> 3 daybought this vacum 2 years ago works good! not for thick or shag carpet great for hard wood tile or any hard suface works good on tight weave carpet perfect for me i dont have any shag style carpet, just wanted to add my review after reading others reviews. this vacum is great for quick clean ups before moping and maintenance! not for deep cleaning on carpets you really need somthing that has a motor driven roller brush for that. the plastic tank does crack and break as i saw on others reviews mine has some cracks. when i saw the cracks i odrered a spare tank for $15.00 havent used it yet but i have it just in case. very easy to use and light wieght beats having to plug in a cord and roll it up you spill you can vacum it up and put the vacum away in a minute or 2 very nice

> 3 dayHung the vacuum up in a convenient spot. Super easy to grab and use to make for quick vacuum ups. Bought it for quick small clean ups and we love it so much we have started using it for entire house. Has good suction and does the job well.

Greater than one weekI only use this as a hand held dustbuster only. Suction is good, lightweight, charge lasts a long time. Only downside for me is that you must hold the button to keep it running. I would prefer the ability to click it on and off without having my thumb constantly holding it in the ON position. At first I didnt think such a simple thing would matter to me, but after time and depending on the job, I find it annoying that it just doesnt stay on until I click it off.

> 3 dayYou would think “shop” vacuum with it being Makita, but this is better than the last 2 “home” vacuums we’ve had. Great suction, battery lasts longer than listed (30min listed, I get 45min to an hour with 3.0 battery. Convenient holster for hanging.

> 3 dayLet it be known I searched high and wide before buying this vacuum. While it leaves off a few things I think are indispensible (in a perfect world), I am reviewing it for what it DOES have. I knew before I bought it there was no headlamp, no stand, and had a trigger switch with no lock. BUT...I didn’t want to spend twice as much on a commercial brand with a crappy battery just to get those amenities. In my experience and for my needs an 18volt rechargeable is a minimum. This product has that, AND I can easily purchase an extra or replacement battery. It’s also easy to order more filters (which is prudent if you want the battery to last). I can vacuum 1000 sq ft (hardwood and tile) without losing suction, get ALL THE HAIRBALLS and crumbs in low profile places (like under the fridge), and it is super lightweight. The head pivots/rotates well enough. The one negative that other reviewers have mentioned is that it is NOT made for tall people - I’m only 5’2” and I can just barely extend it arms reach without having to bend over. I assume it will be great for car cleaning so that’s a plus. Overall I would definitely recommend this vacuum if your needs are similar to mine.

> 3 daySame cracks as everyone else. Design flaw. Uneven force will be applied to this spot when connecting and using daily. The crack WILL happen eventually to each and every unit; whether it will break catastrophically will vary. I did the same thing as AJ, one of the reviewers here by cutting off the bottom of a 30mm A-10 Warthog shot glass and used the tube as reinforcement. I had 6 of those shot glasses lying around so his idea made wonders. What I did extra was adding JB Weld to both surfaces (scuff the plastic and metal before applying the glue). I hammered the tube down gently. Once its settled, this spot becomes much stronger and doesnt look ugly. This repair should be done early on instead of waiting till the cracks develop further. BTW, the new version of this vacuum now uses clip in style instead of friction - which I believe to be no good because the weak spot remains weak while you no longer have the option to mend it by adding a straight tube. The picture shows that I cut the tube longer to the edge of spout. Picture uploading function is not available now. Still dont know why there is no uploading pic button anymore...

> 3 dayI bought this for a bathroom remodel project where I didnt have a lot of space for my large shop vacuum. I also combined this with a cyclone attachment after reading other reviews about the filter getting clogged. Even with using the cyclone, the main filter still clogs quickly and causes it to not suck anymore. The filter is easy to clean and get it back up and sucking but its still inconvenient.

> 3 dayA number of years ago I was looking for a hand vac. I read lots of reviews and this one had so much praise, but what impressed me was the positive reviews from men on ease of use because of the extension and the strong suction. One man said he even made it longer for him with pvc pipe. I bought one and it is one of the best investments I have ever made. Since then I have bought five more. Two of those were bought for our oldest son, one for a baby gift and then another one when they bought a two story house ( one for each level). I gave another son one when he and his wife moved. I have three. Two of those are at our primary home and the other at a second home. This vacuum is wonderful! I just got my third one and it came with a wall hanger. None of my others had this. I have looked for the holder as a separate purchase but no success. I hope Makita offers this soon.

> 3 dayIm a single guy living in an apartment, and my entire downstairs is laminate, with a carpeted upstairs. This is perfect for me, especially since the laminate in the kitchen shows every little crumb I drop. This is handy to grab, sweep and go. Its not the most powerful vacuum, but as long as you arent trying to sweep up a garage or alot of pet hair, it is powerful enough to pick up dust, dirt, crumbs and other little things. Also, be sure to keep the filter clean and dump out the mess regularly, to help maintain the motor.
