I love knives and adding this to the group I keep & use on a regular basis. The blade is stainless but no idea it’s hardness as it’s not marked with anything else. Keeping it sharp reminded me of sharpening my kitchen knives vs some of thicker/heavier hunting blades but for what ever reason I like it, the blade locks in the sheath tightly as does the fire starter stick. Well worth it for me so I recommend it.

This is my second Morakniv and it did not disappoint. Comes super sharp out of the box with a sharp 90 grind on the back of the blade. The blade itself seemed gimmicky to me until I tried it, the dual grind is perfect for allowing the knife to perform heavy cutting and detailed or delicate tasks like carving and cooking. I used this knife to prepare beef stak for kebabs and it cut like a high quality kitchen knife. The handle is very grippy, the knife has never slipped in my hand and it is comfortable to hold in a push or pull to cut position. The sheath is well designed and holds the knife very securely in place. I can turn it upside down and shake it and the knife will not fall out. The leather strap which secures it to your belt is also well made and secure. The ferrocium rod clips on securely and itself is well made. The knife also comes with a small bit of reflective cordage which I simply wrapped around the sheath. The bright orange color is great and easy to find if you drop the knife or sheath. This is a supoer knife from the folks at Mora and has become my preferred bushcraft knife. Five big stars and a highly recommend from me.

Let me start off by saying that I own several Morakniv products. I think their knives are top quality at the price point that they are provided at. They could easily market this knife at the $100-$150 price range; it’s that good! Anywho, this knife will literally last you a lifetime, it holds an edge forever, and it sharpens like a dream on most flat stones and similar sharpening devices. GET IT! You won’t regret it.

The knife is great, but I cant say much for the fire steel. All I can get is minimal sparks unlike more robust fire steels. So I got a 5/16 drill and drilled the bottom hole on the fire steel holder and replaced the fire steel with an Exotac fire steel.Fits in the holder like a glove. Now all I need is a short length of 1/4 thick bungee cord so the fire steel stays put in the holder. All you bushcrafters out there I highly suggest replacing the fire steel with the Exotac fire steel. When you need a fire in a hurry you cant afford to be messing around with novelty junk.

Great knife! I have several different Mora knives of varying sizes and builds. This one rivals the heavy duty version of the Companion for heft and use. The 90° spine is a plus, as is the small ferro rod included. Theres also a diamond sharpening strip, but Ill never use that except for chipped edge repair as its way too coarse to maintain the fine edge this comes with. Ill stick with whetstones and stropping, thanks. Seems like a gimmick rather than practical. The dual grind is interesting and functional for finer work near the tip. While I prefer carbon steel for bushcraft, this one has the stainless blade. Its JUST a hair thinner than I like for serious crafting like batonning, but is still robust enough for that - could be just a little thicker, especially when using the more brittle stainless. This ones going in my hiking pack.

I love Morakniv and this knife feels amazing. Arrived very sharp. Had some crazy pattern of stuff on the blade, but after cleaning with oil a few times it finally came off. I’ve had it for a while now and it’s still sharp and strong. I use it a lot so at this point it should have a noticeable amount of wear and tear, but still barely any. After extensive use it’s still a beast. The kit is nice and worth the money. Morakniv is my favorite.

You really must be joking. Mora knows better than this--Im sure of it; and why they put out a superb knife with this whole cockamaime holster which flops around all topsy-turvy when ya walk... I have absolutely know clue. The knife is first rate, and well-made. The holster and its obnoxious and annoying leather strap on the other hand... utterly ruins the whole entire experience, for me. Because it is really just that terrible. The entire plastic sheath--knife and all flops out onto the floor when I walk, and it twirls around out of control. Pathetic engineering of the holster, and stupid!!

Easy to wash, perfect for standard use, light battoning can even be done.

Great knife. Having a fire steel and sharpener attached to the sheath is super.

Very pleased with this purchase. Knife grips well and minimal slip risk. Still, I added paracord through the handle to provide additional slip safety for my hand while cutting. I appreciate Mora making that possible by having the small hole in the handle. I use this knife for car camping purposes. Does a ton of jobs well. Live the burnt orange color for visibility and loss prevention. Never understood why non-warfare people want a knife that is colored (black/green/camouflage) so it would be harder to find if you misplace it.
