> 24 hourBest safeguard purchase I have ever made. I am a professional mechanical, instrumentation and electrical engineer and I have purchased and or installed many pieces of equipment during my tenure. The MyGuard® Automatic Laundry Water Shut Off System Automatic Laundry Water Shut Off System rates up there with the best products I have ever received and installed. The whole kit is very well thought out, from packaging, the installation instructions, wiring, controls and hardware - perfect. The kit was a pleasure to install. Our laundry room is on the main floor of our ranch style home with walkout and fully finished basement. A leaking seal or hose rupturing would cost thousands in repairs so this kit is worth every nickel. Now to be sure it worked - I took a thimble from our sewing kit - filled it with water and dumped it out by the sensor - valves went shut within seconds of the dump. This kit gives us peace of mind for any laundry issues, now I need to research to see if MyGuard® makes something similar for our automatic dishwasher. Note: I did not use the supplied drywall anchors - purchased a more substantial pair.

> 24 hourA quality item with everything needed to hook up. Valves were closed until pushing the test button and then the water started flowing. Wires could be a bit longer but not a big deal. The washing machine can flood the laundry room quickly even when you are nearby. We have had one flood while at home and one while we were not. Not anymore. Will still turn off the house water when we leave for more than a day but will have one less thing to worry about with these two systems in place.

> 24 hourPros: Simple to install. Manual water shut off from control unit. Control unit can be placed up to 5’ away from valves. Much less expensive (at $99) than other options. Cons: Very long automatic valve attachments that stick out from the wall. Edit - Two months after I installed these valves they have more than paid for themselves. One of my supply hose washers failed and began to leak. The moisture sensor was positioned just below the hose connections and tiny amount of water dripped on the floor. That was enough to trigger the alarm and shut off the valves. A leak this slow could have easily gone undetected for weeks and only been found after causing significant damage to the ceiling below, but thanks to this system the leak was found and fixed before any damage was caused. The placement of the water valves, low behind my washer makes them impossible to access without moving the washer. When I switched to a stacked washer/dryer moving the nearly 500 pounds of appliances became a truly daunting task that also involves disconnecting the dryer vent. This has only been a problem a few times, once when the washer valve failed and it filled up and overflowed, and then whenever we go on vacation. Since this washer is on the second floor, leaks can and have caused a serious amount of very expensive damage below. Installation: Installing this unit was very simple. The washer supply hoses are removed from the wall valves, the electronic valves are attached to the wall valves and the hoses are attached to the electronic valves. The control unit needs to be mounted to the wall and powered up with the AC adapter, the wires are connected to the valves and the water sensor is placed on the floor under the valves. The valve wires have quick disconnects, but the sensor is permanently attached to the control unit, a minor inconvenience. Installation issues: The valves are quite long, probably around 5” and on my installation stick out nearly 4” from the wall. I had to place a 2x4 on the floor behind the washer to make sure that the washer does not bang against the valves when in use. Function: When water pools under the water sensor a fairly loud alarm sounds and the valves shut off. The valves can also be shut off by holding a button on the control panel. An LED light on the panel indicates whether the valves are open or closed. If the unit is powered off the valves remain in position – if the valves were closed they remain closed, even after the power is restored. (I tested this by disconnecting the power for about 5 minutes.) Conclusion: This product is well thought out, simple to install, easy to use and works well. The only real negative I found is the long length of the valves. I have also found no indication that parts are available for this product on the manufacturers website, and long term reliability is an unknown. I would purchase this product again.

> 24 hourInstallation was pretty easy, but connecting it to the wifi is impossible!! I have tried for days. The app sends me no new message message all the time- many times a day, even though nothing is connected to the app.

> 24 hourOur out of town condo has a washer/dryer on the second floor. Been there for over 20 years. Watched a This Old House episode where they talked able potential leaks in washer hoses. Found this product, ordered it and went up and installed it in the condo. Has a leak detector which sits on the floor and I tested it by dropping it in a bucket with some water in it. The system shut off both water outlets. Maybe we would never have had a problem but now have piece of mind that I wont go up to our condo and find a waterfall in the living room.

> 24 hourI live in a townhouse where water damage can be very costly not only to my own property but also to the adjacent units around me. I know this firsthand when my neighbors water heater leaked and damaged our drywall and carpet. Most water damage start out undetected and almost invisible behind walls and appliances such as refs and washers. So one way of getting ahead of the game is to get informed and stop the problem right away as soon as it occurred. These automated valves are perfect for the job. Dont find out in the hard and costly way. Get these early warning/prevention system now. Highly recommended.

> 24 hourWith the laundry room on the second floor of our house and new hardwood floors everywhere, we were concerned about a leaking or broken washer hose causing severe damage. The drain pans we found at big box stores seemed really cheap and inadequate. We got a quote for a custom drain pan for the washer to drain it to the outside of the house in case of a failue: over $5,000! These automated valves have proven to be a far more reasonable solution. We turn them on prior to running our wash and off again when were done. Its not the perfect solution, but it is effective and easy to justify the expense.

> 24 hourHaving just installed this it looks like a good product, easy to install, which appears to work as intended, and Im glad to have bought it. However, I am knocking off a couple of stars for two reasons. First, the instructions say to use a 5/16 drill bit to drill holes in drywall for the anchors provided. This was too big. Indeed, when I went to screw in the first screw the whole thing just popped through to the other side of the drywall, hitting the floor with an audible plonk. Fortunately I had other anchors and screws in the basement so this was no more than a minor annoyance. And second, the phone number in the documentation (both that included in the box and the PDF versions I found on line) doesnt get you to customer service. Rather it takes you to the companys automotive division. They are clearly aware of the problem and offer to transfer you to customer service. But once there, they dont seem to have any more information than what is in the documentation I had already found. I wanted to know the dimensions of the sensor and the length of the power cord to be sure it would fit in my laundry closet. The person I talked too couldnt find this information. She said she would send an email to the manufacturer and hopefully get back to me by the end of the day. More than 3 days later nobody has gotten back to me. So I decided to take a chance and order it. It turns out that the sensor is just over 2.5 in diameter and 1/2 tall and the power cord is about 57 (it is hard to measure it exactly because it has been folded over and over), so it will work fine in my laundry room.

> 24 hourThe company that put this kit together spent a lot of time on the packaging, manual the control box and shut-off valves. Very well laid out and very very simple to install. The kit comes with everything you need, including a template to mount the box, tape, screws, wire ties, even an extra outlet! They really thought of everything. Not sure if you have ever installed a Floodstop but they could take a Big lesson from this company ! Floodstop just gives you some parts and a generic install manual that is for all of the products. You have to go to the hardware store to get the needed fittings. I would like to see this company make a unit for the furnace dehumidifier which notoriously leaks now and then. For the price, it is a great value! No point to a photo for it looks exactly like the one posted.
