> 3 dayupdated. i tried partial coverage. one box 50 sq. ft. and put it on all the biggest metal panels. it was somewhat effective but i was not 100% happy with it. for best results go full coverage. at least 90%. i keep buying more and tearing my car apart again lol! just buy 150 sq. ft. and go nuts and cover everything! not just metal, on the back of all the plastic interior panels too. put a couple extra sheets in the middle of big panels to double up. i have a big 4 door camry so a hatchback could do 100 sq. ft. you can definitely have too little. but you cant have too much! the more you put on the better it works! i will likely buy another box to do the hood and front fenders in the future. i also found that it works great inside plastic speaker enclosures around the house.

20-11-2024Replacement for 1968 Tornado under carpet. Good adhesive and coverage. Can’t address sound blocking as car is yet to be on the road due to rebuild.

> 3 dayI prefer this to thicker offerings because it allows for flexibility. I can double up layers in more resonant spots and do single layers in spots that don’t need much help, or where I just want heat isolation. This product is not a noise isolation product, it is a damping material for panel resonance. It will do a little but if you are looking to substantially lower road noise level, this is not the product to use. With that said, it is the best damping material per sqft and price on the market.

> 3 dayUsed one kit to completely cover the floor of a Sierra extended cab truck. Covered floor and up back of cab. Still had about 4-6 sheets left over. Throughly cleaned the metal and this stuff stuck right on. Doing it in the sunlight let’s you contour the sheets to fit exactly how you need. Overall pretty good noise reduction. My truck is a duramax with 5in straight pipe and axle dump and the drone is significantly less than before.

Greater than one weekWas super easy to install, once you get one done you get a rhythm going and you’re off to the races. Installed on my Jeep Wrangler to go under my Goose Gear platform so that it further insulated and allows for better noise quality

> 3 dayGirlfriend and are I doing a mild camper build in our 06 E350. Were not going to really be living in it and most trips will just be 1-3 day ventures or for concerts. I also have everything easily removable so I can still use it to haul stuff. With all that I couldnt really be bothered for the 80mil for the large price difference. This does a great job. Its also incredibly easy to work with to cut around corners. We also used it to go over holes in the sheet metal on the sides after we packed them with insulation. The floor in the van has the kilmat down first then furring strips to balance the ribs with the foam board insulation then the plywood base to vinyl. With so much else going on top - the 50mil is the perfect thickness in my opinion for a van floor if thats your purpose with it. If you have the extra money and are super concerned with outside noise then Im sure the 80mil is just as nice to work with.

> 3 dayIve bought this twice now for two separate restore jobs. Its pretty easy to apply to the metal. Its pretty easy to position where you want it and then cut out the areas for the seat bolts and seat belt bolts. If you prewire the stereo wires to the back, this stuff will also cover up those wires pretty well. buying the roller was a waste of money. I stopped using it and just used my hand to press this stuff down since the floor of the truck isnt smooth and the back is that shiny slick foil stuff. I also noticed that when I had small areas of over lap, like when I was setting in an inside corner with two pieces, if you press a little harder you can hardly tell its double thick-just in case youre wondering if it could make the carpet bulge a bit, it doesnt.

> 3 dayPlease please use gloves while applying the mat , not latex gloves unless you want to fight the stuff sticking to you constantly, Im talking about some good gloves. I made the mistake of not wearing gloves because I feel things better without them, gloves just have never worked right for me . But man oh man this stuff edges are sharp I sliced and diced my hands up so bad , Im talking I look like I got into a fist fight with a razor blade lol ...No fault of the company, it does say wear gloves .. 100% my fault. Just a consumer, I wanna let you know WEAR GLOVES !! Besides that , love the product have used in both my vehicles and have recommended to friends . Easy to use Easy to roll and Easy to cut to fit (also easy to cut fingers haha)

> 3 dayCovered a truck floor and back wall. Went on easy and made a noticeable difference in interior noise when knocking on panels. Project isnt drivable yet, so I cant comment on driving noise. Happy so far
