> 3 dayJust finished building this last night in a 5 hour cream soda and twizzler building binge. Its LEGO. Good quality, the design makes sense and it was a lot of fun. It is to scale, so if youre expecting to play with the mini-figs, prepare to be disappointed. They are about a 1/4 inch high. The finished set is very tall (or long depending on how you choose to display), unless you choose to display as separate booster units. Instructions were easy to understand, and the booklet is the size of a magazine and contains some really great supplementary material about the Apollo mission, pictures, and information about the process of design and build of both the real thing and the lego version. Worth the money. As it has already sold out from LEGO once, buy now to ensure you dont lose access to such a unique set.... these types of sets always go up in value.

> 3 daythis kit is amazing. You will be amazed at the level of detail that went into its design and how good it looks when put together. It is realistic, beautiful, and a pleasure to build. Its also larger and more imposing than I anticipated, reflecting the grandeur of the original Saturn V. The included figurines really help to put the scale of this rocket into proportion. It is one thing to have seen those spectacular launch images, but to see a physical, realistic model is quite another! Its modular, so you can easily snap the first, second, third stage, and CSM apart. Theres even room for the LEM inside the Lunar Module Adaptor! The CSM separates as well allowing you to replay the major maneuvers of the Apollo mission. The model also includes a good looking LEM and 2 set-pieces so that you can mount and display the LEM with the astronaut figurines on lunar soil (US flag included!) and the CM after its ocean landing. I can think of only a few minor improvements. (1) The Launch Escape System is difficult to separate from the Command Module, meaning that you cant easily dock the CM with the LEM (one of the pivotal maneuvers of the Apollo missions). This is however possible with the LEM that is intended for the ocean landing set-piece (also a niece touch BTW!). The CM on the rocket is also just one single piece that is completely white with no detail whatsoever. This may approximate how it looked at launch time, but even a few small surface details would have made it look much better (2) The LEM is not easily mounted in the Lunar Module Adapter. It needs a stud that is already used by lunar set piece, but the kind of quick release snap used to keep the stages together would have been better. Overall I would say a LOT of pieces and detail went into the (often invisible) internals of the first, second, and third stages, but the the CSM, LEM, Launch Escape System, and Lunar Module Adaptor are not as well developed. Thats a shame because those are arguably the most interesting parts of the rocket. That said, this is an amazing kit and you will not be disappointed. Thanks Lego!

> 3 dayHad a great time building this model. Took me back to my younger years playing with Legos! Only one small issue (not sure if anyone else has experienced this) - The second and third stages don’t connect well and the side panels push out which doesn’t leave the end product looking very smooth. Minor issue but otherwise awesome product!

> 3 dayThis was a Christmas gift for my out-of-town son to get him thru these tough times of staying indoors so much. He said the legos are nothing like the legos when he was a kid. Hes very surprised how intricate it is and seems to be enjoying the building of it. Hes only run into one problem thus far and that is he was missing a black lego but he had an extra white lego so just just colored the white lego black with a magic marker. Cant wait to see the finished product when we visit next time.

> 3 dayI’m an adult LEGO and NASA fan. That said, the set was fun to put together but a bit repetitive compared to many other sets. Not a drawback and should be expected based on what you are building. The end result is worth it. Mine arrived in a mailer then inside is the LEGO brown box shipper then inside is the box that you would normally see on the shelf or in pictures. I don’t know why, but I loved getting that shipper box. Inside that, the instruction book is massive, it has a hard style magazine spine and quite a bit of information on the set and the rocket it is based on. There are several languages present in the book. The set is divided into 12 bags. Upon completing this set I stood the rocket on a desk and later it fell. Fortunately the tight construction made the set stay together very well for the fall. It comes with 3 stands to lay the set horizontally. If going for a vertical look, there is a 3rd party base available. Another perk to this set is there are no stickers, the designs are printed on the pieces for perfect alignment. I highly recommend this set to NASA fans.

> 3 dayThis is a really nice set. Its pretty large for its price, it feels very sturdy, and it is fairly easy to assemble. If your looking for a good showpiece set for a reasonable price, this is it.

> 3 dayMy lego collection on my desk at work consists primarily of Star Wars vehicles, (X Wings, Tie Fighters, AT-ST) etc. The collection got its Genesis from when we took a family vacation to Legoland and Dad had to have a Lego X-Wing...as a souvenir, of course. Well, the collection has grown to include some more fighters, a MIDI scale star Destroyer and Falcon, and a small Saturn V that I picked up (as a souvenir of course) at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. My son had recently gotten me the newest AT-ST for my desk and as I was perusing amazon for reviews of my kit, I stumbled across this Saturn V.....Wow....1969 pieces, (nice touch), and only $120.00. I had to get it. The model dwarfs everything else on my desk, but I dont care. It is my favorite by miles. This model is just so detailed its uncanny. Perhaps its not quite up to Ultimate Collectors Series, but Im not really sure how they could have crammed any more detail in it. Documentation: The documentation of this product is beautiful. The first two dozen pages are dedicated to a history of the Apollo program plus a profile page of the lego ideas designers who originally envisioned this kit, as well as the lego employees who worked to make it a reality. The remaining 175 pages are dedicated to construction. The instructions are clear and the bags easily identifiable. Build: The build is very interesting. There are some repetitive steps but they are not too bad. One really nice feature of this build is NO STICKERS. To me, stickers are the bane of Lego and anytime I see a sticker sheet, I cringe. No such problems with this kit. The pieces themselves are all printed with whatever custom graphics they need. I like that. Swooshability. At 1 meter tall, the model is not very swooshable but I do appreciate that all the stages and their associated rocket engines are adequately scaled and detachable. Both the Lunar Lander and the CM which is displayed on their dedicated moon and ocean plates are the same scale of the rest of the model. You can even place the Lunar Lander in its proper place on the vehicle. You can also swap out the command module on the rocket (which is skinned to appear to have the blast shield from the tower jettison rocket in place) with the grey one so that you can actually dock the CM to the LM. The model can be easily modified to represent every aspect of the apollo mission profile, so it serves a great visual when explaining how everything worked together to get people to the moon. Another great feature is the fact that the micro-figure astronauts included are also in scale. So you get an idea of just how massive the actual vehicle was. Nice touch Overall this model is a fantastic value. The build is challenging but not overly so. The model is definitely solid and can be displayed either horizontally or vertically. For any child (or adult) who has a love of the space program, this is a must buy.

> 3 dayThis is, in my opinion, one of the best lego set I have had the opportunity to build. This is a huge set that looks amazing. It is also super sturdy even though it splits in several components. My cats had dropped it a few times from the shelf and it didnt break into pieces (it is not a high shelf, but still, I have enough legos to know). Assembling it is amazing. It has some unique building techniques that make it very sturdy. It is heavy for sure, as there is little empty space on it. The lower section is specially interesting, as it doesnt use round pieces to form the body, but instead relies on a system of interlocking certain structures to create a cylinder structure. It is hard to explain and sadly I dont have pictures of the building process, but it is very unique, and honestly, a little hard to build. For the number of pieces, its amazing building techniques and just its size, I think this is a great value. I dont think this works as a particularly good playing toy, but for an older children, teenager or even adults who love space exploration history, this set would definitely be a treasured gift.
