The connection on this drops out very often that I just gave up trying to reconnect it to my network. It has a big switch you can easily press so I just use that. I have numerous Meross products like this and light bulbs and I hate to switch all the devices but I have to go with a different brand.

This is my third outdoor plug. I have them set up to turn lights on and off at sunset and sunrise.

I have several Meross products, and pairing this to my home system was simple, in part thanks to the clear feedback given through the light behind the power switch. I was surprised at how nice and compact the unit is, and the flat plug is perfect for my setup. Its great to be able to control either outlet independently, or you can use your preferred home automation software to group both together as one device. My only complaint is the outlet covers. Because of their placement and shape, they get in the way if you are trying to plug in two heavy duty outdoor power cords. Fortunately they are made of a soft silicone type material, rather than hard plastic, so they can be pushed out of the way or compressed, but it might require a little dexterity. Since they are IP44, they should be allowed to hang down so rain does not enter the outlet.

Bought this device to control an outdoor fountain and LED fountain lights separately using Smartthings. Could not connect to Smartthings without first installing the Meross app and linking the plug to it. Once it was added to the Meross app, it easily connected to Smartthings. After a 1 hour power outage the plug would not reconnect to Smartthings, showed off line. The Meross app was able to control the plug however. I had to manually re-add the device to Smartthings. I used to use a mechanical outdoor timer for my Christmas lights. I want to use a smart timer this year instead so I can control the timer from my iPhone. This is helpful if you have to place your timer at a hard to reach location. I was aware that this Meross smart Wifi outdoor plug was designed for Apple Homekit but I knew it also works with Amazon Alexa and Meross ios app. It has 2 outlets that can be turned on/off separately. I recommend setting it up indoor first before you place it outside. Setting up a Meross smart device is straight forward since its Meross ios app will walk you thru step by step. However, as this device is designed for Apple Homekit, you need to set it up in Home ios app first before you can add it in Meross app. Setting up in Home ios app is easy by just scanning the QR code on the side of the plug and follow the direction to add it into your home wifi. I don’t use Apple Homekit so I used Meross app to setup the timer for this plug in the Routine feature. After you set up the device in Home app, you open Meross app, click on the ” + “ sign at the top right corner and you will see it has an option to add the “Smart Outdoor Plug”. I hooked it up to my landscape light and tested it for 3 weeks. It went thru the California fire, Santa Ana wind, and rainy weather without any problem. In 2 weeks, I’ll have a reliable smart timer for my Christmas lights. It’s another 5-star smart device from Meross.

I bought this to schedule lights we have on our deck to go on and off with home automations in HomeKit. The setup was very simple and what you would expect from any HomeKit enabled product. I simply plugged it in, opened the Home app, scanned the HomeKit sticker on the side of the plug, waited a few seconds, and then assigned the room and names for the outlets. I’d say it only took two minutes to set it all up. For those reviews saying it does not work with HomeKit, they clearly don’t know how to do it. After setup, I was able to add to my automations and control the lights on and off my network, as I have multiple Apple TV’s and HomePods that act as hubs. I’ve only had it running a couple of days, but will update on how well it holds up to damp conditions and rain. At this point that’s the only thing I’m worried about based on other reviews, but happy so far.

I utilized this with Apples HomeKit software and for the most part it works exactly as advertised. Setup is easy and HK controls it very well. Since I had my Christmas lights hooked up to it I was able to have them come on at sundown and turn off at midnight. My only frustration was I had to reset it once due to some network issues and the support site for Meross is rather poorly designed. So took a bit of googling on my part to figure out how to reset the device.

Super easy setup! One of the outlets is for the water fountain pump. And the 2nd outlet controls the water fountain LED lights. Setup was super fast, and works flawlessly with HomeKit!!

I just wanted it to work in coordination with my iPad, I could not achieve that you need some kind of a linking home device to fully set this up. I gave up, sent it back.

Great value for the money. Have used this brand in other applications. Highly recommend this for Christmas light controls.
