> 3 dayThe connection on this drops out very often that I just gave up trying to reconnect it to my network. It has a big switch you can easily press so I just use that. I have numerous Meross products like this and light bulbs and I hate to switch all the devices but I have to go with a different brand.

> 3 dayI bought this to schedule lights we have on our deck to go on and off with home automations in HomeKit. The setup was very simple and what you would expect from any HomeKit enabled product. I simply plugged it in, opened the Home app, scanned the HomeKit sticker on the side of the plug, waited a few seconds, and then assigned the room and names for the outlets. I’d say it only took two minutes to set it all up. For those reviews saying it does not work with HomeKit, they clearly don’t know how to do it. After setup, I was able to add to my automations and control the lights on and off my network, as I have multiple Apple TV’s and HomePods that act as hubs. I’ve only had it running a couple of days, but will update on how well it holds up to damp conditions and rain. At this point that’s the only thing I’m worried about based on other reviews, but happy so far.

> 3 dayUsually, HomeKit devices are trivial to set up. This one was just weird. But once I got it working, it has been bulletproof. A good device at a great price, as long as you’re willing to fiddle a bit to begin with.

20-11-2024Maybe the units interoperability with HomeKit is just on the edge? My first unit was always a little flakey but then, after ~7 months (Nov 2022) stopped working altogether with my HomePod and iPhone (iOS 16.4.1(a)). Can reset it and re-add it, but then the Home app reports it as non-responsive.... Same difficulty.

> 3 dayConnecting this unit to HomeKit was very straightforward and took only a couple minutes. Works just as I expected. I have incorporated several devices into my HomeKit systems, so have some familiarity with the process. This may have been the quickest and easiest.

> 3 dayEverything about this plug did exactly what I needed it to except for the plug itself. Works great with HomeKit, each outlet is separately controlled, and the unit is waterproof. The problem was that the plug is huge and completely inflexible. You have to use the lower outlet for it to lay flat and since I already had another device in that outlet that was just as inflexible, I ended up getting a different smart plug and moving this one to the garage.

> 3 dayThis is what I have been looking for to augment my HomeKit setup without breaking the bank. I have other Meross indoor plugs and bulbs and although they are cheaper than alternatives, in my experience they work equally as good or even better. The device is a lot smaller than I had anticipated but works like a champ. Setup was effortless and connectivity to HomeKit is superb. I don’t really care about this since I only control the device remotely, but there is only one button for both switches - so something to consider for those who like to occasionally use the physical buttons. Also the rubber covers for the plugs may interfere with plugs that are a little bit larger, but I was able to tuck mine aside. The pictures look like both outlets are covered up on the house outlet but it’s actually the outlet cover that needed to be flipped around - once done it only took up one outlet.

> 3 dayWorks great! I have not been able to test long term use outdoors yet, but it is very handy and easy to use. I plugged it in, went to wifi settings, clicked on the device, and it asked me to scan the QR sticker on the device. It tried to connect and didnt work. The app wouldnt show it, and it wouldnt let me add it again because it said it was already there (but it didnt show up). I held down the power button on the device and it reset. I was able to repeat the same process and it worked the second time. Each switch can be controlled independently from your phone. It can also work with voice commands, but I have not tried those yet. I highly recommend!

> 3 dayGetting the setup sequence right is important - otherwise, it may appear that the device wont show up in the Meross iOS app. Even when it shows up in Homekit. Heres what I found (after some trial & error): First You must have a separately broadcast 2G network, the Meross only has 2G (and the instructions make note of the requirement for a 2G network) - a combined 2G/5G broadcast network wont work. Your iPhone has to be on the 2G network when you added the outdoor switch to your network/homekit/meross app. Second I have my IoT devices on a separate VLAN with firewall rules that prevent crossover from the IoT VLAN to my regular network (I do have firewall rules which allow my iPhone to connect to the IoT VLAN - one way only). Dont try to install and add the Meross app from the App Store - do this AFTER you have connected the Meross outdoor switch to Homekit. To connect to Homekit Connect your iPhone to your 2G network and turn on the Meross outdoor switch - you should see a green/orange light blinking (to reset the Meross, just hold down the power button until it resets). Under Settings, Wi-Fi, you should see the Meross_SW_XXXX setup new device -- click on that, you should see a dialog box with a request to add it to Homekit and WiFi. Once you click on allow/continue, next up will be Homekit. in Homekit, scan the QR code on the side of the outdoor switch or box. It takes a while to add it to Homekit. Once it it is added to Homekit, then download the Meross app from the iOS App Store and follow the app registration and installation instructions. The Meross MS620 outdoor switch should automatically be included in the available devices to setup in the Meross app. If you try to add the Meross app first and then add it to your network or Homekit, well, that didnt work for me. Only adding to Homekit first, then installing and adding to the Meross App worked. Why should I care if it is in the Meross App vs. Homekit? Unless I open some more ports (more firewall rules) to allow the Meross outdoor switch to send data back/forth across my IoT VLAN and regular network, Homekit automation wont work (e.g., turn Holiday lights on at dusk and turn off at dawn). You will be able to turn the switch on/off within Homekit (manually, just not via automation). The Meross app, with its own Routines (e.g., on at dusk, off at dawn) is able to send automation to the switch when it is on the regular network (i.e., non IoT VLAN) - provided you have the firewall rules setup to allow one way access from your regular network to your IoT VLAN.
