24-11-2024Great idea! So easy to use!! I was sceptical at first thinking it looked too simple but after trying it out its perfect for one offs. A few improvements I would make: - these would be great if they came in two sizes. This one is very small so my son has to really position himself to ensure the wee goes down into the potty - I had to lift the bag in front (which is a tip for others with boys having the same problem). A bigger one with bigger seat and higher legs would be terrific! My son is on the 98th percentile for height and weight so we struggle to find things that will work sometimes - the legs pull right out when clipping them in and out.. No biggy but a stopper of some kind would help so as to not have to try 2-3 times each time Tips for other buyers: The bags they supply are great but also easily DIY - just keep a few biodegrade bags in your car along with a roll of absorbent paper towels. Take a piece of paper towel, place it in the bottom of the biodegrable plastic bag and voila! - this is terrific for use in the back of an SUV. I like to avoid public toilets - something that was harder with a toliet trainer and this makes it possible! - pair this with training pants (I like the under the Nile organic cotton ones), a piddle pad (the bumble baby car seat protector works great), and a great setup at home (I love the potty stool with handles & Xpress trainer toilet seat) and you will have one confident, happy and fully toilet-learned toddler before you know it ;)

Greater than one weekMy two-year-old is just learning to potty train, and this potty has been perfect for us when we travel. So far, Ive only used it as a seat on larger toilets, not as a stand-alone potty. But I have no complaints about the size or the sturdiness - and my daughter is in the 99th percentile for height and weight. I took this along with us on a 300 mile road trip recently, and it was PERFECT. Being so young and so new to potty-training, she cant really give me much notice when she needs to go, or hold it for very long afterward. This allowed me to take her in to public restrooms without having to worry about how dirty the seat might be, or asking her to wait while I wipe off the toilet. I just unfold this, put her on, and she does what she needs to do. When shes done, I can clean the potty with anti-bacterial wipes, or wash it off in the sink. Much faster, easier, and cleaner than trying to hold a squirming toddler on a dirty toilet seat thats too big for her. Plus, she gets a sense of independence because she can balance on the seat by herself, without mommy or daddy having to hold on to her - something she seems to relish. Its the perfect size to fit in our diaper bag, and its no more bulky than her diapers / wipes / changing pad were. The ONLY thing I can think of to improve this product would be if the manufacturers were to add a seat cover that would allow it to be used as a footstool for reaching the sink to wash hands. I dont know if that would be possible and still retain the slim size, but that would make it the absolute perfect potty training product.

> 3 dayMy twins were out of diapers by 21 months old, and my youngest twin is on the petite side so having a portable seat was essential for our family. Twins are almost 3, and we were so pleasantly surprised with it we purchased 2. We recently went on a trip in the middle of potty training, so having 1 each in their own backpack was helpful because when they need to go, you have to act fast. And basically my husband and I would divide and conquer. About the product: we have used several types of bags (diaper bags, kids backpacks) and these are so portable, we have never had an issue of not being able to fit. These are very easy to clean. What I love best is the foldable wings. It’s versatile. Fits over any size toilet and if we are somewhere with no immediate bathroom access, just stand the wings down and use as a portable toilet. For the times where I needed to use it as a portable toilet on the floor, I did not utilize the bags or liners. My twin girls just peed, and these times were in parks or wooded areas. The product only came with a few liners and I want to save them for poop needs. But I have read, you can use any plastic bag to substitute. Since I have not used any bag, I can not comment on the how well the seat works with a bag. Now that my twins are almost 3 and can use a toilet without any riser at home and school, we still continue to this product in public settings because it’s more safe and sanitary. I don’t have to put them on the public toilet (with liners), and no need to worry about my smaller twin falling through the toilet.

> 3 dayI purchased the Potette Plus before my son was actually potty trained to help in the training process and just to be ready. My son does prefer the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair at home as it is larger and more comfortable to sit on but the Potette Plus has worked out great for us when we are out and about because it is very compact and portable. We have only used it once on an actual toilet seat and that worked out okay (it was a little small for the size of the toilet seat making it a bit difficult) however we LOVE it when the legs are down and locked into place. My son has used it in the back of our car several times, on the floor of public restroom stalls, at relatives homes, etc. It has worked out great and helps my son feel secure in that he can touch the floor with his feet while using it. This is a great travel potty and highly recommend it for that use. Update on October 25, 2011 . . . Still LOVE this seat. In my first review I stated we only used it once on a toilet seat and thought it was a little small. Now that we have been using it for over 10 months we have used it many many times on public toilets and it works great. Anytime that my son uses a public toilet he uses this seat and it has been fabulous. We do still also use it with the legs in the down position as a stand alone seat for the times when he just has to go and we arent near a toilet and that still works great too. LOVE this seat. So affordable yet priceless for parents of toddlers.

> 3 dayI was skeptical about this one but, as soon as the UPS man delivered it my 2 ½ year old boy wanted to go on it. I let him go 1 time inside but, told him after that it was an outside only potty. We have used it at least 6 times in 2 days and Im mostly very pleased with it. Setup is very easy (just make sure you hear the click when locking the legs in place) but, the built in deflector is somewhat small. Until he learns to hold it down we are going to have to take off his pants and training pants so his legs sit wide enough that it points down automatically (you Mothers of boys know what Im talking about). Also unlocking/folding the legs was a little hard the first couple of times but, it seams to get easier every time. I looked at a couple different portable potty chairs before deciding on this one. The other 2 options were both bulky and 1 didnt have a deflector and the other sealed so you had to carry the waste home and clean it out. Overall, I am very pleased with this seat.

> 3 dayThis seat can be used with the bags which on their own are wonderful or you can fold out the legs and use it as a seat on top of a regular toilet seat! It folds up small and only takes 5 seconds to pop out and set up. We don’t leave home without it. Easy clean up. Especially when you use the bags. It fits in the car perfectly when on the go and we need a fast potty break. Couldn’t love this product enough! It’s the 5th seat we bought and it actually works perfectly. We didn’t use it to potty train because I had no discovered it until after. Otherwise highly recommend.

Greater than one weekMy family takes an almost month long camping trip every summer and this was the best thing to bring for out 3 year old!! She’s fully potty trained and it was so easy to have her just potty out in the woods since we don’t camp near any bathrooms. It also comes with little bags that attach to it with a little absorbent pad inside so no spills or leaks! Highly recommend this for long car rides and camping trips ! It folds up so it can fit in a backpack and under the seats in the car!

> 3 dayThis is small, but still works for our tall boy who has SPD. It saved us on our travels. It does sit low to the ground, but he was able to sit and do his business without messes. He didnt mind sitting on the bag, but didnt like the way he had to be careful when standing up (so he didnt pull the bag with him). Still, he handled the entire situation well. This is light, so it was not a problem carrying in my backpack it for hours as we went sightseeing. Disposal was easy. Just tossed in the wipes, tied it up and tossed it like used diaper. We used it while in the hotel room too, so we were able to dump contents in the toilet and toss the bag. He would not use it as a toilet topper, but if he didnt have his issues, I am sure it would have worked fine. Yes, I do sometimes pull out the feet when trying to collapse the legs. Not a big deal for me. I am thankful a friendly mom at school recommended this!

Greater than one weekThis potty is one of the best baby gear purchases Ive made. It has saved us many times when there was no toilet around to speak of. My daughter is 2 & we take it along to parks, playgrounds, festivals, etc. It stays in the car w/ extra bags & I just run her back to the car & use it right outside if its fairly private or pop her on the front seat floorboard. It works great. Occasionally Ive put it in my bag & brought it with me when were out at larger parks, beaches or festivals when we cant run back to the car quickly. It folds up surprisingly small & doesnt take up much room in my bag at all (I no longer use a diaper bag so I carry a fairly compact bag). We also bring it with us traveling as a potty topper so that she can use the potty comfortably wherever we go. Ive not found it too small or too big. Its not a real potty, its a portable one, so I dont have expectations of it to be perfect...just convenient & sturdy. I really cant imagine not having this now that my daughter is potty trained. My one small complaint is that when I use it as a potty & need to close it up to put it away, the legs will pop all the way off b/c of how the notches are. Its kind of annoying. I have to try to get it back in the right notch & it has pinched my finger once or twice. Ive gotten the hang of it now though so Im more careful about it. Thats really about it though. Its a great product! Ive surely helped sell lots of these b/c Ive convinced loads of my friends to buy it too! One other thing, I took the advice of other reviewers & just tape some paper towel to the bottom of grocery bags instead of buying their bags. It has worked perfect.

Greater than one weekI really hate that I didn’t buy this months ago. This is perfect for a quick walk or nice nature hikes and my daughter, who absolutely hates the potty training experience for some reason has no issues using this. This fits really nicely in your typical backpack or stroller. You can use plastic take-out bags just fine but the Kalencom liners are thin, yet secure so I bought a giant box of those liners, no regrets. Plus, you can secure 3 liners on the potty beforehand to save some time when your little one has to go. Okay so maybe my one issue is having to adjust the potty from flat, to usable, to flat again, which can require some jiggling but it’s not that bad.
