> 3 dayI have used Mastercook for close to 20 years. Every few years I have looked around at other software to see if anything better is out there. I even tried a couple that sounded promising but in the end I have always come back to Mastercook. In my opinion this is what sets them apart:

> 3 dayFantastic program. I just recently purchased this because of the new $180 a year subscription by the Cookn/DVO program. I was NOT about to start paying that amount for a recipe program. Anyway, that situation put me in search of an alternative. I found Mastercook 15. I have Windows 10. Everything works flawlessly on my desktop computer and also on my ipad. I really like that you can insert additional photos as demonstration pictures aside from the main photo. I also really liked the fact that I needed to convert my prior recipe backup from BigOven and was able to send that file to Mastercook, whose techs converted it to the mastercook file so I could flawlessly import it. AND Mastercooks techs took care of that in ONE day. Bravo. (When I purchased Cookn, they charged me $10 additional to buy a program that would convert my recipes to the .dvo files.)

> 3 dayI used MasterCook for years as a very happy cook. I think my original version was MasterCook 5. I saved ALL my grandmothers recipes on it. When this version came out it wiped every recipe I had saved for about 20 years from the storage unit. I am very sad. These can never be replaced I WOULD SUGGEST NO ONE BUYS THIS PROGRAM SINCE THEY DO NOT SAVE YOUR RECIPES. There was no respect for my years of work and the importance of saving the family treasures.

> 3 dayIm still learning the ins and outs of the updated software. I was using a very old 2002 release of this program. Im finding interface between the software, app, and website to be really kind of pointless, and hard to use. Also, the recipe import tool should be much easier to use, but its very awkward. Overall, I love the software. It formats my recipes, and lets me categorize them as I need to. Im developing a cookbook system and blog, and this software is tremendously helpful. I suppose I could make do with some freeware and use Google Drive to manage my recipes, but the ease of input and auto formatting MasterCook provides is so helpful. Ive used this software for 15 years now and LOVE it.

> 3 dayWhat I liked was the ability to retain the 2500 recipes I had in my files. What I think is total B.S. is not being able to transfer the software from one computer to another without having the original disk!
