my whole printer is all black so it sticks out, but its so beautiful to look at. its not worth the price if youre not printing with impregnated filaments.

This is the best upgrade you can purchase for your printer. The tolerances are exact, the dual feed gears mesh together really well, the tension system is great. No more chatter, not more failure to feed forward. I works perfectly. I did have to buy a new stepper motor because mine came with a pressed on gear, but the new one was $11. Installation was easy. Go for it, spend the money, you will not regret it.

Edit: 04/12/2022 After some time trouble shooting and getting spare brass sleeves, and somehow getting them to fit the inner diameter of the bowden and the connector, I would recommend this over others, but at the same time, I hate it. Major design flaw, the bowden tube connector part has a outer screw in with a piece used to hold the bowden tube in. If ever you have a jam and need to replace the bowden tube, the screw in stopper will be permanently stuck to the old bowden tube. Making it impossible to use a third party screw in stopper due to it being a outer screw in rather then an inner screw in. The product is great and all, but it is a one time use for a bowden tube.

I really like this bowden extruder. Its well built and a huge improvement over what came with the printer.

Best upgrade I’ve done so far, however… My Ender 3 Pro came with the extruder stepper motor with a press fit gear, which was a pain to remove, but I was able to use it once I did. I highly recommend buying a stepper motor with the flat shaft if your printer doesn’t have one already. Removing the old gear is not worth the trouble considering a new motor is under $20 from Creality, but if you’re impatient like me, it can be done lol. **if you do decide to use the press fit motor, make sure you don’t over-tighten the grub screw on the new gear. I made that mistake and a crack formed on the gear, I was able to get it replaced though and the new one has been working perfectly for over 2 months.

My Anycubic Predators came with a 3:1 gear ratio extruder, which had gears and bearings and a lot of parts. The original extruder had a very high steps per mm (430), which gives it great resolution. One of the bearings disintegrated and I bought the micro swiss extruder to replace it. The micro swiss has a lot lower steps per mm (139), which is a lot less resolution, but it is built really well and has a lot less parts. For what i do, i favor reliability over precision. Time will tell, but im betting that the all-metal construction and simplicity will make it last longer than the OEM extruder. After printing with it, i dont see a noticeable difference on the benchy between the original extruder and the micro swiss. I have a feeling that the lower steps per mm on the micro swiss are still high enough to prevent visual defects. Seems like a great value to me!

When I was well in practice of using our new printer I had a lot of frustrating issues. The items and upgrades were brand new so I figured it was me and gave up for a long while. Gave up and purchased this and it solved everything. Now I can smoothly switch filament in the middle of a print with no issues!!
