Couldnt be happier with this extruder. Install was straight forward, it bolted right up to the stock extruder plate and motor. Be aware there isnt a place to mount a filament runout sensor, so this will require a custom part of some type. The runout sensor is a slight hassle, but the quality of prints, ease of getting a great first layer, and the extruder clicking sound going away is more than worth it. Honestly, this should be a no-brainer upgrade for anyone looking for a better printing experience.

I cant believe it. I was shown how much difference an extruder can make. Yes Im a newbie, 8 mos. in. After a serious filament clog my stock plastic extruder started talking to me. Click, clack, what the heck was that, kind of noises. So I ran across this bad boy and made sure it would fit my Vyper. After a seamless installation I am beyond impressed by the results. Its like a new printer. It fits like a glove and machined to perfection. When it comes to moving filament NO HESITATION. I went from 425 esteps to 138. Extruder runs quiet as a mouse. NO DRAMA. Follow the instructions, however, in my case, when the wire harness was used it caused the motor to run backwards. Leave it alone on the Vyper, it works fine. But of course check it. I went with 3.5 mm retraction distance at 45mm speed. Left the flow alone, the test cube was perfect. Prints are awesome. I cant say enough about this thing.

If youre anything like I was, you know you want an all-metal dual-gear/dual-drive extruder to be able to reliably push TPU and abrasives through your Bowden tube, but youre probably horrified by all the cheap knockoffs and ridiculously overpriced parts with nothing in between. Yeah, Im sure the BMG is great and all, but I dont need a $100 extruder thats going to be a pain to put on my printer. Well, now theres finally a sane option. I was never interested in MicroSwisss direct drive, but this piece is like they laser cut the extruder part right off of their direct drive and offered it in a form factor that lets you remove Crealitys POS plastic extruder and drop this right on in its place. How much better is this? Let me count the ways: - Its all metal, beautifully machined aluminum, that isnt going to crack - The filament intake is on the same side as Crealitys, but moved farther from the lead screw so its not rubbing through grease - The intake also has a small length of Capricorn PTFE tubing leading into it, so the filament REALLY cant touch the lead screw on its way in - The filament is pushed forward by two opposing gears that feed it through with equal force, rather than one gear smushing the filament against a smooth wheel. Less stress on the filament and more accurate extrusion. - No smushing means abrasives wont degrade this at any noticeable rate, and 95A TPU sails right through without binding up - The Bowden tube gets pushed right up to the gears in this design, so close that you have to cut a V in the end of it, rather than having a gap where the filament hits open air before finding the tube. This is what prevents soft filaments like TPU from binding up. - The gears are very similar in design to the BMG extruders filament gears -- great grip without cutting too deep. You wont have underextrusion issues by re-loading filament whose last 15cm have gone through your gears before. They say this extruder works on any different printers, but on my Ender 3 v2, installing this was a zero-effort operation. The instructions are on their website (not in the box), assembling it and aligning the gears is no big deal, in fact the hardest part is probably V-cutting and lining up your Bowden tube -- which isnt that hard. The Bowden tube is held in place by a brass compression collar and steel nut rather than the sloppy bite fitting the stock extruder has, so the most important thing is DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THE STEEL NUT ON THE COMPRESSION COLLAR! It comes with two collars in case you get it wrong on the first try, but seriously: Make it snug, then STOP TURNING. The durability of these gears is impressive. I have a highly abrasive wood filament that clogged my nozzle and ground against the gears for a good 20 layers until I caught it. The gears were packed full of shredded wood filament that they chewed through in the process, and I thought for sure theyd be completely dulled. Nope. I popped the gears off, washed them out in the sink and pushed any remaining filament out with a toothpick, re-oiled the tensioned gear, and it was like new again. Amazing material quality. The one thing that wasnt perfect (not at all worth removing a star for) is that the tensioned gear did have a bit of a squeak right out of the box. After some lubricant research, I went with Super Lube 51004 Synthetic Oil with PTFE, High Viscosity because it has an operating temp as high as my hot end, so wouldnt burn or smoke if any got on the filament. Squeak solved. tl;dr: THIS is the extruder upgrade youre looking for if youre not going with a direct drive.

Works absolutely great, was the key to first layer sticking problem I had

Definitely a step up from stock. Make sure you align the gears properly, adjust e-steps and change the retraction settings. In other words, follow directions. Your prints will thank you.

For the price I thought I was getting a stainless steel part, but its all aluminum. It works so far.

Does a great job and easy to install the instructions are really straightforward did have to calibrat my steps after install but worth every penny.

This adds a great deal of precision to filament metering, which contributes to better print quality. Worth every penny, and the effort to install it!
