I used this when my wife needed to start working from home. We had only a single wired ethernet jack where her Office was to be setup. While I didnt really need 8 ports, the cost difference between the 5 port and 8 port switch was so little that there was no reason to not get the 8 port version. That will future proof us for a while, too. The switch itself is small, metal cased and wall mountable. I highly recommend this Netgear switch. I know it will work as good for you as it has for us. This was extremely easy to set up and it worked perfectly from the start.

I returned this as 8 ports might be a bit too many. I only needed 4 ports.

Quick easy and reliable. Plug it in. Plug the Ethernet feed and cables in and you’re instantly good to go.
