> 3 dayWould not connect with my phone. I tried on and off for three days, many resets and screaming outbursts later, I gave up. I wanted it to work so badly, and I loath giving up but it was clear to me that this would not work. Especially the far range I was wanting to put it at after I got it hooked up, which I wasn’t able to do even within two feet of my wifi and phone.

Greater than one weekIt took me perhaps seven minutes to get this set up to control some outdoor lights. You use your smartphone to set it up. The two sockets are individually controlled and offer a lot of power for the money. Both can be actuated manually via smartphone app, or via your home automation platform. Ours is an Apple household, so I used my iPhone to set it up and connect it to our houses HomeKit hub (an Apple TV) for secure Internet accessibility and programmability. Apple Homekit allowed me to set up an automation so that one of this units sockets (in our case, running some outdoor lights) turns on every evening at sunset, adjusting automatically for the season and Daylight Savings Time. The socket is then set to automatically turn off at 10:30 each night. The second socket well use for Christmas lights. This replaces a high-end outdoor timer that was always getting screwed up by power failures and of course the beginning and ending of Daylight Savings Time. (It was high end in the sense that its a model meant to last more than 18 months, which cheaper timers dont, in my experience.) The old timer is located in a really inconvenient place, so the remote controllability and programmability (via HomeKit) of this device really addresses a lot of frustrations! Physically, its just a sturdy AC cord with a plug on one end and the socket assembly on the other. Its not heavy and is meant to simply hang off a wall outlet. No mounting is required. Recommended! If any troubles develop, Ill update this review. Based on first impressions, its a solid five stars.

> 3 dayI use this with my Home app (Apple) out front of my house. One outlet is for my car charger, the other is for decorative lights. I have peak electric hours I dont want to be charging my car, so the one outlet is set to turn off during certain hours. The other outlet I have set to turn the lights on at sunset and to turn off at sunrise. Its great being able to tell the device to do two different things. Its well build, it looks nice, and works really well.

> 3 dayEverything about this plug did exactly what I needed it to except for the plug itself. Works great with HomeKit, each outlet is separately controlled, and the unit is waterproof. The problem was that the plug is huge and completely inflexible. You have to use the lower outlet for it to lay flat and since I already had another device in that outlet that was just as inflexible, I ended up getting a different smart plug and moving this one to the garage.

> 3 dayThe product looks nice, has two plugs that can be remotely controlled independent of each other and functions as advertised. HomeKit setup was easy and the Wi-Fi range proved adequate to reach one Smart Plug at the rear of our property (about 50 feet from the back of the house). Can be controlled by push button switch on the front, via icons in the HomeKit APP, and by voice request to Siri. Finally, the Meross Outdoor smart Plug has companion indoor plugs, embedded wall switches, garage door openers that provide easy upgrades to plain old plugs and switches that are installed as a default by most home builders.

> 3 dayThis was my first meross product in my Apple HomeKit. I purchased this outdoor smart plug because its one of the only reasonably-priced ones on the market compatible with HomeKit. I followed *all* the instructions and warnings when connecting it to my home network and it was still very, very difficult. I actually had to return the first plug I ordered because it absolutely refused to connect to my home network (I presume it was defective). The second one I ordered still took about *20* tries to get it onto my network and into the Home app. My advice: 1. Try over and over to add it to Home via the meross app. it might take > 10 tries with factory resets between attempts. 2. Once its added DO NOT try to move it to another outlet... I first performed the setup close to my wifi router to maximize the signal; then I planned to move it outside (it is an outside plug after all...) but when I did this is removed itself from my network and could not reconnect. I had to redo the entire setup outside and I dont plan on ever moving the outlet again for fear it will disconnect. 3. The meross app might warn you that its been added to Home but it was not added to the meross app itself - ignore this, after some time it will appear in the meross app by itself. After all of this hassle it seems to be connected to the home... hopefully it stays that way. I probably would not buy another meross product based on my experience with this plug.

> 3 dayI’ve spent about 3 hrs getting this setup and I found out the hard way that it does not support WPA3 security. I have about 12 Meross smart light switches and they all support WPA3 so I had no reason to think that this plug wouldn’t. Surprise, it does not. Once I turned off WPA3 on my router the setup completed. I checked for firmware updates and it says that I’m up to date. I turn back on WPA3 and it loses connection to the router. This is probably the issue that most everyone has run into who said that it would not connect to their routers. Edit: A new firmware update to ver 4.1.33 makes this outlet compatible with WPA3. You may have to revert to WPA2 in order to connect to the device and update the firmware and then turn WPA3 back on.

> 3 dayThis is a sturdy, easy to use unit with reliable Alexa integration. Even though it’s only rated for 10 amps or 1250 watts, it uses a higher grade, weather resistant 14 AWG electrical cable rated as SJTW, 105C. The outlets are plugged with thick rubber caps that look like they’ll hold up well. Setup is simple, thanks to well written instructions and a good app. There’s a separate set of instructions for the Homekit users too. It has a handy notch to mount the outlet to the wall (though I wish this was offset so that the screw would be accessible). There’s also a little loop on the strain relief that can serve a similar purpose. The app is great. It does a good job of guiding the setup process and it seems to be written by someone who understands English like a native speaker. Once set up, the app has a couple features that are sometimes overlooked: a countdown timer so that the outlet will automatically turn off after X minutes and an option to turn off the LEDS. Plus, there’s a widget to control devices directly from the homescreen. Also, it has one essential feature that every manufacturer ought to have: a direct link to the manual. Alexa integration works flawlessly and the wifi range seems good. Alexa commands are carried out reliably and with no more than a couple seconds delay. Alexa routines also work well. Each plug can be named and addressed independently. The unit as a whole can also be named. (Hint: use names that sounds distinctly different.) Right now I have the unit about 150’ from an access point, going through half a dozen walls, in a RF congested area and I’ve had zero issues.

> 3 dayLoved the ease of setting up and using. Apple HomeKit setup was a snap, took about 10 seconds after scanning the image... I have my Meross app, went in there, device was listed and just had to select “Add” and was immediately available with Alexa (tied my Meross account to Alexa). Good WiFi range and is extremely responsive. Would’ve been nice to have the option of setting up in the Meross app without needing to use Apple HomeKit first on iOS devices, but was super easy and had no issues. Says Waterproof, but I don’t deem IP44 waterproof. Nevertheless it so far hasn’t had any issues being outdoors. App isn’t the prettiest, but works consistently and reliably, so no complaints. Great value and highly recommend the outdoor plug and Meross in general.
