I use this with my Home app (Apple) out front of my house. One outlet is for my car charger, the other is for decorative lights. I have peak electric hours I dont want to be charging my car, so the one outlet is set to turn off during certain hours. The other outlet I have set to turn the lights on at sunset and to turn off at sunrise. Its great being able to tell the device to do two different things. Its well build, it looks nice, and works really well.

I tried all the steps to install including checking the Gateway Router to see if the MAC address was recognized (it was). The plug never connected even when I was going through the setup in the office with my router next to it. The instructions then stated to remove the MAC address, reboot the router, and re-enter the address. Forget about this.

Product worked great for the first few months, but then suddenly I would get the “this accessory is not responding message” every time I would open Apple Home kit to use. After reconnecting, it works for about 5 minutes then it is unresponsive again. Maybe it’s an issue with Apple Home and not the device, however, I run into issues using the Meross app, too so seems like it’s a deck code issue. Great when it worked, but it usually doesn’t and not worth the hassle of having to reconnect every time I want to turn the outdoor string lights on.

Easy to setup in homekit like most homekit devices. I was pleasantly surprised that it allows you to control the two outlets separately - in homekit you can long click the plug to see both outlets and if you go to settings you can even unpair them to show as two separate devices. My only complaint is that it uses wifi instead of thread. I realize thread is brand new and more products will use it as it continues to become popular. I just dont like all these smart plugs clogging up my wifi. But for the price point and the homekit native compatibility this plug is hard to beat.

Let me start with build quality. Its questionable. I ordered two. One came with an open crack between the two halves of the plastic body because the unit had not been assembled correctly. Fortunately, I was able to take it apart and re-assemble it. It is worth noting that there are no rubber gaskets or other seals to keep water out of the main housing. The two rubber outlet covers which were black in the product photos are actually yellow. They are very supple and seem to provide a good seal when inserted into the receptacles. (The only seal in the entire product.) However, when they are not inserted into the receptacles, they hang between the two receptacles from a very, very thin strip of rubber. It is not hard to imagine them getting accidentally torn off, but thats not even the biggest problem with them. It is almost impossible to plug in two cords at the same time because the products two receptacles are placed fairly close together and those hanging covers get in the way. You have to really pull the covers out of the way with some force to insert a second plug. It seems inevitable that the rubber covers will get torn off. If the designers had hung the covers in any other direction, this problem would have been averted. Similar products all get this right. Only meross gets it wrong. (Its worth noting that meross offers another version of this product—same model number but different housing—that does solve this problem...while creating another.) The biggest design hassle for me is the plug end of this product—the one that gets inserted into your AC receptacle. This is a product designed to be used outdoors. The designer should absolutely assume it is going to be plugged in inside a weather housing, yet meross drops the ball here too. The plug points down at a 90-degree angle. This means if you plug it into the top outlet, you cant use the bottom outlet. If you plug it into the bottom outlet, you cant close the door of the weather housing. If you want to use two of these units together, forget it. You cant. Attaching the cord to the plug at a 45-degree angle would have completely solved this problem. As is, there is no solution. So is there anything good about this product? Absolutely. It was easy to connect to HomeKit. Once you switch your iPhone over to the products ad hoc wifi signal while you set it up, everything works exactly like it should. And the product allows you to control each outlet independently. In fact, functionally, this product checks all the boxes. Unfortunately, its physical design is a deal killer.

I figured I would run into some quirks with the dual/switch outlet, but it was one of the easiest Wi-Fi HomeKit products to setup/install. Would buy again. I used for a fountain, and for the fountain lights each with its own timer/automation.

So I live in an apartment complex and bought this for my outdoor balcony for my string lights. I tried to set it up on my balcony and each attempt ended in failure. After several on and off attempts over the span of a few hours, I brought it inside out of frustration. I then tried to see if I could pair it inside, and it worked on the first try. Not what was happening from a technical standpoint but that fixed the pairing issue, and now it works fine.

This is my third outdoor plug. I have them set up to turn lights on and off at sunset and sunrise.

So far this outdoor switch has been working flawlessly. I have it connected to a string light and set up an automation to turn them on at dusk and off at dawn and it has been working exactly like I wanted. I’ve been using HomeKit devices since their inception and this was by far the easiest and smoothest to set up. It does only work on 2.4GHz networks, like a lot of HomeKit devices, but it has not been an issue. It’s also very nice that you can control both outlets independently on the Home app. I honestly did not expect that and although I don’t have a use for the other plug yet, I think it’s a great feature. Hopefully it holds up over time outdoors as I don’t know what I’d do without it now!

We needed an easy way to control our outdoor lighting. Once these were connected to our Apple HomeKit, they worked flawlessly. Great design.
