> 3 dayThe road noise and overall tinny sound of closing the doors, trunk, etc. on a 2008 Accord Coupe got me to searching for a solution. Installed this stuff everywhere - on the floor, inside the doors, inside the trunk, on the ceiling, and on the rear-fenders (from inside; theres an opening under the trim). We also added Noico adhesive foam to further control road noise. It made a huge difference and the car is much more pleasant to drive on the highway now. Also, closing the doors now makes a reassuring, solid thump. Note: Handling the headliner to remove it killed the foam under the cloth. :-( 11 years of baking under a black roof, in the Texas sun, had weakened the foam. It crumbled from the handling and the liner started to sag in just a couple of days. Ugh! Pulled out the headliner and had it recovered at a local shop. Had I known this was a possibility, I might have left the ceiling alone! That ended up costing an extra $125 ($250 if the shop also did the remove and install of the headliner).

> 3 dayupdated. i tried partial coverage. one box 50 sq. ft. and put it on all the biggest metal panels. it was somewhat effective but i was not 100% happy with it. for best results go full coverage. at least 90%. i keep buying more and tearing my car apart again lol! just buy 150 sq. ft. and go nuts and cover everything! not just metal, on the back of all the plastic interior panels too. put a couple extra sheets in the middle of big panels to double up. i have a big 4 door camry so a hatchback could do 100 sq. ft. you can definitely have too little. but you cant have too much! the more you put on the better it works! i will likely buy another box to do the hood and front fenders in the future. i also found that it works great inside plastic speaker enclosures around the house.

> 3 dayI ordered 4 boxes for a total of 200 sq ft. I still have half a box left after covering the inside of my entire van with 2 layers. Its heavy but really high quality especially for the price.

Greater than one weekSupper easy to work with. I laid them on my driveway. So they can heat up with the sun. That makes it even more easy to install it. I didn’t like the roller I used a handle of a screwdriver. That helps out a lot for the thought corners. I have a 89 c1500 and the cab sounds solid now.I used a box and half for the entire cab. Ceiling, floor, under rear window, fire wall I did double the one on the floor.

> 3 dayI used this on the floor of my car. Put a double layer down. Definitely muffled road noise but did not eliminate. I plan on buying a second box to do the doors and even the trunk. Im certain that will help even more but I dont think it will cancel all road noise.

> 3 dayI insultate the entire interior of my vintage VW Bus while restoring it and fell in love with this stuff. Easy to cut to size, GREAT adhesion and noise dampening. One NOTE.... It is REALLY important to wipe down the paint surface with a quality Wax and Grease Remover before you apply this product to ensure that it will stick well and permanently. Go Slo, Measure and cut carefully, clean, and apply, then use a separate specialty Seam tape to seal all the seams between pieces. Have Fun!!

> 3 dayI used these in my 2009 Jeep Wrangler all on the interior and it actually did a great job reducing noise. I used about half of the whole box covering the tub of it and the inside of the doors. It made the ride quiet and my sound system better because of the change of the acoustics. Takes time to install but is easy to cut with a stiff sharp knife. Buy a set of rollers with this though to make installation easier. Also, it takes about a whole day to install it. I have some left over I will probably use in a second car.

> 3 dayDecided to go with 50 mil Kilmat roll after doing extensive research and cost comparisons with other well known brands. It was a no brainer on paper. Pros: - Super easy to work with and extremely pliable. Can easily be cut with household scissors. - Does not have super sharp foil edges and can be applied with bare hands - Very well packaged and comes in 50 pre-cut rectangle sheets, which is much easier to manage than a giant roll - ZERO SCENT/VAPORS - Decent adhesiveness when applied to a clean surface prepped with isopropyl alcohol Cons: - Stuff is a bit thin. However, you get plenty of product so I applied double layers to all panels for essentially 100 mil thickness. I noticed a rather noticeable difference in tone when I knocked on the panels with a single layer vs. double layer Probably worth your efforts to double up the first time. - the square pattern application guides on the foil were a little bit difficult to press down fully with a regular roller. So I went over them as best I could with a roller, then used the back of the handle of a large flathead screwdriver which really flattened them out and gave me peace of mind Did 2 layers on both the inner and outer skin of the front doors of my coupe and still have over half of the product leftover. Stuff is really good and made a noticeable difference in my vehicle with just the doors done. Have not even touched the trunk yet. Rattles were cut down substantially and I can hear much more defined and fuller bass notes from my mids and subs. The front stage just feels a lot tighter and envelops the cabin. Tip: you do NOT need 100 percent application with these sound deadning tiles. 60-65% coverage on a panel is all you need. More than that and you are just wasting product and adding unnecessary weight. Would definitely purchase again.

09-06-2025Adhesion and sound deadening are good for 50 mil. The sheets are large, which makes it harder to manage, especially if there are alot of curvature areas in vehicle.
