> 3 dayI was looking for a humidifier for our bedroom and initially bought a Vornado model. It definitely performed the job, but BOY was it noisy. Not just the distinct continuous whirring of the humidifier, but a periodic GLUG-GLUG-GLUG ever 30mins or so. Really not suitable for a bedroom. So I went to NYT Wirecutter and looked at their recommendations, settling for this Levoit. Night and day difference! Here is how it is better than the Vornado: * in automatic sleep mode, its so close to silent that it doesnt matter. It delivers humidity easily well enough to be on the other side of the room and I can just barely hear when it is operating, really just the sound of steam escaping. No whirring, clunking or gurgling whatsoever. * thank heavens! a sleep mode where all the lights and displays are 100% turned off. I dont need a light display in my room at night, thanks * top-filling reservoir. The Vornado needed you to remove the reservoir and fill it upside down. This leads to the worrying situation where if you knock the device or mishandle it at all, it might dump the entire contents of the reservoir instantly onto the floor. This is dumb. Its also the reason that the Levoit doesnt glug-glug-glug. * the app is pretty good. Some have complained that it spams you with emails and stuff - it does by default, but you can switch all that off. The app itself makes it easy to set up a schedule where it automatically comes on at - say - 7pm, and switches itself off at 6am, constantly monitoring the humidity and keeping it at 55%, with all the lights stay off all the time. The Vornado could not do this (or I couldnt figure out how to) My only complaint is that although it keeps bugging me to clean it (probably a good idea) its not really clear what an acceptable amount of cleaning is, it just tells you to disassemble it. Otherwise, its an impressively designed and functional piece of equipment. (full disclosure, I used to be a product designer, so I respect the thought and care that went into this device - the team should feel proud or themselves!)

> 3 dayThe item works well, but I don’t smell the essential oil. I tried scents that are strong, but there still isn’t any smell. If you are buying this to replace a diffuser, you are better off getting a separate essential oil diffuser.

> 3 dayI’ve always used the standard cheap humidifiers that everyone always has. You wake up in the morning and it’s empty and the room is still dry. I’ve been on a smart home kick lately and of course had to get a smart humidifier with a new baby in the house. My ol lady thought it was ridiculous until about a week of use and the smart functions kicked in and now she loves it too. It’s way more effective over a way larger area than thought. The upstairs of my house (4 bedrooms and 2 baths) maintain a 40% humidity at all times now. Once the desired % is reached it will ramp back down and save water and I fill it up every other or every three days. It will also send me a notification when it’s empty and I can control it easily with my Alexa. Great buy and super happy with it!

19-11-2024I bought this humidifier because my kiddos were constantly under the weather and I wanted something big enough to cover my living space during the day, since thats where we mostly were throughout the day. After a few houyr with the machine on, the room began to look smokey (Like a dense fog). So now we only use it a couple hours at a time because of the fog it develops.

> 3 dayWe love this humidifier! After going through 2 that broke or stopped working, I finally caved and bought a nicer one. It’s easy to clean, I love that I can turn it on or off with my phone while I’m rocking my child to sleep, and gives me updates and reminders when it’s out of water or needs a cleaning. It’s worth the money!

> 3 dayIt works great, just not the smart feature. That being the main reason I bought it Im kinda disappointed. The sensor updates too slow shutting off by the time my grow tent gets to 20% higher RH than the target. Ended up causing mold on most of my plants. I fixed it being getting a smart dehumidifier but I would still recommend this for people who dont mind if the humidity is slightly off and would like the app control.

> 3 dayThis was easy to set up, to use, and wow, did it deliver great results. In the Auto mode, it keeps the humidity at the level set via my smart phone. For me, even though I live next to the ocean, it means NO nose bleeds and dry throat upon waking up. Plus, my plants are growing even faster with gorgeous new growth. Very, very happy with this purchase. Highly recommend.

Greater than one weekThe product seems well made. It is easy to set up and operate also. The app is great too. Gives you more options actually. Also it uses WIFI and not bluetooth and that means you can change settings from any location you might be at. In other words if I was at work I can turn it on or off and use all the settings that it offers. The part that worried me is you can’t just leave water in it for a couple days sitting. I know that’s the sane with any humidifier because of bacteria or mold possibly developing. So unless your room is really low in humidity. (Under 30%), don’t fill it up your first time using it. It can hold about 1.5 gallons filled. Try a gallon or maybe slightly less. Experiment at first because the size of the room and other factors play a huge part on getting your desired results. Make sure you clean it even more often than once a week. Better safe than sorry. You can also get an additional year of warranty coverage by registering your product using the app you can use to control it. Don’t forget to do that because you only have 16 days from purchase date. Overall so far I like the product and the company gives plenty of info. Both in the box or on the internet. Make sure you purchase a hydrometer to keep in the room to measure your true humidity level in the room. I bought an Acurite for $16. Tells room temo and humidity level. So far everything is testing within 2% of the reading. I would buy this product again. But there are other good choices too. The app is what makes this device worth the price.

Greater than one weekI bought this product to control the humidity in my bedroom in order to help me breath at nights and reduce my dry skin issue especially in the winter. I must say it’s a great product to have with all its smart features, I set mine on a schedule to turn on at 8pm and shut off at 8AM which works great. So far I love it and have no major issues with it, only that I cannot smell the aroma when using the aroma pad. I believe it doesn’t spread the scents around the room I can only smell the essential oil at the back of the humidifier where the aroma pad is located. That’s the only issue I have with it but I still think it’s a great product and I will keep it.

> 3 dayI loved how easy this humidifier was to fill (and its silent when running) - but I made a very expensive mistake: I used tap water and kept it in the kitchen. Around the time I received this humidifier, I noticed that the flames on my gas stove were orange. It was an old stove, so I assumed there was something wrong with it - and I bought a new stove. When THOSE flames were also orange, I called my gas utility - they swapped out the meter (thank goodness that was free). Come to find out - the ultrasonic cool mist humidifiers send out vapor with everything thats in your water. Since I have a softener, the vapor included salt and lots of calcium/magnesium. Those compounds were causing my stove to burn orange flames; plus produced a stunning amount of white dust that went everywhere. Turning off the humidifier for an hour+ resulted in a normal-looking blue flame and no dust. I will keep this, and use it for bedroom, occasional use, filling it with distilled water. But I need a humidifier for my whole house, so have purchased a steam/evaporative-type humidifier that only sends out pure water vapor.
