> 3 dayJust basing this review on a days worth of use. Purchased this to replace a netgear 10 / 100 fast ethernet switch. It was still working fine, which is why I purchased another netgear switch, but the 10 / 100 version had slow transfer speeds on my local network. With the 10 / 100 version, I was transferring files at around 11mb’s on my local network. With the gigabyte ethernet switch, I’m up to around 110mb transfer speed which is a huge improvement. Wish I would have purchased this a lot sooner after experiencing these updated speeds. Anyway, it was a no brainer as far as installing it. Definitely plug and play and everything plugged into it worked immediately. If this new ethernet switch is as reliable as my old netgear 10 / 100 switch, I’ll be pretty happy.

> 3 dayIve had the Netgear GS308 for about a week now. I just needed to expand my AT&T Gateway beyond the 3 ports on their gizmo. This was reasonably priced, had good reviews, and Ive had success with Netgear products before. To my delight, this product is pretty much plug and play! Not a lot of controls, but for our home, its just right.

> 3 dayIve bought and use several of these blue Netgear hubs/switches with the lifetime protection. I had one fail after a big storm, called up Netgear, and they sent me a new one - simple as that! The ports are all auto-detect (for uplink purposes) so you just plug in and it works. The power supplies have got smaller over the years; now they use very small (and cold) switched mode power supplies instead of big (warm) transformer wall warts. Network performance is outstanding too.

> 3 dayJust searched previous reviews and found I am not the only one who was annoyed by this. Unfortunately I still have devices (notorious S****** smart TV still has 100M ethernet as an example) running at 100M so it will be great to be able to tell, especially when the prints still says yellow for 10M/100M. Cant believe company to replace multi-color LEDs to save pennies!

> 3 dayThese are great for basic connections, I buy 10 at a time and just keep them on-hand for installs. Easily 1/2 the cost of the same part at Best Buy, and works well. Excellent for small networks or extending signal.
