I have a German Shepherd whose sole purpose in life is to generate loose fur. This thing helps keep her fur-drifts down between dragging out the Shark for deep cleaning sessions. The 2ah batter that comes with it is adequate, but I swapped it into my tool bag and put one of my spare 5ah batteries on this unit. The run time is greatly improved, and it seems to run at a little higher RPM with the bigger pack. Do yourself a favor and order a spare set of the cloth filters. Its a pain to clean the one that comes with it when youre in a hurry. I put the dirty ones in a zip-up lingerie bag and run them through the wash with my towels

LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I use it all the time. Works wonderfully.

This works well, but yep observations; 1) strange to keep the trigger pulled while vacuuming. 2) the top part is oddly heavy because of the battery. Took a little to get used to it and now it’s all good.

Ive used cordless vacuums before in the past but gave up on them as they were only as good as the lifetime of the battery. This sucker has a removeable battery with its own separate charger!

OMG I used this vacuum for the first time at my boyfriends house and when I got home I am mediately ordered one for myself. It is the best vacuum I had ever owned and I have owned Dyson and Bissels, but this one is the best. It gets into my corners without me having to bend over it has different attachments as well. So glad I found the Makita cordless vac.

With a 4 amp battery, this vacuum will go a long time. The dust cup is easy to clean and the tool is balanced about right. Good suction. Sadly, my wife has seized possession of this vacuum. Overall, this is a keeper.

This little vacuum works great! Used on job sites to clean up small debris and keep customers home looking nice. Worth my money.

I hated using my big corded vacuum. I hated trying to shove the vacuum head into places where it didnt want to go. I hated the onboard tools that fell overboard and were a pain to use. I especially hated repositioning the plug and trying not to run over the cord. I also hated my corded hand vac that screamed so loudly it made my ears ring. So when I bought a Makita drill I ordered this little cordless vacuum (tool only) to go with it. Its great! The suction is enough. Its easy to swap out the slot tool, but seldom necessary as the slim vacuum head fits into small spaces and picks up right to the front edge. Its handy for awkward places like the basement stairs. Its about as quiet as an efficient vacuum can be. A 5-minute daily cleanup and dust dump is all I need now and my 3.0Ah battery seems to last forever. I should add that I do not have carpet. This vacuum works very well on bare wood, concrete, and low-pile rugs, but I would guess that if you have deep-pile carpet you might not be quite so happy with it.

My husband recently expressed a wish for a small vacuum, not for major jobs but for the periodic pick up jobs that we all have from time to time - orzo spilled across the kitchen floor, for example. He was particularly impressed that this vac was made by Makita, a favorite line of tools in his construction business. We ordered this in mid-July, received it on Aug 1, and it slipped out of the return window at the end of August. Now, on September 13, he has used it enough that it needed to be emptied. Emptying this little vac created such a mess on the floor that he had to vacuum it up with a larger vacuum. He finds the process of emptying this little vac so unpleasant that he wants, badly, to return it. He is one of those folks we all know who can figure anything out, but this process is simply too difficult. I would volunteer to empty it for him when he vacuums, but he reminds me that he is vacuuming to protect my asthma and allergies, which would be triggered by vacuuming, let alone a dusty emptying routine. We have spent thousands with Amazon over the years, and nearly never return anything, but the difficulty of emptying this vacuum warrants an attempt. Alas, we will now have to throw ourselves on the mercy of Makita.

    Greater than one week

This little vac sucks, in just the ways I want it to and better than I hoped would be the case. The best thing about it is is portability, for which I bought it in the first place. After reading some reviews I was worried about its sucking power (as I recall, CFM not even listed on the product page) and considered buying the backpack version with two 5 amp batteries to replace that, but read about even that lacking sufficient sucking power, and even corded ones not pleasing customers in terms of ability to suck, so I finally went back to the original reason I bought this, which was portability and simply hoped the suction would be sufficient. Well it is, and I cant stop myself from turning to find where the cord might be as its hard to get used to being this liberated from electrical cords. In terms of how long it lasted, I first tried it on a partial charge (I first got the 5 amp battery for the Makita blower) and it lasted 15-20 minutes so I thought this full charge trial would tire after 30 minutes but not so! Im not sure how long it lasted, probably 30-40 minutes, but I got through my whole one story house about 3-4 times before I finally gave up on trying to empty the battery completely (assuming its better to charge a completely empty battery than a partially charged one) and simply quit from fatigue and lack of need to spiff up the house any more, and set the battery to charging again, hoping it was low enough not to harm the battery by charging it only partially discharged. So I am most definitely satisfied. Although I have 3-4 corded, high suction vacuums, one of them a powerful Sears canister type, this is going to be my vacuum of choice due to the convenience factor of carrying it around without having to constantly steer and reposition the cord. In my opinion this mini-vac is well designed to go with the 5 amp battery I possessed before buying it.
