for kiddie emergency pee breaks, three or four years on. Any cheap plastic item we still find useful after four years deserves more than two stars! A very handy item. Just practice locking the legs before you start using it.
