> 3 daySo far, this seems like a great quality knife. The blade came shave-your-arm-hair sharp right out of the package and has remained so through some light duty work (mostly veggie slicing). The carbon steel took a patina very easily and nicely. The handle feels beefy and good in the hand. People with smaller hands may want to get a regular companion, though, as the belly on the handle is pronounced. However, if your hand is large enough, it offers great stability and feel. Im not a giant or anything (6ft), so I think this handle should work for you unless youre very petite. Some people harp about the sheath, but I kinda dig it. Ill be putting the knife through more rigorous paces on a camping trip this weekend (whittling, batoning, etc.). If theres problems, Ill letcha know.

Greater than one weekI know adding one more review to the thousands this knife already has is almost moot, but it deserves it. Out of the box, this is a great knife, and if taken care of and used properly, should last you ages. Like many others, though, I wanted a little more. But thats the fun in this knife, its fairly customizable and cheap, so if you mess it up, you can buy another without breaking the bank. The scan grind is great for wood work and is relatively sharp out of the box. I still recommend sharpening it yourself though. Not too hard, even a rookie like me did it with no problem. I decided to add a 90 deg spine for ferro striking and also gave it a nice forced patina using some hot apple cider vinegar. Most people will recommend adding some sort of feature to help secure the knife in its sheath, and thats never a bad idea, however, I think it stays put pretty well on its own. If youre looking for an inexpensive, entry level knife for bushcraft, around the campsite or even the house, this is a great start.

> 3 dayDidnt arrive as sharp as I hoped. Also wish its spine was sharp enough to strike a ferro rod. Overall great knife though.

Greater than one weekThis is my second MoraKniv. My first is a model 546 with a 3.6 stainless steel blade, so I thought Id try this Companion MG model with a 4 carbon steel blade. Both knives are of comparable and excellent quality. My newest, this Companion MG, has a slightly longer blade and handle. The Companion MG has a slightly thicker blade, is slightly heavier and has a handle that feels rubber-like which provides an excellent grip. Morakniv knives are well known for their sharpness right out of the box and thats certainly true of mine. The high quality of the blade and its potential has prompted me to make a leather strop and order some honing compound so I can keep them as sharp as they came. There are videos on YouTube that show how to do this. These very sharp, tough Swedish made knives seem to do most everything at a fraction of the cost of most American brands most of which are made in China. They also come with excellent molded plastic sheathes with a belt loop that will hang on up to 1 3/4 wide belts. Morakniv offers dozens of different knives many for specific purposes, and I plan to buy more including for gifts. If you want to be impressed go to: morakniv.se/en/ Click on About Us and on Our Production. The entire website is very interesting and well done too.

> 3 dayThis knife is a step up from a standard Mora Companion. The blade is much thicker, but the knife still just feels good in your hand. In my opinion, even better balance. It comes hair shaving sharp. The sheath is fairly standard for Mora. Overall, a robust little knife that youll hardly feel hanging on your belt. And especially for the price, very hard to beat.

> 3 dayI have purchased several of these knives. For the price and the quality, it cant be beat. Its what I carry on my side to do work around the yard. Ive chopped kindling with it, I use it to cut twine in the garden. I open big boxes that I get in the mail with it. The shape of the handle fits my hand very nicely. I would imagine if you had a huge hand, this might not be the most comfortable for you. The blade is sturdy and sharpens very easily. It fits nicely in its sheath and I have never worried about it falling out. I highly recommend it
