> 3 dayDid this with my 3 year old daughter. We had a blast. (No pun intended) It took 5 hours or so over 2 days. I ended up building the last 2 bags of parts myself just because they were small. Wish they had more stuff like this. Even sci fi stuff. Like say the Star Trek Enterprise? NCC 1701 not 1701D. But both versions would be cool. Talking to you Lego.

> 3 dayI bought this for a kid that is hard to please and he LOVED it! Now I am hard against it finding something for next gift giving opportunity.

> 3 dayThis is worth EVERY PENNY! The build process was an absolute blast (took me 5 hours with adult and child assistants) and the end result is just stunning. It looks like a full-blown model from a distance, but up close there are a ton of tiny details to marvel at. As other reviewers have pointed out, this is a BIG set; I will have to think hard about where to put this one meter tall build.

> 3 dayAmazing. And HUGE! First, let me say that this is my first Lego set. Ive built Legos before (as a kid) but never anything that came with instructions let alone nearly 200 pages of instructions! The manual was very detailed and easy to follow. I did make a couple of small errors that I caught quickly enough and was able to correct - just needed to pay extra attention when attaching the outer body panels as they do vary slightly. Some of the diagrams were a little tough to decipher due to the complexity of certain pieces but it was all easy enough to figure out. Total build time was around 7 hours at a leisurely pace. First impressions of the completed build: CONS- just a few minor details that would have thrown this set over the top for me. The main command module has no printed details like a hatch or window while the splashdown command module does. The launch escape tower is not easily detached as it would have been in real life. Would have been cool to have room inside the command and lunar modules for the minifigs to be stored - the Lunar module set up would be fine for 2 of the 3 figs to be displayed but the third cant be accurately displayed as the 3rd astronaut would have remained in the command module. I plan to display this with the individual stages separated so I will need to devise a way to make more stands - the three provided are a little disappointing. PROS - very detailed and nearly spot on to the real deal. Challenging but fun build. Amazing how stable and solid the finished set is, well thought out construction. Loved that the build was broken up into the actual stages of the rocket and that the stages are easily separated once completed. Also fun that the service, command and lunar module can be taken out and docked together. The lunar module can also be separated into its decent and ascent stages. And the most interesting detail of all that no one seems to have mentioned in any of the reviews that Ive read....could it be a coincidence that the piece count is the same as the year of the first moon landing - 1969?!? I think not. I swore this would be my first and only Lego set but I saw that there may be a similarly scaled space shuttle released soon. Hmmm...

Greater than one weekIf youre an Apollo mission and a Saturn V Fan, youll love this when its assembled!!!!! But, it is for an advanced builder, so I had it done by my 10 year old nephew.

> 3 dayOnce constructed, this model will take up some considerable display space if you intend to show it off. Its tall (or long, if you choose to lay it down on the included supports) but the construction supports the build. I was especially impressed with the way the cylinders come together, as the construction techniques really hold the individual stages together well. The joining techniques for the stages provides exceptional connection strength, and I have yet to have a piece come off that I didnt intend to remove. Overall, this was an extremely enjoyable build and one I recommend to anyone that appreciates the engineering that goes into these models.

> 3 dayThis was the first of the set of the new realistic Nasa Adult Lego sets I recently purchased. Really brought back memories of early childhood Lego building and has a huge nostalgia factor as a result. Quite complex to build and definitely not something a kid should be looking into, really something someone ~16+ could reasonably get into. The set is quite tall and comes with its own horizontal display. Being somewhat of a crafty space nerd Ive displayed it vertically on my own as depicted. For the curious here is how to do this to make it look like its launching: Materials needed: 1x medium-to large flat bottom open top fishbowl, 1x lifx mini smartbulb, 1x baseless lamp (to house/power the bulb), and one package of plain white stuffed animal stuffing from a craft store (ideally its neatly packaged in a roll). Step-by-step: set-up the light, place light on floor (ensure the bulb does not rest on the ground), invert the bowl and place the light directly in the center, cover the bowl around all sides with the stuffing by unrolling the stuffing - over the sides of the bowl, pull/form the stuffing into cloud-like shapes while draping in a cone shape over the bowl so that some areas appear to have more density than others (this affects how the light shines through and creates a hot smoke effect, this is the most annoying part and dont be afraid to pull-off excess stuffing as needed), use a level to ensure the surface on top is flat and wont tip, place the Saturn V on the flattened top of the inverted fishbowl, set the light to yellows or oranges or even combine with lifxs flicker setting to make it appear like its launching!

> 3 dayAwesome engaging build. Very well thought out, and sturdy. Many vivid memories growing up with the space race. Fun way to show my grandson.

> 3 dayI saw this on Amazon warehouse deals and immediately purchased it, $89.00. The package had water damage, but the contents were all there and in perfect condition. This was absolutely incredible build. I knew it was gonna be good with all the reviews out there, but the real pleasure is putting this together. Very solid construction. I was expecting a fragil wobbly look not touch kind of thing. Not at all, you are encouraged to break apart each module to learn how the real Saturn V works. Really fun to play with and the micro figures really scales how huge the Saturn V was/is. The most impressive thing in the whole build for me is there are no specialized pieces to make this structure cynrical. Its all common lego pieces. Lots of good ideas for constructing castle towers, rounded walls or a water tower. May have to buy a 2nd one for parts.
