> 3 dayIve owned the GS116 for the better part of a decade now, and its been on 24/7 all that time. The router itself is on its third wall-wart (12v 2A), and I just had to replace one capacitor in it. I dont consider a wall-wart failure a net-gear issue, and they could have died from power surges. I had my first real failure yesterday, when I was streaming a show and it stuttered and stopped. I traced it to this router. and even though the blinking lights showed the correct connection speed, nothing was reliably getting through. I pupped the top off and found a swollen cap. % minutes later a new one was installed and I was back in business.

> 3 dayYes, Netgear is the very best provider of efficient and reliable network switches. This 8 port switch connects several devices and computers day & night seemlessly switching data at 1G. When you fill up your 5 port Netgear switch, move up to 8 :)

> 3 dayIm not a low voltage expert so I can only express from the feeling after using it. Does work but the internet speed is not as good as if I connect the modem directly (drop by 100mbps for a 500mbps internet). I dont know if this is normal. But I need these switches so I will keep them.

> 3 dayThis switch works pretty well in my opinion. I actually really love having this for my server. It has a good transfer rate between the modem and access point. This provides me with a lot of different options which is really good. I have used it to play a lan game. Another thing I noticed about this product is that it does get a bit warm when you use all the ports so make sure you have it in an open area to make sure you have enough air flow. It does require a power source and you can use it with an access point if need be to create a wireless connection. It pretty much plug and play so you dont have to worry about any other installation. It does not come with a ethernet cable so be aware of that when you are using this. Also ensure you plug into the correct port in order for the data transfer to connect. Overall this product is great. It gives me additional ports and provides my server with a punch of more things.
