> 3 dayPremise of this software is great. However, the first year I had this all of the recipes I had hand typed into a cookbook that I created disappeared one day. Frustrating, but I figured ok - lets give this another go, it was an unfortunate mistake. Another years worth of recipes and today it happened again. I updated the program, opened it up and saw that my recipes were intact.... until I added one new recipe. Then, all of the recipes are gone and the new one I added was not even there. A completely empty cookbook again. Found the file, tried restoring to a previous version - nothing. Whoever creates this program has no idea how to design software - avoid like the plague.

> 3 dayHave been using MasterCook for years. Did a family and friends cookbook as Christmas gifts several years ago, they were a big hit, some have been handed down to their kids. I like the fact that I can now share recipe books and my recipes with family on line, great feature, I dont any longer get those phone calls How did you make this. Great program,

20-11-2024Im still learning the ins and outs of the updated software. I was using a very old 2002 release of this program. Im finding interface between the software, app, and website to be really kind of pointless, and hard to use. Also, the recipe import tool should be much easier to use, but its very awkward. Overall, I love the software. It formats my recipes, and lets me categorize them as I need to. Im developing a cookbook system and blog, and this software is tremendously helpful. I suppose I could make do with some freeware and use Google Drive to manage my recipes, but the ease of input and auto formatting MasterCook provides is so helpful. Ive used this software for 15 years now and LOVE it.

> 3 dayLike others, I have used Mastercook for 20 some odd years, and am now really impressed with this new version. I had finally decided to pull all of the paper copies of recipes I had gathered from the 70s until now and put them into Mastercook. There are hundreds. When I read that I could download from the web just by hitting Add To Mastercook, the job of that conversion was made SOOOO much easier. Even the processing of editing where necessary before adding is a snap. Yes, there are some that cannot be found, but maybe only 5%, so not a big deal. I also pulled together the recipes that I had kept online at sites like Epicurious, etc. so that I really have only one place to look, and organize, and make shopping lists. And I love the redundancy of the web storage, so if anything happens to my computer, I can reload the program and re-sync the files. Even the mobile app is a killer. Go into a store, find a great deal on, lets say game hens, pull up your game hen recipes, pick one and figure out what else you need to complete the recipe. Life is good.

> 3 dayI have hundreds of recipes, so the custom cookbooks are nice. I just wish there was a quicker way to put them in other than cut and paste, as they were all stored on various Word documents

> 3 dayOnce I got the program loaded it was somewhat confusing to get it to work. I believe with trial and error I will become very adapt of the program.

> 3 dayThe program is functional, but their marketing plan does not inform you that in order to continue using it after one year, you must have a SUBSCRIPTION. Personally, I feel withholding that information is less than honest marketing,

> 3 dayMy husband bought the original Mastercook program for me years ago & we had to update to this new one. I love how you can input new recipes or create your own ones with this program. And I like how you can create your own personal cookbooks with the program. What I also like about the program is within a recipe you can add what Cuisine it is & what type of recipe it is. That allow you to search within the cookbook of the type of Cuisine you want to make and search for a description of the recipe. Italian, Pasta. Italian, dessert. Southern, side dishes. Etc. You input the type of cuisine & you can input as many description within the cookbook for the recipes. The list is endless. I love the program. So much easier than try to sort through Pinterest for recipes without all the popup ads.

Greater than one weekI LIKE THAT I CAN SHARE MY RECIPES WITH OTHERS. WHEN I MAKE DESERTS OR COOKIES THAT I GIVE TO FRIENDS I ALSO GIVE THEM A COPY OF THE RECIPE.

23-11-2024So tired of crap applications. As a professional developer I see no reason to be required to connect to an internet site to store MY recipes--I have had three recipe databases and inevitably the recipes get lost. Either due to the company going out of business, poor upgrade procedures, or lost account. This is just ridiculous. Online storage and access should be a feature not a requirement.
